*watchies german gp*
hmm... did half the drivers just wander their way out of the race??? O_o there were only 9 cars left by the last 10 laps!
ah well... *wavies schumi and ferrari flaggies again*
hmm... this is getting too easy... maybe i should start rooting for... takuma sato or sth... or maybe one of the toyotas seeing as they have such difficulty finishing races... 9_9;;
poor little ralfie, tho~~ the announcers last week weren't very nice to him. they said that last year it looked as if ralf would follow in his brother's shoes, but now he just isn't that great a driver and it's unlikely to happen. that ralf can't win the driver championship except in extremely odd conditions. ;_; so mean!
i wonder why montoya and ralfie looked so... grumpy on the podium in germany tho?
*shruggles and goes back to her beef barley soup... that has no beef, no barley, but LOTS of veggies*

can you scream for me?
Sunday, July 21, 2002 10:43 p.m.
sami-angst warning as she is living with parental units and that always causes angst. this is a white-on-white rant.
just in case my mother stumbles across my blog, which i doubt, seeing as she can't remember more than two urls at a time, but, you never know.
i have discovered the most hateful phrase on the planet. it is: "you should have _____." because it assigns blame. it is hateful when the speaker could not have done a better job themself. it is hateful when the speaker knows that the person they're addressing is only looking for a little validation but for some reason only known to God the speaker cannot bear to offer praise or any word of encouragement. for those who don't know, i'm talking about my mother.
she is the single most annoying person i know and yet love. she could not give me a word of encouragement if someone paid her. i do not know if this is an annoying chinese-mother-trait or if my mother is a freaking sadist. regardless, she is always putting me down.
today i finished making a little key chain plushie for a friend. it has flaws, i'm well aware. the neck is too floppy so that head droops when you hold it up by the key chain ring. but i figured, it's a gift i made for a friend, and it's pretty cute if you lay it flat or prop it up against something. throughout the production process my mom has been making little barbs at me. "i thought you were going to sew everything?" (i glued some bits) "aren't his legs too short?" "isn't his head too big?" (he's a chibi squall) "you should have given him blond hair" (he's SQUALL) but she's also been pretty nice too, telling me he's cute all the same... so i was happy enough when i finished today that i showed it to her, while admitting the floppy-neck syndrome that many of my plushie chibis suffer.
the first thing she said was: "you should have attached the ring differently. and it would have been better to use a chain."
WHO SAYS THESE KINDS OF THINGS TO SOMEONE'S FACE????
she didn't even say "good job" or "oh, that's cute". (even now, she still has not said it.)
then she follows up with: "will flo even like it?"
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! *grabs randow stuffed animal... (the little cow inky sent me) and screams into it*
even with my drawing, she does the same thing. "you should have made the body shorter. the legs shorter. why is he so feminine looking? you should have squared his jaw, made his eyes farther apart, and narrower."
ahhhhhhhh~~!!! it's called *style*!!!!!
i mean, i know i think these things about other people's fanarts, but i would *never* say it to anyone's face! unless they asked for criticism and even then i would preface the critique with a compliment!!!!!
and it's not like she can draw *or* sew!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
this first most hateful statement is then closely followed by: "you shouldn't have _______." eg. "you shouldn't have stuffed the legs so much."
i don't know why i bother. i have serious psychological problems caused by a mother who will not compliment me. i hope she realizes that i may need therapy later in life. no wonder i am constantly seeking approval from my friends to the point where i becoming annoyingly needy.
*sigh* what was that you were saying last week about my ability to stay sane while in calgary, aliya?
and in other news...
*WAVIES FERRARI FLAGGIES FURIOUSLY*
YAY SCHUMI!!!
i finally managed to wrench control of the tv long enough to see poor kimi's mess up and schumi's win.
*wavies flaggies s'more*
*grabs kitty, sets her to "attack mode" and sets her outside computer room door*
let's see the parental units get past that! hah!
(what do i have against my father, you ask? he keeps telling me that i eat an "amazing amount" and that i should lose weight because i'm "honestly fat".)
