omeraisu!!
Tuesday, January 28, 2003 08:03 p.m.
yay~~ i'm so proud of myself! ^_^ i made chicken omelette rice for dinner! and it was actually nummy! ^O^;;;
i had it for the first time on saturday before the OLP concert. my friend, jenni, took me to a restaurant that serves japanese-style western food. it's chicken fried rice with ketchup instead of soy sauce, wrapped in egg like an omelette, and then there's more ketchup on top. yah... i know, sounds kinda sketchy, but you don't understand the depths to which i love ketchup, rice, and eggs. ^O^;;;
*sighs in happi tubbi bliss*

COME COME NAVEED!
Sunday, January 26, 2003 12:02 a.m.
w00t! Our Lady Peace concert *ROCKED*!!!
there were 3 opening acts tho. >_< Seether was good. Finger Eleven... had a lot of fans there but i felt they were overrated... and the Trailer Park Boys... are not funny. XP
BUT, then OLP came on and it was so good!!! they played a good mix between their old stuff and their new album~~~ and Raine gave us lots of opportunities to sing along~~~ *^_^*
At one point, during "One Man Army," Raine came off the stage!! he ran out into the audience and Jenni and i ran over to him!!! we were so close! only the bodyguards were between us and him! **_** unfortunately, raine's not into the shaking hands thing. >_< though, when he lifted up his shirt (kinda in an "i'm so angsty i'm ripping my clothes off cuz i feel dirty" kinda way) and some girl ran her hand right across his tummy!!! ^O^ then Raine fell on Jenni. ^O^;;; luckily the bodyguards were there, but she got to touch his shoulder to help push him back up! i only got to brush his jacket a little. *sniffle*
OLP also played 3 songs in their encore and for their last song (i didn't know it) they raised the stadium lights and let the audience pretty much sing the whole thing. then Raine ran down the length of the hockey rink and disappeared! ^O^
it was very very fun. ^___________^

poor poor harvey the hound...
Monday, January 20, 2003 11:48 p.m.
you know... so many years later, and i'm still a Calgary Flames fan. (hockey). I have such fond memories of sitting in the stands, all bundled up in a scarf and my winter jacket (cuz my mom told my dad that if i got a chill he would be in *so* much trouble) trying to see over the heads of the people in front of me. and one the things i remembered most was the mascot, Harvey the Hound. he's just... i dunno... so fun!
and so i was extremely shocked and angry to hear on the news that the coach of the Edmonton Oilers ripped Harvey's tongue off!!! the guy on the news said that the entire team (the Flames) were so stunned they just stopped and stared.
Now i know Calgary and Edmonton have sibling rivalry issues, but this is going too far! i'm so glad the Flames won (i would have said "trounced" but the score was 4:3).
i think the Oilers' coach should make public apology. *nod* otherwise i'm suing for emotional damages!!!

archived all the dirty stuff
and yet, this entry is *still* LoTR related! ^O^;;; but clean! wow. what a concept!
conversation between two kids, overheard while waiting for plane:
kid1: *points at kid2's necklace* woah! is that "the one ring"???
kid2: yup! *takes chain off and hands it to kid1*
kid1: where'd you get it?
kid2: oh, it came with my bookmark.
kid1: s'funny, cuz you don't look like frodo.
kid2: *a bit exasperated* yes, well, who'd want to be this height for the rest of my life?
kid1: do you think this is real gold?
kid2: no.
kid1: can you read the inscription?
kid2: no. gimme my chain back.
kid1: you're not frodo-like at all.
kid2: i never said i was!!!
^O^ they were both young, tho i'd say kid2 was older... possibly 10 or 11.
ps - the bookmarks the kid's talking about... i so wanted to buy them, the whole set... but then i realized i don't use bookmarks and i'd prolly lose them. 9_9
pps - the Two Towers series of the same bookmarks come with little "leaves of lorien" charms... and that bead that's painted like the giant flaming eye. ^_^
