Oh. Right. I forgot I had one of these. Well, it's been a while. Let's see... Christmas was pretty nice, plus I got some really cool stuff. Hannukah was good too (especially since I got to open a b-day present early - the Zelda bonus disc is soo pretty... eheehee... too bad I gotta wait 4 more days till I can play it T_T). This past week or so has also been filled with lots of movies. Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of the Carribean x2, Benny & Joon, Cats Don't Dance, and another that I can't remember at the moment. Princess Mononoke would be added but I can't decide whether to stay up and watch it now, or save it for tomorrow. Hmm. But besides that, all the movies I've seen were pretty darn good. Except for Chicago. Bleh. That's why I didn't add it.

Here's something spooky. Almost, sorta kinda. This is my last saturday as a 17 year old. This time next week.... I'll be legal. Well, for the most part. I'll be able to vote and stuff anyway. Although this time next week I'll probably be doing the same thing I've always done for the past few years now. Watch cartoons, lots and lots of them. Especially Kenshin. Although technically Rurouni Kenshin is an anime, not a cartoon, but hey. Little details will only drag you down.

Holy crap. And that was just seeing the trailer on a screen the size of a credit card. Imagine seeing it on the Big screen... *faints*   But seriously, Spider-Man 2 looks to be really, really good. Times one million. And that's just from what little the trailer showed. But the biggest thing on my mind right now is why the hell Peter is wearing glasses in that first scene. I mean, who is he trying to fool? He doesn't need glasses, he stopped wearing them once he got his powers. I hope he's not trying to pull a Clark Kent thing. Besides the fact that the glasses would seriously get in the way when pulling his mask on. Not to mention that his vision would be all blurry-like. Unless... there are no lens in the frames... but that still wouldn't make sense. And that scene can't be taking place "in the past" because 1) He has his Spidey-sense and 2) MJ is wondering about the kiss because she kissed Spidey once and Pete once... and is she catching on to the connection? You bet she is. I'm curious to know if her answering machine survived and is mentioned... to Peter, 'cause that would seriously be hilarious. But back to him wearing glasses, because I am still hung up on that.

....and Holy Shit! A giant centipede just crawled out of my from under my desk. No worries though, Me an' Lil Darla (aka my sledge hammer) took care of it. Mweheheh. *strikes a pose* Stupid scary bugs, they should know better than to mess with a girl and her sledge hammer. ^_^ ...I need to think of a catchier slogan. And speaking of catchier ('cause it kinda looks like 'cashier') I might get a job at Macy's. Which would actually be pretty cool. But we'll see what the new year brings. But Melly-chan, don't worry about your wishlist. Well, next year's, anyway. Once I get a job (err, well, transportation to it anyway), I'll be able to actually BUY stuff for people instead of making them useless home-made stuff! Wahey! How cool would that be. Not to mention all the cool stuff I could buy for myself... ^_^

I still feel the need to yak about why Pete shouldn't be wearing those glasses, but considering I just tore a centipede to shreds... I think I'll take it as a warning and stop talking about BugBoy. Besides, maybe it was a dream sequence or something. Weird shit happens in dreams. ...But that STILL doesn't explain the glasses! ARG! Guess I'll find out July 2. Really. I'll go against all common sense and see that ultra-popular, highly-anticipated movie on its opening day. I've got a reputation to uphold. :P

Dude. In 5 days, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King comes to theaters. But that's not the good part. In 5 days, the Spider-Man 2 trailer comes to theaters and you can see it in the above mentioned LOTR movie. DUDE. Can this get any better? Hell yeah. Thanks to Sony and Yahoo!, we can see a sneak peak of that beautiful Spidey-licious trailer two days BEFORE the real trailer comes out. That's on the 15th for ya'll keeping count. But until then, you can watch the seconds tick by on their Spidey countdown. ^___^

We bought our Christmas tree today! Yay! ^___^ It smells so nice and pretty. I think I'll clip off some branches and hang them around my room. Which reminds me, I need to put those holiday lights back up. I don't remember why I took them down... considering they've been hanging over my windows for the past... what, 5 years? Oh. Yeah. Maybe that's why I took them down. Oh well. Back up they'll go.

Oh, and for some reason I feel the need to mention this (ie, to you Melly-chan), but I have placed a link to my wishlist over to your right next to some of my other links. Y'know, just in case you want to buy me something specific. Not that your usual round of gifts don't rock out loud. Although... I guess I could list some manga, considering you have a Kinokuniya. And for 5.50 a piece, that's quite a steal. I think. I wouldn't know considering most things here are incredibly overpriced, if they're here at all. *grumbles* But that's besides the point. The point is we have a pretty tree and I finally saw that scary flying monkey scene from the Wizard of Oz which played on the WB tonight. Dude, they were so creepy. Really really creepy. *shivers*

Well, this week sure seemed to go by rather quickly. I think that sentence made sense, but I'm not sure. My English is sort of deterriorating from my lack of school. But on the plus side, my Japanese is getting a little better. So I suppose that evens it out. ^-^;

It feels like I've been reading a lot lately. I'm actually reading more parts of the newspaper than the comics & opinion/editorials, and I finished 2 books in the past few days, Cloud of Sparrows and I Am Not Esther (which I started today, er, yesterday. Damn, writing so early can be confusing). Both were pretty good, but kinda creepy. Cloud of Sparrows was good despite the fact that at certain times I wanted to track down the author and beat the shit out of him with a bat. And then maybe drop him into a vat of piranna. Disgusting unrespectful bastard.

I Am Not Esther was also pretty good, except that it was Scary As Hell. Seriously. The Blair Witch Project has got nothing on this book. Although I could be overracting, but still. Here's a little snipit from the back of the book:

"...was a former teacher who was inspired to write this novel when a student was beaten up and expelled from his family for going against their religious beliefs."

His family, man! His own flesh and blood! Now that is just scary. So of course, this book is about a 14 year old girl who suddenly lives with family she never knew she had, who of course are a part of a Strict religious cult called the 'Fellowship of the Children of Faith'. And I mean strict. No love in the family, just rules rules rules. Everything is decided by a group of "Elders" and you have no choice but to do what they say (like get married at 16, or stop going to school)(College is TOTALLY out of the question) or they'll beat the shit out of you and disown you. And if you do something "ungodly" like ask a question, answer the door (especially if you're female), or say how these Rules are stupid and unfair, you get sent to the "Discipline Room" and stay there for however long the Man of the House says. Usually a day or three. Nothing is modern. No mirrors, tv, radio, newspapers, phone, nothing. The members have to wear clothes that cover every inch of their skin, EVEN IN THE SUMMER and when women go out in public they wear scarves over their heads like the women in the Middle East. Talk about oppression. ...Although, this book did answer a question which I have been wondering for quite some time now... what the heck did women do before pads were invented? Haha, now I know. Thank God for modern technology. But anyway, I swear this book is freaky, especially since its based on the here and now, and this type of thing (scary-creepy religious cults) still happen. The ending was good, but still sad. I feel so bad for the children, especially little Maggie. *sobs* It's not fair! Children should act like children, not like mindless robots! IT'S NOT RIGHT! *continues to rant and rave*

Needless to say, this book definitely got under my skin. Actually, anything about oppression usually does. Maybe I was a 1920's Feminist Fighter in another life time. Because NOTHING gets me more angry or violent than the oppression of women. Well, except for when college football takes over my Saturday shows. But I'm cool with that now 'cause it turns out they just play my shows on Sunday. But before I knew that, oh God, I could've torn them apart with my bare hands. ^^;

oOo, First of December! ^-^ ...Do you know what this means? I'll be 18 in 30 more days. Oh my goodness. I'll be old enough to vote. And go to war (not that I would), and get my own credit card (online shopping, here I come). Wow. That's kind of scary. Especially since I really don't like politics. I'm not even sure if I'm a Republican or Democrat. They both seem kind of lame; the way they throw dirt at each other. What babies. Maybe I'll be part of the Green party. That's the Independents, right? Guh, I'm gonna have to do research. Bleh. I wish there were cheat-sheets for politics. Now that would be a good business idea. But it's much too early to think about this now. I just wanted to be awake for the beginning of December, the loveliest month of all. Which is reason enough not to ruin it with politics. Oh yeah, and here's the new layout.
* Happy December everyone! ^-^ *
