ok! got something!
Saturday, October 6, 2001 03:48 p.m.
not in response to anyone else's blog, but in response to something mizu said the other night on AIM.
today at the exam i saw the *sexiest* oriental guy i've seen in a looooong time! my guess is that he's chinese, but the possibility is there that he is korean. (he doesn't look very japanese). but **_** i wanted to follow him around all day! but unfortunately, we were assigned to different rooms! wah!! Oo>_<oO i guess that's a good thing, though, otherwise i'd spend the entire exam staring at him instead of at my paper (like at my history final last year. ^^) so, during our little recess break, i went for a little walk to try and find this yummy lil' baby, and where should i happen upon him but sitting on the front steps SMOKING!!! O_O now, i don't usually like smokers, but ... darnit this guy was *HOT*!!! ugh.
what does this have to do with mizzy, you ask? it proves her point about wanting to smoke just so you can hang out with the sexy guys in front of your building................. >_________>

that's *my* glam rock superstar name. *arches brows* whaddya think? ^________^
and on a different note:
waaaaah!!! ralfie's married now!!! *sniffle* T_T
but on the other hand this was funny:
"Apparently as a diversion Ralf had made an appointment for 11am at the Mirabell Caste. But the photographers and reporters gathered there waited in vain." - formula1.com
clever, clever ralfie... ^_____^ *schmoogles ralf-plushie*
hmm.. this entire entry seems to be a direct response to hase's.... i must remedy this by doing a response entry to some other people's blogs too! *flounces off*

i went to the DSC exec dinner tonight! ^O^ that's right, peeps, i'm an *exec*!!!
i'm in publications. we make brochures, newletters, and maintain the webpage. i originally signed up for graphics but the department was already full. so chris (the director of graphics, and quite the hottie) recommended me to publications because i have web experience. ^____^v so my director now is a cutie named kevin.
so anyways, back to this dinner thing... let me tell you, i was *not* meant to be a social person! 2 hours in and my face muscles were *tired*!! and this function was from 4:30pm - 10:00pm!!! >_< i met tons of people, and there were lots of cute guys, but @_@ boy am i bushed.
so... that's all i have to say for now. if i can think of a funny story about this, i'll blog tomorrow. ^_^v
classroom shenanigans
Wednesday, September 26, 2001 12:11 a.m.
set 1: blame it on the eng kids.
*ruckus outside*
prof: what is that?
class: *shrug*
prof: engineers?
set 2: skill testing questions.
prof: okay, you 3 have won the textbook draw! each of you have the chance to win one of 3 books if you correctly answer a skill testing question! *to girl1* are you ready?
girl1: yes.
prof: who was the social historian who examined Chinese urban centres as compared with European cities?
girl1: *chews on lip* Weber! Max!
*applause, girl1 takes book and sits down*
prof: girl2, are you ready?
girl2(that's me): no... but okay, what's the question?
prof: ... what's my name?
girl2: oh! *eyes widen* oh. my. um...... *glances wildly around* *sees friends mouthing the name* Peterson! ... uh.... Ken? Greg? is it only one syllable? one syllable words are hard to lipread!.... oh! GLEN!!!
*laughter, lots of applause*
prof: well... for knowing my last name, here's your book.
*more applause, a lot of blushing and i go sit down*
prof: now girl3, define social history.
girl3: it's the study of society more as it happened to regular people versus what was chronicled by the state historians. (and she said something else, but i forgot what ^^;;)
set 3: quiet in the hall!
*ruckus in the hall*
prof: you'll have to excuse me for a moment while i go out and decapitate someone. *smile*
playstation warfare...
Monday, September 24, 2001 04:43 p.m.
"Bad new for Chinese generals: The United States Commerce Department has just determined that the new Sony Playstation II...is powered by an American-made chip so powerful that Washington would have to be notified before it could be shipped to China. If the final destination were a company...linked to the Chinese military, a lengthy review would be required to make sure America's most sophisticated technology does not fall into the hands of bombmakers. But any Chinese officer determined to play out his fantasies on a state-of-the-art Sony-perhaps simulating a naval attack to retake Taiwan-has other options. He could simply send his teenagers over to shop at any of the five Toy "R" Us stores in Hong Kong, which is still considered a safe place to send advanced technology even though it reverted to China two years ago."
~ David Sanger (1999)
see what you learn when you study international relations? ^O^ i dunno... *i* thought it was funny... ^O^;; Sanger then went on to say that the American government was heavily lobbied by the computer industry's top execs to relax export laws or else "Europe and Japan will [be eating] their lunch."
