| 10:56 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2001 a view gone past i was cleaning out my mailbox today, and found this in last week's email from Yahoo. rather eerie timing. Manhattan Timeformations Using interactive computer animations, this site provides a unique
perspective of the history of Manhattan's skyscrapers. Animated Manhattan lets you "correlate the cartographic history of 370 years of urban development of the island with the peaks and valleys of office building speculation." Transparent New York presents a truly original look at the relationship between the skyscrapers and other urban realities like bridges, monuments, and landfills. Finally,
the thoroughly amazing Perspectival Fly-Through offers a view of the city unlike any you've ever seen. and won't see again.
11:25 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2001 my favorite drug Nyquil, my favorite drug. i love it. it's got the best thing i've ever read on a label - 180 proof. it's the only thing on the planet that tastes like Red and Green. (Robitussin? Nonnarcotic Sissy Pansy Bullshit!) and the day/night thing? your cold doesn't give a shit what time of day it is! hee hee... thank you so much for a good laugh, lew. we all need a good laugh these days.
11:20 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2001 thanks. so, a friend of mine whom i have been trying to get a cell phone # from for ages called me last night. he left a message, with the #. i was in shock. i called him today and asked 'so what does it take to get your phone #? a national disaster?' fortunately, he laughed.
11:17 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2001 yowch my pinched nerve is acting up. big fuckin' surprise. stress finds any outlet it can. *wince* i would just like to be able to pick up my coffee mug. caffeine is Important.
11:15 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2001 as a writer... comment told to me tonight - 'you giving Anais Nin a run for her money?' someone saw me writing in my journal... i would love to be as good as Nin. i can only dream.
11:13 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2001 *kaff* i've been smoking way too much recently. stress does that. and i've felt the overwhelming need for a hug. as have we all, i think. hey, if you and i bump into each other soon? hugs all around.
12:31 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2001 *tears* oh my god.. *crying* i've heard from most of my friends in NY and DC tonight, but. but. i watched one of the towers crumble, and the stories are still coming. *sniffle* there is just no way to make sense of this. too many people have died. too many people have been hurt. there is just no way to understand. *crying more* you know? even if you don't know anyone in NY or DC, please pray for the people who have been affected. there have been at least a thousand deaths confirmed, and i have to believe that the eventual number will be even higher. when we finally understand how many people have died, i think that the number will be more than any of us can bear.
12:15 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2001 unreal. you know, i hate the Shrub. but god love him for making a good, coherent speech tonight.
12:03 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2001 oh my god. i can't even begin to understand what's happened in NY and DC today. it's horrible. i've been able to catch up with most of my friends in NY... but you know what? doesn't matter. Doesn't. Matter. so many people have been touched by this. oh my god. please - if you have someone important in your life? please call them and tell them that you love them. and then go and donate blood at your local hospital. because that's the most important thing you can do to help.
11:58 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2001 ridiculously hip, as well. hee hee... how nice to hear that someone finds you 'excellently cute'? it's all good. :)
3:01 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2001 check it off the list... so i went to Amazon and ordered a few things off my wish list. and i found that it's not like any other registry i've used. you have to manually update the list to take purchased items off. why? the app should be smart enough to update the list, and block the name of the buyer, in the case of a gift. phooey.
2:59 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2001 PJ Harvey goodness whoo hoo! managed to get my neighbors in to the PJ Harvey show last week. met their little black and white kitty when telling them about the deal. how sad is it that i've lived next door to them for, oh, say, four years and i still can't get their names right?
2:57 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2001 coffee flavored coffee so my tracker has been revamped recently. and it works at work, on both browsers. but it no longer works at home in Nutscape. i've seen this problem before, and it's been intermittent. now it's persistent. i scrubbed everything i could that might conflict, and the problem is still there. feh. maybe a new CPU and a clean install will fix it. more likely, they've failed to accomodate the version of JAVA in question.
2:55 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2001 hrm. i wrote out some personal dreams recently in my paper journal. it's not for public consumption. i don't even intend to show it to the person in question. but i'm starting to wonder if i've jinxed everything just by committing the words to paper. :/
2:53 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2001 rev it up, baby ooooo... i saw the chrome Harley recently. yum. it is gorgeous. i want one. i'd take a Harley or an Indian Chief, which they're making again. the shape and sound of the bikes appeal to me, which is why the race bikes are no good. you just look dumb flopped over the handlebars.
