| 3:11 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2001 zippo girl one night down in Newport, dave saw me pull out my zippo and said something along the lines of 'whoa! a girl with a zippo!' yeah, and i know what to do with it, too. there's something very satisfying about the weight of a zippo, the flip, snap, snick of using it. 3:09 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2001 we'll call it organic growth the notes in my paper journal are starting to look like a James Joyce notebook. ever seen his drafts? color coded in some way, higgledy piggledy all over the page, and not a horizontal line amongst them. 3:07 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2001 that's a long freakin' game. i didn't try to catch the game (Sox-Rangers, tyvm) last Saturday because it should have been over by the time i got home. then i heard something about 18 innings the next day, and thought 'huh. didn't realize they had a double header.' because they didn't. i could have caught the last 7 innings. who knew? 3:03 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2001 it's the little things... i found a fantabulous pic of Nomar to use as my wallpaper. makes me chirp when i see his smiling face plastered all over my monitor. starting the day is more fun this way. :) 2:16 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2001 what does it mean to journal? lovely, thoughtful piece by Joseph Epstein on what it means to journal, to keep a diary. he's been keeping a paper journal for over 30 years. his reflections got me to thinking, and i want to go back and reread the article. 12:40 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2001 bleargh. i hate being sick in the summer. it's just not right. 5:21 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2001 *snort* so that's what the stars say... oh, kudos to ken for turning up this one... check out your horoscope over here. it won't suck. i promise. *snicker* hee hee hee... 4:31 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2001 calliope i've been on another musical binge lately. as if y'all needed proof of my scattered tastes, here's the latest pile (and this is only at work...):
more, and more varied, at home - Blu Cantrell, Emmylou Harris, soundtrack from Northern Exposure (both volumes), some ambient recordings, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Eva Cassidy, and probably a few more i've filed away. yes, they're already in alphabetical order. :p there would have been a few albums of Great Blue Sea in there, too, if anyone had them in stock. |
