Baaaaaaaaack. Next mission: New layout. By the by, found translated WK manga, both of them. Interesting to learn that Tsuchiya herself described Nagi as "He's trying to kiss Takatori and Schwarz's asses. He is childish, lies, and likes to blame others for what he's done. Also, he likes to claim honors for things others have done."

O_o Is is just me, or is that so totally out of synch with about every characterisation I've ever read/heard of? Well, here's the rest of them:

Schuldig: "I imagine him this way - he is neither crazy nor mad. He's on good terms with his colleagues and superiors. He's reliable. He draws a clear line between himself and the people around him. Sometimes, he grins rather sarcastically."

Farfarello: "When he wears the straight jacket, he is rather calm and peaceful. Schuldig is the one who puts it on him [the straight jacket]. The "belt" between his legs prohibits him from running, but he doesn't even think about taking it off, because he doesn't want to run (as in, he doesn't feel like it). He's suicidal. He uses knives."

Unfortunately, no character stuff for Crawford. The only thing said about him is that he wears "suits suiting his age"...whatever that's supposed to mean. You are what you wear? Gah....I need to change this layout.

Cold fingers, cold feet, but that's okay. Lemon-coloured sun over the rooftops, and that's okay too. Bright white puffy clouds in a pale blue sky, noise, cars, bus station, caught the 741 to Embankment, bank, cold, bottle of coke and three packs of cigs...that's okay. Everything's okay as long as it goes away. As long as it doesn't stay, I can deal with it. And only I can make it go away. Hey, I'm fine - no worries, no bullshit, just need to collect my thoughts for a moment. Leaving empty footprints in a virtual eternity, this is what this is. Three times nine, two times 4, multiply by infinity, minus one. The first one will go like this: step off a roof and watch the sidewalk race toward you. The second will go like this: sit down on your couch, turn on the TV, and never wake up again. The third will go like this: follow the first. One, two, three, now you're free, four, five, six, you make me sick, seven, nine, ten, never want to see your face again, eleven, twelve, thirteen, never breathed or been, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen and the some: go back where you started from. You, you, you, you, you and Lex, love ya all ^__^

"This movie is awsome. Plain and Simple. I was going to write some massive review and answer all the negative reviews but I won't waste my time. If you are an American then see this movie!!! If you arn't American then GO HOME!!!! We don't want you. Screw you! Love it or Leave it. Now that I got that out of the way...."

"This is in response to all the negative reviews of Black Hawk Down from Europeans that I have read on IMDB, especially OriginalProject1's review. If you Europeans are so smart when it comes to world politics how could you have brought the entire world to war twice within 25 years during which 75 million human beings (1/3 civilian) were killed and no doubt millions more would have perished if The United States had not sent its boys over to your war torn continent to do what your boys, French, Dutch, Belgian, Scandinavian, English, Polish, the whole damn continent save Switzerland, couldn't do which was fight and defeat Germany and Italy not once but twice! This along with the recent attacks against Jews and immigrants all across Europe only reinforces my belief that Europeans are the last people on the face of the Earth to lecture The United States about their so called 'Myth of Nationhood'"

God, I love Americans. They're the only people in the world who can openly make a fascist comment to another nation and get away with it without being called a fascist. Bravo.

I HATE discussions about the reasons of life. I hate hate hate hate HATE them. They're senseless. Meaningless. You want an answer to your 'why?'?. Here's one:
BECAUSE.

This just made my day. Finally a site that lists all his damn books; some of them are given in the flaps of his books, but I was never able to find a conclusive list. Now I have. Now I will start to hunt down those books in there I don't have. Which aren't that many.

The flight was without trouble and went smoothly. At Heathrow, Will and Christine picked me up, and they even brought their son, Malcom. Man, he's a cute as pie, but boy, he's also a demanding little devil at times. Saw me and claimed me, so to speak. We spent the Friday just vegging in front of the TV and catching up on old times, then went out in the evening to London's very own 'Chinatown'. Saturday, I spent online. Mei and I gave birth to some very memorable lines:

Mei: "Sweet nothings? XD What the hell would Far utter as sweet nothings?"
Me: "What the hell do I know? 'Yes, you little studmuffin, faster, oh yeah baby, move it'" ?

Needless to say, I was sitting in front of my pissy little laptop laughing my ass off, with a toddler chasing Ti around the house in another room. I had to take Ti with me this time - Dree went on holiday exactly the same time I did, and I don't trust anyone else to take care of my cat and her antics.

Sunday, Hyde Park. Sweet silence, I keep forgetting how much I love that giant park right in the freaking middle of London. We had a picknick near the Thames later in the day, more talking. Later in the evening, Sam and Bobby came by. They and I hit the clubs and didn't return to Camden until early Monday morning, and I was considerably dead tired and spent most of Monday sleeping and watching TV. More to come as it happens, I think. Let's hope nothing happens. I don't have a bad feeling per se. But it's not a good feeling either. *smirks* Dramatic, ain't I? *toodles*

Well, just saw "Thirteenth Ghosts", and am wholly unimpressed by that movie. The others were talking about which ghost was scary, but other than feeling slightly revolted at the sight of some, there was not a single scene in that movie that scared me. The story was flat, the characters even more flat, and I could've smacked the stereotyped American family, especially that little boy. And of course love is the universal force that solves all problems. Gimme a break, that's so old. The only good thing about the entire movie was the house most of the action took place at - though I wouldn't want to live in such a see-through building, the architecture was marvelous. The movie was not. Maybe I would've been more impressed if I'd seen it on the big screen, but I sat here sipping tea and petting Ti all through the flick with the lights turned off and it didn't really do anything for me. Blargh. I'm spoiled, I think. The Alien Quadrology still is my favourite "scary" movie.

Even now the world is bleeding...

It's been doing nothing but rain here the last few days, which makes walking the perimeter a real fun adventure. Blah. Something weird happened. Well, not really weird, more interesting. I subscribed to a slash list and met someone I'd known almost five years ago. E. Morgan was on MA when I was there, and we used to talk off and on, and she's on the list I subscribed to. So I emailed her, and we're remniscing right now, digging deeply into memory for all the fun stuff that happened on MA while I was there. She's still on it, I'm not, and I don't think I'll resub. Sort of lost interest in SWEPI after a while, although I still randomly hit the archive and check for my fave authors. Funny to think that Nephente at the Gate, or NatG as it was referred to back then, was born while I was on MA and the other SW lists. People still ask me what the name means, and why I chose to name my site(s) that way. Well, Nephente is a hallucinatory drug used in the mediterranean to induce dreams - sort of like an early form of LSD, if you so will, minus the chemistry. Don't ask me where "at the Gate" came from. It was a brainfart that carried over and still does, because so far, all my sites have been named NatG.

I'm sure everyone wanted to know this. *snerk*

Saw Elton John in concert yesterday after a rather impromptu decision to go to Frankfurt before work. It was definately worth it, too. Goodness, that man can sing. And the older he gets, the better his voice gets, at least that's what it sounded like to me. Seeing him before work did funky things to my mood, too. I was fairly bouncing all night. He played for nearly 4 hours straight without a single break inbetween. Crocodile Rock, Daniel...all the good songs. Before the first hour was over, everyone was blissfully ignoring the orderlies and dancing wherever they could. It was just great. No flimsy background singers, no bullshit, just him and a piano, a keyboarder, percussionist, drummer, bass player and guitar player.

Gah...having seen this yesterday, I am again seeing how little most current singers/bands have to hold up to people like Elton John. Yeah, I carry the torches for singers who don't need elaborate vidoes on MTV or out-there computer-enhanced sounds to make their voices carry. Freddy Mercury, Elton John, Tina Turner, Tori Amos, Joe Cocker, Chris the Burgh, Bruce Springsteen, Chris Rea ( *screams* ROAD TO HELLLLLLL!!!!!!! )...Techno and Rap and all that crap these days be damned. When those guys die, and Mercury already died, music will suffer greatly. ( And I think I'm about to go on a music rant... ) I mean, look at it: Freddy Mercury had a classical singing education. That guy was a freaking opera singer! If you ever get the chance, listen to the duets he made with Montserat Caballe. Those are to DIE for...if you go for that kind of music that just makes you want to curl up and die, that is. Nowadays, it seems it doesn't matter anymore if someone can sing or not, it matters what they look like in a video. Vocals? Who the hell needs vocals if we can sell Britney Spears to millions of slobbering teenagers, right? I mean, who the hell really listens to that crap she sings? Song meaning, anyone? The only meaning I can see is giving your right hand something to do if you're a teenage guy, and giving teenage girls inferior complexes because they don't look like that anorexic waif.

Then, don't get me started on the boybands. There's a few rare exceptions - take Ronan Keating and Robbie Williams for example, and maybe Gary Barlow from Take That. (...does anyone even remember Take That anymore? ) But the rest of them have solely been chosen to be THE SENSATION because they're eyecandy...and I beg to differ. I'm not a craddle robber. And 15-year-olds whining about the meaning of life and love just rub me the wrong way. Ah well.

Weird observation of the day: Did you know there's apple purιe in McDonald's curry sauce?

I'm sure you all wanted to know that.

To the BBers - miss you all. *sniff* I'm on at weird hours right now, but hopefully by the end of the week this shall stop, and I'll be back on more often. Mei, yesh, your neopets are fed and fine. *grins* And I managed to get your money level up a bit more. As well as your pets' stats O.o; Dun ask me how. *snerk* Mel, I would've aimed you, but your Away message said that you're in Nexus, so I thought I better not let my Aim window jump you while you're running around there. Brad, *snickers* better not get caught online during school time, ne? *hugs* Tessa, grah. Miss you. Philly, I'm...almost done coding Blindfold. So you better write faster unless you want me to be bored with nothing to do ( other than two million new blog layouts... ) DO YOU WANT ME TO BE BORED?! HUH?!

Didn't think so.

What else...weird things going on lately. Most of which either make me shake my head or want to kick something. In case anyone's wondering, yes, I'm talking to Drew, or Zoi as you knew her. Everything that's happened makes me glad I have friends like Tessa, Philly, Brad, Mei and Mel. You guys are my sanctuary as well as my best friends. Those are hard to come by, especially on the internet, the world of all things fickle and insubstantial. To think that it's now been over almost two years that I've been around you, and over one and a half years that we've been close friends, makes me more happy than anything else could. Dear Silence, I'm getting sentimental.

Actually, no, I'm not getting sentimental. I'm rather thoughtful right now. Without wanting to get into details, a few things did happen during the last two weeks that amazed me. Anyone remember DG? Or SPS, as they call themselves now? Well, I remember how we, or at least I, used to think that they were something like BB. Close friends who stuck together. Well, Zoi left that group for personal reasons, and now they're slandering her on their blogs - some of them. Not all. They're outright calling her an idiot. And I'm thinking it's wrong. She choose to leave them, they could at least have let her go in peace, without all this blaming and name calling.

That said, I shall now take my leave of this brutally light lavender pitas interface and get my butt to bed.

Newly discovered gem among the multitudes of Bad Music: Denez Prigent. Pretty much everyone I know will hate this kind of music, I guess. He's a Gwerz singer. Gwezr being traditional Breton music sung in a capella style with very little background music. The song I'm right now raving about is 'Gortoz a ran', which he performs together with Lisa Gerrard of Dead Can Dance fame. *melts*
