Forgot to mention, in the midst of overactive tear glands, that I've finally finished reading Blood and Gold (Anne Rice's latest, for those who don't follow... this time, it's about Marius). x_x Took 2 months, goddammit! Just had a marathon and finished the 50 episode historic Chinese period TV drama I've been watching for the past 2 months ("Kang Xi Di Guo" or The Empire of Kang Xi).
MWAAAAAAAH~~~~ ;_; *shikushikushiku* I haven't cried so hard in ages. And crying with an already stuffed nose = serious tissue consumption. -_-; I kinda expected some of it, just from the nature of the story... at/near the end of a reign, people will tend to die etc. ... but some of it was quite unexpected. And it's the sad + moving + wu nai* bits that's the bitch. ;_; Oh, and don't forget history + grandeur.

U fu fu fu. More about the HP movie:
- Screamed for Sirius' bike, even if Hagrid's riding it.
- When they were entering the Forbidden Forest, and mentioned "werewolves", mind immediately went to "Remus!!"
- Ron is cute. Hermione is cute. Harry is hot.
- Draco was also hot in places. But do not see why fan girls seem to think that Oliver Wood is hot. (His accent also reminded me of my boss, who's Scottish.)
- McGonagall rocks my world to tiny little pieces.
- Let's not talk about Draco/Harry and the face off outside the Hall before the Sorting.
- There was some Snape/Draco there in Potions class... sorta in a vampire sire/child way.... ^_^; Maybe it's coz I think Snape has this gothy thing going on.
- The whole thing reminded me of school. A lot. x_x Down to uniforms and undone ties. (Tangent: I wonder what basis DGS used for sorting us into Houses??)

Sudden burst of activity! I am bowled over.

3. On final paper guilt: isn't it true!? Sometimes even when one loves the class, one churns out these last minute, shoddy final papers, which should have been researched and drafted and revised, but due to procrastination gets started at 4am the day it's due, is turned in once it's written, an hour later than the deadline, without even a spell check. x_x *aaaarrrrggggh* *academic guilt*
4. The Rurouni Kenshin OVA soundtrack does in fact rock the world. But I try not to listen to it unless I want to throw myself into Angst Land (tm). It's all such sad music!! I can't watch the OVA thru without bawling. Tomoeeeee~~!! ;_;
5. Speaking of RPGs, I think I should make it a mission of mine to play through FF7-9. -_-; I never finished FF7. *growl* Need to bond with my Playstation. Since a couple people have asked, I'll post something I wrote to Bina-chan (Woo! Total of 5 people read my blog!) and Tim-kun here:
I'm leaving my job coz of multiple reasons, some more logical than others. ^_^;
- I'm more interested in strategy consulting than process and implementation, and my firm is doing a lot more of the latter than the former. Partially cos the market is demanding the same. (Also cos of the positioning of the firm.)
- Partially because of market conditions, the firm isn't offering a package that is especially inducive to employee retention. Which means, there's a lower opportunity cost of quitting.
- Not that interested in doing consulting for the financial services industry anyhoo. Want to try something different and more up my alley.
- There's only so much I can develop/learn here through an entry position. In any case, most people leave after 2 years or so to do other stuff, e.g. back in the "industry" (as opposed to being in consulting). Performance-wise, I think no one can have any bones to pick with me and I'm very well regarded etc. and getting rave reviews, but without, say, more solid experience in banking, there's only so much I can contribute and learn, and I think I'm hitting the limit around now. I mean, I don't for a moment think that this job was a waste of time etc., cos I think I've learnt so much that will be useful for me for days to come from so many really fabulous people, but I think it's time to move on and try something new. And I think it's been quite a boast to my confidence levels, since if I can do so well in this, there's really nothing that I can't do.
- Want a break.
- Been thinking about taking up photography.
- If I must mess up, let me do it before I'm 30. ^_^;;
Plans:
Technically, I'll be leaving the company early Jan. And as I'm thinking about Art school.... I'll be taking time in Jan and Feb to put apps together to meet March deadlines, and we'll see how it goes from there. If that falls through, I might try to get a job in advertising or brand management or some crap like that. :P Oh, Art schools in the US, I mean. So I think I'll be moving back to at least the same continent as some of you guys, though not exactly sure where and when yet. ^_^;;
