Yuuki Miyaka's Universe:

To make myself feel a little better, I gave my webpage a bit of a facelift. Most things are exactly the same (although I'm going to be tweaking over the next week or two to make them a little more user-friendly) but the Universe gained a splash page and several new sections.

The splash page is in the form of an image map. Clicking on the separate text links will take you to the places they say they do. Clicking on the title will bring you here, and clicking on Miaka herself will take you to my livejournal page.

The new sections include a section for links to other websites, a contact section for me, and a section linking to the different Choices webpages. There are also main links to the Annual Warnings List Contest, the Fanfiction Addiction Awards, and, of course, to my pita and webjournal.

The other bit of noteworthy news is that there's a new Fanfiction Addiction Award out. March sees the award for Indulgence, whose link I've included below. I hope everyone enjoys!

Choices, a new, interactive fanfiction:

Choices is the name of my newest project, an interactive fanfiction. Not only is it similar to a round-robin, allowing people to add what they want into an already established story, it also has elements of a "choose your own adventure" story, allowing people to add their little piece at any point along the way.

The set-up is simple. You go and read the story, and decide where along the way you want to see something different, and you add it. There are story codes posted at the end of each addition, noting where you can add different sections. Those story codes help me to determine where your section goes. Some stories may take themselves in a straight line, never deviating. Others may have so many choices to make it seems almost unreal. But either way, you come up with a story that multiple people have contributed to, and that you can adjust to fit your own standards.

So far, it's garnered little interest, but it's only been out a couple of days, and not all of the Choices projects are finished yet. There are currently four.

1. Anime Choices
2. Fanfiction Choices
3. ElfQuest Choices (This Choices project has yet to be fully created.)
4. Splintered Dreams Choices

Currently, the Anime Choices page contains a Gundam Wing story for everyone to add to. It has sections up for Fushigi Yuugi and Weiss Kreuz because that's what I intend to add next.

The Fanfiction Choices page contains only a fic from X-Men: The Movie at this time. I'm sure, however, that before this week is done, I'll have something else up there, too.

The ElfQuest Choices page has not been built quite yet. I'm having some trouble finding graphics that really fit the page. If anyone knows where I can get a sweet picture of Pike, Skot, and Krim (with or without Shenshen), I would be most appreciative!

And finally, the Splintered Dreams Choices page. Splintered Dreams is a series that I write with Cat Skyfire. It is based on ElfQuest, and there are still some elements of that series, but for the most part, Splintered Dreams is all original work. While the page was created mainly for Cat and I, anyone is welcome to play.

The nice thing about the Choices pages is that the story ideas are limitless. And if you don't like any of the series named, you have two courses of action.

If you wish me to start up a new story in a different series (say, for instance, Harry Potter or Gravitation), there are some things I'll need of you. I don't mind hosting the story or doing the work involved, but I'm not gonna start it myself. So I will expect:

1. An intro scene to the story. Something that people can post after.
2. A picture for the entrance to the story. If the picture is fan-art, I must have permission from the creator to post it. If it is true artwork from the series, let me know if there are any guidelines for posting.
3. A Love is Love badge, created from the guidelines at the Love is Love page, created by Ashura Nagisa. All of my Choices projects support the Love is Love ideal.

You may start your own.

Starting your own Choices page is certainly a good idea, if you have the patience for it. If you'd like advice on how to create your own page, please contact me with your questions.
