- His first debut was a minor role on dorama Gokusen as Oouchi Masayuki, a 3-D student. His first major role was on Kamen Rider 555 as Yuuji Kiba, one of the leading character on this series. Kiba is a complex character and Izumi-san said he enjoyed understanding Kiba's feeling.

- He dislikes raw onion and umeboshi (pickled cherry). Even when those were mixed in salad on his meals, they still create unpleasant taste in his mouth. He prefers leek and spices.

- Initally, he dreamed to be a professional baseball player since he loves this game very much, but during high school, his height was only 140cm and could not fit the proper physical requirement for a player, so he decided to be an actor.

- He graduated from university on April 2004 during the early periods of Kamen Rider Faiz shooting.

- His father calls him "Masayuki", his mother and his sister "Masa-kun", and his grandmother "Maa-chan".

- He used to have allergic to beepollen but under suggestion from Mitsuru Karahashi (Naoya Kaido on Kamen Rider Faiz), he visited hospital to get anti-allergic serum and now it has already cured.
