... and enjoy Pitas

Hangin' here in Pijus' apartment in NYC. (He's out of town and Katherine offered me crash space for a week. Come on, dude. How can I resist NYC?) Staying in and sleeping in today, cos am feeling a bit woozy and scratchy in the throat. Probably better to rest up and then head out tomorrow. I really should learn not to push myself this much in scheduling:

Term ended on Saturday... <-- the "..." says it all -_-; Anyway, cleared my locker and it took 4 plastic tubs. I knew that our photo lockers are larger than most lockers, but hey, didn't know that I could stuff that much into it. My thighs were hurting after for 4 days afterwards. -_-; My classmates decided to have an end of term thing at Jillian's at CityWalk (a bar/arcade) on Friday night, so was out till like 3am. Got up at 7:30am on Saturday to get to my other friends' house cos we were going to go to Disneyland before a Tori Amos concert that night (5 minutes drive from Disneyland, so we had to do it). There were 5 of us, and Pam's husband works for Disney on theme park attraction designs, so first, we only had to pay for 1 ticket cos of some freaky employee thing, second, we had a guide who knew where, say, the better food is. :P Went to see Tori afterwards, and she was awesome. I dozed off a little though... was too tired. -_-; Got home at 1am... fell asleep and did not pack. (HA!) Got up at 5:15am (without an alarm! didn't set one cos logic doesn't work late at night... it's a miracle!) for a 7am flight. Packed in 15 minutes and drove to the airport. Got to long term parking, and to the terminal at 6:30am. Reached the gate at 6:40am. (A HA HA HA HA HA HA~!! 5 minutes before the gate closed! <-- insane laughter just thinking about it) I don't think I've ever been so late to a flight. I'm surprised that my luggage got on the flight at all. Kat was nice enough to keep feeding me good, real food. I told her that it's the longest stretch of real food I've had in months. ^_^;

Kurt visited from Brown on Monday. Him and Kat and I had a nice Korean dinner and then did most of the department stores on Tuesday before he went back. Missed shopping with the two of them, really.

Planning on going to the Guggenheim at some point to see Matthew Barney's Cremaster Cycle. Or the Two Towers again when Pijus (the Tolkien buff) gets back. (I only saw it once. *shiku*) Or Bend It Like Beckham with Kat.

But in the mean time, I'm loading up on the Echinacea, Vitamin C, and honey throat drops. ^_^;

Bunny-chaaan~!! Keep writing! *^o^* How else am I supposed to get up to the minute news on how you're doing and what you're obsessed with? *snugz~* *^o^*

Nothing like disco to get you through a rough patch. (Week 13 of 14)

Thank you, Priscilla Queen of the Desert Soundtrack.

Watch this space for deep thoughts when the term actually ends. -_-;

(p.s. Bunny-chan, what were you doing in LA and NOT LETTING ME KNOW??? I'm surprised that I didn't run into you at Kino. :P)

"Hanarenaide...!" "Yakusoku suru."

Mwa ha ha ha ha haaaaa~~!!!! *^O^*

In other news, I'm having serious motivation issues. -_-; This is *very bad*, and I'll probably just screw myself over royally, but I'm going home (an hour) early tonight.

Blah.

For your procrastination pleasure:

You wanna shag them all!
You want to shag them all! Can't make up your mind,
can you? OK, you have two options, jot down a
date for everyone, so you can have them by turn
or just have one nice long big orgie. Sounds
good?

Which Helm's Deep soldier do you wanna shag?
brought to you by Quizilla

Also, I *think* it's a fake ad for a fake documentary, it's off of the Series 7 official site. It's Sorority Secrets! I haven't laughed so hard in a while. (Also sounds like a LARP. ^_^;;;;;)

....................................................

We saw a film for Photo History class called "Series 7: The Contenders." It's a mock documentary, filmed like a marathon of TV episodes. The premise is that there's a reality TV show called The Contenders, and every season 5 participants are drawn by lottery out of a chosen town (everybody in the town is entered into the draw, like it or not), and they play with the reigning champion... the goal of the game is to kill the other 5 people and survive.

At first, I wasn't convinced that this would be entertaining, and I was cringing during the 1st half of the thing.

... but if you keep watching, IT'S FRIGGIN' AWESOME!!! Dark, humorous, @#$%ed up in a most beautiful way. Oh my god, I felt a serious gaming high when it all ended. It's almost exactly like the elation after game wrap of a truly excellent LARP.

Watch it! I don't think you can find it at Blockbusters, but try other independent video rental places. Watch it, and watch it *all the way through.*

(Note: can get violent in places, just so you know. ^_^;)

The very awesome cassieclaire has put up the next installment of the Very Secret Diaries... this time, of Legolas~!!!

My cup runneth over, and I'm so friggin' late getting to school. ^_^;;;;;;

....................................................

*blinkblink* Kicchan, are you in Boston?? ^_^;;; My befuddled mind keeps thinking that you're in NJ, for some reason... -_-;;;; GOMEN~~~!!!!!! >_< (Glad you didn't get stuck in NYC though. ^_^; Hope you had fun!)

I have a random 50 min. gap between lab work and class. (Tuesdays I have Lighting class: start setting up around 11-12noon, class starts 1pm, shoot till 5pm, clean up, process film, do other lab stuff till 9pm critique, go home at 10pm.) Today, my normal exposure sheet of film was all I had to process (usually have to do the half a stop over and half a stop under sheets too), and I don't have enough time to start anything else useful... so I'm sitting here typing this. ^_^;;; Doop-de-doo. Enjoy it while I can, before forecasted freak out later on this week. :P *crunch*

tet-chan? Do you have Tetsu69's Suite November album? I only really just started listening to it while typing a paper, and there's a hidden track 69 on it. ^_^;;;;

....................................................

I got home. Yesterday afternoon. ^_^;

Remember when I said this trip has been a test of tenacity? It's extended to every single aspect of this exteneded weekend (getting equipment, Twister, calling USAir millions of times to get thru to make flight arrangements, figuring Philly out...)

Was in Boston for the long weekend, and planned on getting back to LA on Monday, but that didn't happen cos of the blizzard and flights got cancelled. Which was okay, cos my next class/meeting was on Tuesday at 8pm, and the appendices on the extended DVDs of Fellowship were entertaining. ^_^; Got to airport on Tuesday (Logan = madhouse, but not unmanageable), and flight was delayed for 3 hours and thus I missed my connection when I got to Philly. Decided that I'll take the Acela or SEPTA to NYC to find Katherine, since I've done that with Evie before when I was visting her at UPenn, and there were enough people stranded that hotel rates aren't going to be that great anyway. Then, there's the thrill factor. :P Called Kat, and actually she hooked me up with Gladys who found KY for me, who's working in Philly. So went to stay with her instead. (Better for sleep anyway... and she's got 2 plushie Cthulus in her apartment. ^_^;) Flew out of Philly (Philly = madhouse, but since have no bags to check, could skip bag check line and thus is okay) yesterday (Wed) morning. Got back to LA in the afternoon. ^_^;

It was interesting to see the people in the airports, actually. There was this strange sense of comradery, of "yup, was your flight cancelled? so was mine. good luck to you too!"-ness. ^_^; Both times when I went through the security check, the person handchecking my film kept talking photo to me. The guy at Logan wanted to know more about getting sharper pictures and the guy at Philly knew a bit about photo and knew what the hell these 120 format rolls of film were and we talked about medium format cameras. ^_^; It's kinda funny... photo is this thing that *everybody* at least dabbles with.

A big thank you to everybody!! It was awesome seeing you all. Much luv and kissies. ^_-

-- Mi-makechadame!-ko, who needs to finish her homework for this afternoon :P

....................................................

MWAAAAAAAAAAAAH~~~!!!!

Just made it in time to class. (Today's the one day I don't have to be in the photo lab, just the computer lab cos it's digital design class.) Finished my homework, printed, burned CD to turn in, all in the nick of time.

And of course, I haven't packed yet. (Is anything new?)

*minor freak out* ^_^;

See people in Boston tomorrow! (Oh, yeah, I'm going there for the long weekend. ^_^;)

Oh my god --- stop messing with my poor brain!

If you don't read Neil Gaiman's blog, you should. Cos you'll find Saddam to be disarming and Smeagol-Gollum slash... >o<

Feels just like old times... -_-;

MWA HA HA HAAA~!!!! *dies a couple of times before coming back* I knew that the exhibit was going on, but I had no idea that it's this good. *MUSTSEEMOONCHILD!!!!!!!!* May it'll be on in Hong Kong at some point when I'm home... :P :P :P *keep wishing* Would at least get the DVD the moment it's out... but would love to drag tet-chan to go see it in the theatre!! *^O^* O HO HO HO HO HO HO~!!!!

In the mean time, need to either see Adaptation or Chicago for class (need to pick movie from list to watch and then shoot movie poster and those were the two I was already vaguely wanting to see). Want to watch The Two Towers a second time. *Legolas!!! KILL HIM!!!* A HA HA HA HA HA~!!!!!! *falls over and dies again*

...... btw, I think I'm high cos I've been able to procrastinate this week. My whole class has a serious case of "Nah, don't wanna do any work yet". Last tern kinda kicked our butts and we just can't bring ourselves to start up. :P And with the long weekend. And this term seems on the whole slightly better... <-- will probably regret saying this in about 2 weeks, so won't push it.

Also, have new toy!! *^o^* iPod-chan! *^O^* Have put a bunch of CDs on there and it's totally dreamy... makes working in the darkroom/lab for 9 hours go by so much faster. U fu fu fu. And can use as external firewire drive for digital design class. And it's *white*! *MWAAAAAA~~* *pokes Bunny-chan* ...... flirting????? *POKEPOKEPOKEPOKEPOKE!!*

....................................................

Just finished reading The Return of the King. *shiku!* ;_;

... in other news, I've continued to doom myself to jetlag. -_-; School starts on Monday.

03:58 a.m. Sunday, January 12, 2003

....................................................

Addendum to manga yomi daikai:
I think tet-chan mentioned this before, but Gakuen Alice (in Hana to Yume) rocks!!!!! *^O^* My fav panel is "Boy meets Tori~".... *falls over!* You just have to read it to understand. *^o^* Got Rabi-chan's kareshi addicted too! Mwa ha ha ha ha~!!

12:28 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2003

....................................................

Still rather jetlaggy... -_-; Granted, I'm not making enough of an effort to sleep at decent hours... reading too much manga (all the stuff I subscribed to but didn't have time to read last term) and also Tolkien! (At last! Midway through The Return of the King. Pijus would be proud. ^_^;;;)

Watched the extended version of the Fellowship before I boarded the plane and just saw the Two Towers last night with Connie. Connie came out of the movie singing Legolas-praises, Kat told me over break that Gladys is all over Legolas, and Bunny-chan has his pic up, but I didn't see the appeal till I watched TTT. Legolaaaaas~~~!!!! A HA HA HA HA HA~!!!!! *^o^* After Fellowship I liked Aragon, but Legolas is too cool for school in the movie. :P

And of course, the Very Secret Diaries had me in stitches. (Read down in order, and then over. Trust me. ^_- More funny if you've *read* Bridget Jones, but still insanely funny otherwise. *Movie Canon*) For more procrastination fun, try these spoofs. They vary in quality, but there are some real gems in there, like Onion spoofs (on page 5: "Area man loses magical ring of power, thinks it may be behind the couch". *^o^*)

(Personal note: can probably come up with LotR movies drinking game. Drink every time there's an aerial, rotating view of magnificient landscape. Drink twice if shot includes journeying people running. Drink any time someone is backlit. ^_^; That should be enough to floor most people.)

In other news, met up with Rabi-chan and her kareshi for dinner tonight and what became a manga yomi daikai (manga reading fest)... before I threw out all my HanaYume, LaLa etc from last term. ^_^;

Momentous namings by Rabi-chan:
My car = "The Miko Mobile"
and
My Apartment = "The Miko Lair"... ^_^;;;;;

That's it for now... signing out. :P
