Ladies (and gentlemen), I fly in 9 hours.
Which means... I'm packing now! :P
Yippee for another 20 hours through heck and back.-_-;

I buy Cookie just to read it every month... and then pull my hair out till the next issue comes. :P Bunny-chan, have you read all the volumes that are out? And have you read Paradise Kiss? *^o^* (Helps if you've read Gokinjou Monogatari... :P) *mwaaaaaaaaaah!!*

....................................................
Hello people -- Happy New Year! *^o^*
tet-chan: Have you seen the "Movie" section (under "Gallery") on the Moon Child site?? You must!!! *^O^* You can look at all of them, but definitely check out "Moon Child the 1st". It's a short TV ad for the movie... watch Gackt shove a gun at hyde!!! A HA HA HA HA HA HA~!!!! *runs off and watches it again!* *flipflipflipgunshove!*
*cough* ANyway. ^_^;
Can people make anime recommendations please? I went to Sino Centre yesterday and just kinda stared at all the new anime and have no idea what's good. ^_^; Bunny-chan, how's Pita-ten? And I saw the anime for the "Chronicles of 12 Countries"... but did you say that it's different from the manga? (Speaking of manga, a "complete version" of Earthian should be out. With some kind of ending?? I saw an ad for it on Za Margaret. But can't find it in Sogo. -_-;) Is "Subaru-kun." "Seishirou-san...!!!" worth HK$160 for the X TV series?? What the heck is "Heat Guy J"?? ^_^;;;;;;
In the mean time, I will watch Gackt's concert (live broadcast on Japanese TV Christmas Eve)... I hope he does something insane... *fufu*
(Also, for interested parties, I'm halfway through the Fellowship of the Ring. The book, that is. Finished the Hobbit. Then I'll watch the movie. ^_^;)

....................................................
Well, there ain't one with green hair yet, but here's one with blue hair... ^_^;
In the mean time, check out Daniel Radcliffe speaking Japanese. :P
**AND**... there are now pictures up on the Moon Child movie site. Go, look, point, and bust out laughing. :P (It's the third box from the right, then "Photo".)(*looks again*... new pics!! A HA HA HA HA HA~!!! Gackt and hyde!!! With ammunition!!! *dies all over again* I have got to see this thing!!!)
In other news, it's actually cold in HK... around 40 degrees F. ^_^;;;; We shiver and bundle up. (Btw, Momo-chan got me a stuffie gund lion... He has hair like David Beckam!! Or is it the other way around... ^_^;) Haven't really done very much at all... stayed home and watched DVDs and read (!!! haven't done that in a while). Have tons of snacks from City Super and Park N Shop. *momo juice!*
I can hole up here for another year or so. :P

....................................................
Yaho, and Merry Christmas to all. ^_^
Got home all right, though the flight was a nightmare... LAX to Narita (Tokyo) and then to HK... so, count them: 12 hours+ to Narita, 2 hours layover, then 5 hours+ to HK. I can friggin' fly from *Boston* to HK with that time!!! x_x I don't understand why it's taking longer to fly from some place a *continent* closer to home. x_x
In the mean time, I've been sleeping a lot and watching (GLAY and Utada and Friends) DVDs... (Speaking of which, I don't understand how all of you guys hate Friends. I happen to love it, as does Evie and Momo-chan. So there. You guys all suck! :P :P :P)
(Btw, Phoebe reminds me of Megan. Or have I mentioned that already? :P)
Might be able to muster up enough energy to actually shop in a couple of days, but I guess I'll let the public holidays pass first. (I did get the CDs and DVDs from Sino Centre first though. :P And my Blythe stuff. *hearts!* Kawaii ko wo kacchatta! *^o^*) I was in Harbour City with Karen-chan on Sunday, and the crowds were insane. (All the stores were so packed, we kept shaking our heads and going, "Are they giving out stuff for free??" ["Ng sai tseen ar??"])
Also, Mom is trying to throw a dinner party for *18* tomorrow night. She's insane. She started with 6 guests and suddenly today she announced that it's mushroomed into 18. x_x I was going to just eat at home tomorrow, but upon that piece of news, I called Ada up and asked her if there was anything going on so I can get out of the house. ^_^;;;;;;;;; Hope everybody's holidays are a bit less insane.

....................................................
Hello world.
The term is finally over... I think I'm still alive. ^_^; Actually went around shopping today, which is the first time in three months that I've really gone around LA and looked around at something other than photo supplies. ^_^;
Am flying to Hong Kong tomorrow morning... will write more later. ^_^;

....................................................
They nearly locked me in the Black and White Lab today. -_-;
I finished developing my control strips at around 9:45pm (I was in there for 8 hours. Fuck me. -_-;), and decided that I have enough time to load film (into my 4x5 format camera film holders, which you have to do in the dark). So I went into one of the processing rooms to do so, and when I got out of the room, I saw that they've just turned the lights off and the lab tech had just closed the door and was about to lock it behind him. I ran and pulled the door open, which surprised him quite a bit,,, "Where *were* you??" "In the film loading room!!" I was dripping negatives and film holders, film box, bag, art bin, all over the place... -_-;

....................................................
Yesterday was better, even though I had class from 9am thru to 7pm... Turned in the Ball and Cube assignment with that "I don't care anymore" attitude. So what if the crescent shadow side of the ball is more halfway than a third way, and my print is too light?? Aiyaaah. X_X On the other hand, I think I got the hard light version of the Ball Cube and Cylinder lighting assignment right (finally.... Gradation in background, values of all objects must seperate from background at all points <-- hellish, as is gradating; Ball: crescent shadow side, seperation from core shadow; Cylinder: half highlight, half shadow; Cube: highlight side as first value, light side of background as second <-- this is hard to balance wth next req, top of cube as third <-- this is hard to balance with previous req, then shadow side and core shadow... @_@)... I can now look forward to the soft light version...
Today I have no class, so I slept in a bit. *snugs her bed* But must head to school... have to spend ~7hours in the processing rooms for the film developer contamination exercise... must bring music... I wish i had an iPod... -_-;
As I was saying to Momo-chan, I wanna go shopping~~!!! X_X (Anywhere but Samy's Camera or the Art Store or the campus Student Store...) Maybe Thanksgiving break...

....................................................
I feel like I'm so behind on everything... schoolwise, I'm just running from deadline to deadline, but I guess that's how everybody is. Lifewise, I haven't vacuumed for 2 weeks, and half my life is still in boxes (I was halfway unpacked when school started). I blew off work today and got some of my life back together. ^_^; (I'm trying not to think about how I'm going to pay for this moment of respite.) I tidied my apartment, vacuumed etc.... and checked up on my bands. ^_^;;;; (I visited the Kinokuniya out here a few weeks ago and walked into a new GLAY album. Boy was I in shock. ^_^;; That's when it hit me how much of my time is eaten up by school --- I didn't even know there was supposed to be a new thing coming out. -_-;) Anyway, the thing that was of *REALLY* high entertainment value that I feel compelled to share with all of you is:
GACKT AND HYDE ARE GOING TO BE IN A MOVIE TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I fell over laughing my head off for about 3 minutes. Take a look. The thing's called Moon Child, and it's supposed to be out in theatres Spring 2003.
And it's got Gackt marks all over it --- the premise of the story is something like futuristic-angsty-asian-city-slums-street-kids-gang thing. ^_^;;; (Read the blurb yourself if you can read Japanese.) And for main characters, Gackt actually stated that "There's only one person in Japan who can play this character." --> HYDE. ^_^;;;; *steps out to laugh some more*
Man, this is priceless... I mean, on the one hand, I'm all fangirl-I-want-to-see-this!, and on the other, I'm all like AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA -This-is-so-ridiculous. ^_^;;;; In either case, I wait with abated breath. (tet-chan, wanna go see it with me?? ^_-)
I'm babbling... I should get dinner. Or somethin'. ^_^;;; *snugz* to everyone.

....................................................
Spent Mid Autumn Festival (Chinese Moon Festival) in the Black and White Lab... Need to clean apartment... messy... boxes around... haven't vacuumed in 2 weeks...
That which does not kill you makes you stronger. Or failing that, contaminate your system with film and print fixer. x_x
*process film* *process film* *process film* *process film* *process film* *process film* *process film* *process film* *process film*
*need to shoot* *need to come up with concept* *need to execute concept* *environment and lighting considerations*
And did I mention that I've got bruises on my shoulder from lugging equipment around? X_X (Large format camera box has shoulder strap.)
I feel about ready to fall over flat and stay that way for 2 months. ^_^;
But on a sick level, I'm also enjoying it. One of those, after you've spent 8 hours in the lab and you've just cleaned up and trying to stuff all your trays and tongs and gallon bottles of developer and tanks and film hangers back into your locker tetris style, you look up and realise you're feeling a satisfaction somewhere in the back of your head.
Then you go back to panicking about deadlines and lab hours and having no creative inspiration under time pressures. x_x
And Eeeeka-chan, that was a scary link. @_@ Scaaaaarrrryyyyyyy~!!!
tet-chan, ganbare~!!! *^o^* Bunny-chan, hang on!!
*snugz* to everybody. ^_-

The prophecy that I will have no life is rapidly becoming reality. Karen and Panda have gone to HK, and now I have to pay for the time that I spent having fun. :P I'm not exactly behind, but I'm definitely not ahead. Which means I'm treading water, barely... >_< *would run around ripping hair out if not waste of time and too tired from lugging equipment around*
I will kick the ass of 1st term photo at ACCD if it kills me. x_x

....................................................
Went to Neil-sama's signing at Santa Monica today. *hearts!* The place is called "Every Picture Tells a Story"... It's mostly a kid's bookstore with lots of picture books and real original art for sale (like Babar in watercolour, Eloise prints, Charles M. Schultz doodle of Peppermint Patty...) And apparently, for interested parties, Brian Froud will be signing there soon too. (he did the Faerie books, and was the conceptual designer of Dark Crystal... they're having a screening of that too.)
Karen-chan and Panda-chan were very patient and understanding, coming along with me. And then we hit the Thrid Street Promenade and had a seafood dinner at the Lobster. Too bad Pacific Park with the Ferris Wheel by the Pier was closed. Well, next time.
Meanwhile, you can think about owning a lunch tote embroidered by Ursula Le Guin. :P

Utada Hikaru just got married!!!!! @_@ If you can read Japanese, here it is, in her own words. Apparently he's a 34 year old photographer/video director.
Wah~~~~~~!!!!! Omedetou. *^.^*

....................................................
My apartment smells like miso.
Cos Karen's here to visit! *^o^* (Having been to Spain, England, Canada, NYC... she's on her way back to HK.) And being the "Shufu desu~" that she is, she made me a pot of real miso last night. *^O^* *hearts!* Panda-chan is on her way here from Toronto as we speak, so we're gonna (mini)* party till the end of the week! *^o^* (She's gonna head over to HK with Karen. *^o^*)
(mini)* : Cos this is the first sorta real week of classes! A little bit overwhelmed by all the info they are throwing at us, but I'm sure everything will come together. So far, most of it's been, "Here's the equipment list (*a mile long*), and we will have our first class shoot on Wednesday." ^_^; *run around trying to get stuff* *navigating the streets of Hollywood (where many camera stores are)* This term I'm taking: Black and White Lab, 4x5 View Camera, Intro to Modernism ("What about intro to post modernism?" asks K-chan.), Design Elements and Procedures, and some kind of photo creative workshop class. I've been told that I will have no life. ^_^; No TV, internet related procrastination etc. Which is why I have a VCR. :P And some of you know that I'm trying to get an all zone DVD player. (What up with this place anyway?? In HK, all players are all zone, plays DVDs, VCDs, CDs, MP3s, and CD-RWs.. Aiyaah. -_-; )
Mraarrr. Am home for 2 hours cos the 8am-1pm class ended way early. Will eat lunch at home and then go back to school. :P *yuru*

Did I ever mention that I'm obsessing over Blythe?? (Here's the direct link to Gina Garan's photographs of her. This is one of my favourites, as is this one. This one's cute too. Fu.) I know a few of you (yes, you right there) think she's freaky, but I love her! She's my little darling. *hearts*
Take a look at 2 of my girls (used loosely, as one of them is technically Robert's, but she likes me more :P). Here's a more fuzzy and artsy one, and a cool one.
*runs off, throwing pink hearts at innocent passersby* *o ho ho ho ho ho ho~!!*

L.A. is a happening place. Neil Gaiman signing on the 15th! B'z concert on the 24th! Why is this on a Tuesday at 6:30pm? I'll go if my class schedule allows...
Speaking of class schedules, Day 2 of Orientation: Finally met some photo people, since we were divided up by majors for one of those tour of campus/student mentor Q&A things. We don't get our schedules till tomorrow at registration. (Apparently, we have no choice in classes in our first term, it's all basically set. No Saturday classes though! Woohoo!) We shall see how it goes.

....................................................
Not dead yet, nope. Just fell off the face of the earth for 2 weeks without internet access, looking for an apartment, cleaning the place, getting furniture, building furniture, getting equipment for school, getting a car, insurance, cell phone, computer... I'm tired! x_x (Speaking of computers: I got a Mac! For the first time in my life! @_@)
Orientation Day 1 today, at the Art Center College of Design in sunny Pasadena. Mandatory survey meeting, Computer Lab policies reviewed, and a mandatory English placement test for all incoming students! @_@ I haven't written in a blue book in years! @_@ Girl at my table said, "English placement? I thought I was at a design school!" Guy sitting next to her said, "I bet they give art exams at Harvard."
Miss you all! *^o^* (And tet-chan, Deep River is such a good album!!! *^O^* Hikki!!! I only have Distance with me... Deep River is being shipped... someone tell me where I can find the mp3!! *o* )
