I jetted between yew tee and siglap the last 2 weeks to get my occasional dose of world cup matches. Hehah. What can I say I’m a world cup refugee…
At siglap, it’s a cosy projector screen screening with lotsa popcorns, chips, keropok udang, goreng pisang, epok-epok, mini cornettos and free flow of whatever drink’s available inside the cooler box, while lying on a mattress with pillows and a comforter in a darkened air-conditioned living room..
At yew tee, there’s the big-ass plasma flatscreen and plentiful and mucho chachos, nachos, doritos and apple chips (courtesy of me) and iced peach tea and plus a pre-match movie screening and the manja company of a mixed-breed-cat-that-doesn’t-know-it’s-half-persian-therefore-it’s-not-as-snobbish –as-a-persian…
So the plan tonight/this morning was to catch the Spain-France match at yew tee at 3am...
But…but…
“Heya, I feel chained to my bed…heh. Don’t think will come down…maybe will watch with u the matches on Friday?”
…was an sms I ended up sending. haha
YES, gravity (read:laziness) has chained me down and got the better of me. Sorry man.
And yes it seems sorta crazy if you don’t understand soccer - for one to take a 10-15 minute drive at 2am to a friend’s place to catch a 90-minute game. But it’s Spain we’re talkin bout here…
I could go if I really wanted to but having had explored the possibility of not moving from my bed, the latter became too enticing a proposal to reject..
Anyway (self-fulfilling prophecy alert) Spain seems to always lose or draw everytime I watch their matches live. So I pray my absence will yield them victory.
Although it would be my deepest regrets not to have witnessed my latino boys whip the french fries…I will be very happy that they do it anyway.
And if they don’t, then hell, let’s blame the ref! or the stars and fate and lady luck and all that jazz. set?
Shit. I had a cup of coffee earlier. Now the caffeine’s gone to waste.

Being cable-less, this fan-of-Spain hasn’t caught a single Spain match. But I’ve been cheering on the sidelines so to speak..
And so far so bien I hear. My latino jugador de futbols usually never make it past the quarters but let’s hope they’ve found their true matador spirit this time to make it a bullish outing. hoho Jia you la. I mean…uhh… Ole! (?)
Espanyol para siempre!...or somethin like that
On a random note…
I like listening music through headphones.

Was looking for this mixtape someone once gave me and realized that I left it inside the stereo of the old car when it got scrapped. We took out the stereo before that and gave it away but by the time I realized the cd was inside, it was too late.
Ok. This is the part where you sing me:
Waaaaaake upppppp…….you’re gonna miss a pretty morning babyyyyy…
Yup. That’s it. Thanks.

If my reluctance to use a close friend's tragedy as a scoop makes me less of a journalist, then I pray I can take comfort in the hopes that it didn't make me less of a friend.
I also pray for comfort, for strength, for ease, for lightness, for faith, for courage...for you. twisted frequencies @ 12:41 a.m.

Corr blimey, I've never had so many needles poking me within less than a minute.ever.
You could tell the nurse must've done it a million and three times, distracting me with small talk. While I did entertain her questions verbally, my facial expressions were contorted by a different focus altogether - P-A-I-N. (sakit la babi!)
hokay. I'm done.
Please. just allow me a few seconds of whiney indulgence. okthanks.
I'm ok. I'll live.
I've paid my saman, I've paid my bills, I've paid for my jabs, still need to pay for some pills...piggy bank, hang in there please..
Now I need to pay up my debts in sleep.
(so many things to do, so f*ckin' little time, only one me. fug.)

This is for old time's sake. Brings back memories. Stumbled upon this...and I remembered searching for the vid years ago but had no luck. Check out the moves! For the love of us, I still prefer our original shoulder-shrugging 'grand opener' (hey, we practised very hard ok), plus the broken mic always added an extra dose of originality which almost bore our very own trademark.

lazy sunday afternoon and the skies are dark. You could always hear a malay wedding from a mile away but never see it. There's one at my void deck now and I know 'coz the kompang boys are playing fervently as if the louder they play, the lighter the skies could become. There's also the hypnotic hint of the thick tinkling traditional xylophones (whatevertheycallit), there must be a kuda kepang performance. Kuda kepang scares the shit out of my mom, she says it's 'coz of a bad experience during childhood, she got chased round the whole kampung by a possessed wak jawa straddling a puppet paper horse, he'd just swallowed broken glasses and had blood dripping down his mouth. hell..I would be scarred for life too....poor motha.
Noise pollution is most dangerous 'coz you can't see it.

They're not showing "joan of arcadia" on tv today 'coz of some stupid golf tournaments. What the.. So.
if it drizzles, I'll go out for coffee and **********.
if it pours, I'll hang out at the kutubkhanah
if it's suddenly sunny, I'll stay home with the air-conditioner and a good book.
if it snows, I will meet brad pitt for otak-otak at gelang patah after angelina chauffeurs me to city plaza for a shopping pit stop.

It was a freaky coincidence….stupid van. But
“soon I’ll grow up and I won’t even flinch at your name…”
__________
Had a funny friday night…chilled out with the crazy presenter (some *cough*gorgeous*choke* presenter whats-her-name) after work…we waited long for our food to come..very nong... both of us with fuzzy ideas as to what our plans were really for the night…. Thought there was a prata supper but that didn't materialise so I had a Mustafa snack-shopping trip in the cards, which was later scrapped. But noi worries…..
‘coz the company got unprecedented-ly bigger in number as the night wore on. Which just proves that it’s always best when you don’t plan.
Germany vs Costa Rica was going on at a few TV sets, we only paid attention when someone scored…'coz there'd be sporadic uproars...
Moral of the story…eat after 11pm if you’re hungry. Muahah.
__________
I’ll most probably be spending my birthday this year at changi airport. If you’re invited to the party, get your passports ready… We’re gonna celebrate it 4 and a half times at different time zones. Woooooooo…muahahahha…which means…4 and a half pieces of presents. Hoho. I keeeed I keeeed.
The stomach is giving me problems.
I could use a round of tennis tomorrow. yoooooohooooooo
'til later mat skater.

Paying with sincerity can leave you shortchanged. muahah…

Heard Manhattans' "kiss and say goodbye" twice in one day yesterday. An english and a malay version. Once in the vehicle and once at the coffee shop. Hah! What're the odds??
Did a story on the triple 6es...and more coincidences. The world's too old. Parallel lines are converging everywhere...

Played catch on the roads today!
We still managed to get there in time to save the world though. No worries. It’s 07/06/06, and you’re still breathing, aren’t you?
Yea. Kudos to us.
I want to find a passion in life that will make me live the way Chris Martin/Thom Yorke/Ian Curtis sings live on stage. (no not the drugged way as they do seem to be sometimes..I'd like to think they're high on the musiccc)
still googling tho…and the server is very very slow…and I’m well aware that life is short and I don’t have all the time in the world.
But I trust it will come eventually…..

Life is a balance beam. You've gotta weigh it out...you've gotta wait it out.
Of course I believe in God...and that he only challenges you if he thinks you're worthy...so if shit happens, it means he loves you. hurrah.
__________
I had a crash course on marriage lesson 101 from uncle "asal boleh". If I really listen intently to his slurrings and jangles of Manglish (malay and english), between the lines, he actually makes alot of sense.
"Sometimes my wife screams at me..but I'm still cool...because behind that bitterness, is actually alot of love..sakit sakit sikit sikit babe.."
hahahahahah..
"You cannot give everything, you cannot take everything..the secret to a long marriage is to kasi kasi..tarik tarik (give give..pull pull)"
Muahahahahah...happy-go-lucky married men...they're funny.

Sincerity is the best currency that never deflates...
It payssss baby. Always.
I wanna steal your attention like a bad outlaw
And if so I will definitely catch them at siglap this weekend. (camera pans at an opportunistic groupie who screams, “Raul, I love you!!!!! <--- I’m not ashamed to say this could be me.)
do I stress you out? my sweater's on backwards and inside out
I like the sound of rain pelting against my window at 2 in the morning..
I love lurve luv kueh chang…and…and caramel apple chips…
Reggae, Hip Hop and Bossa Nova move me but not the way Ben Gibbard does. Hah.
Heh. It’s funny…..’coz the relationship (with that someone who gave me the cd) suffered the same fate – lost to someone else out there…and me realizing it too late.
So why don’t you slow down, love…while you can…
let that be enough
see you at the bitter end
now all...you wanna do is hustle you..
nyahahahahahahahah x n. *shoulder spasm*
oh. and as of this moment, while I'm typing... someone at the void deck is butchering my favourite manbai song on karaoke.
Who watches golf anyway?!?
consoled a cup of coffee but it didn't wanna talk
Then after 2 a.m, felt abit nauseas and light-headed. Had to turn down the supper trip to Newton. I swear I felt like puking while driving…(no I wasn’t drunk). Thankfully, made it home in one piece and the leather seats are not vomit-stained. Haha. Ew. No it’s not that the company - 3 boys, a white guy, a dude named rico, the crazy presenter and ball-boy - was bad….I was kept entertained for a few hours actually. But maybe it was the surge of nicotine… the body was gravitating towards the bed that early…weak eh…it must’ve been the canteen’s roti john lunch also that made me feel queasy.
but not about the changi airport part…
and I said "you're willing to tell me this now and you're not going to die any time soon"
and you said “yes, but you've been wearing leather..” and laughed
yesterday I woke up sucking on lemon
it’s not what you pay with, it’s who you pay to…
I haaaaad to meet you here todayyyyy......
