Midian World Map
We finally finished the big world map. It's comprised of four big images, so may take a while to load. We're still planning on more detailed local areas, with roselines & cities & such, but at least you can see the big overall global perspective. We always test out our pages on multiple browsers, operating sytems, and connection types. However, the map page doesn't seem to be cooperating properly for everyone. It may ask for a login/password, or not load the images. If anyone is experiencing problems like these, or any others, let me know.

Forums
The forums are back, unaltered except that they're here instead of hosted by Ceekay, and there was much rejoicing... yea... We also have a secondary forum set just waiting in the wings. It's all ready to go, but is completely blank & unaltered from the default template. If something happens to the regular forums again, then it's just a matter of changing the links to point to the new one... and starting everything from scratch again... Getting the forums back (with all of the posts intact) was a big goal of Kinslayer's, so we are all glad to see them back & ready to jump back into the fray, right where we left off.

Death: The Pale Horse
It's official, Death: The Pale Horse, Book II in the Books of the Apocalypse series, is finally done. It's taken a couple of years, but I'm pleased with the final results.

Skills
Two skills that desperately needed to be added for the Rogue class were finally put in place: Streetwise, and HTH: Street. The former was a glaring oversite on our part, the latter was something we initially were going to wait for the War book to publish. However, both skills are needed now for roguish type characters; these are not the types to keep waiting too long...

Did some minor fixes, mostly by going back and forth on the preformatting for the random Trait & Background tables. They look much cleaner and easier to read, especially the Trait subtables. There are a few added sentences and paragraphs to the Character Generation chapter. Hopefully it is a bit easier to read and understand.
I also changed the Instincts Trait to 1D4 rather than 1D6 levels. Kinslayer (and I'm sure quite a few other GM's) agree with me on this.

The server died horribly... during a backup... with all data irrecoverable. Another computer was burdened with the additional task of acting as the new server, and the pages were rebuilt thanks to Ceekay's cache of the Midian pages, and a (very) old backup copy of the site. There may be inadvertant problems resulting from this while we try and scavenge everything from the rubble.

Added Virtual Classes. This means that if you know as much as someone who actually has that class--and fit the requirements for that class--then you effectively are that class.
Added social skill notes to the Interaction chapter, and ways to use them. New options for statuses were also added.

It's ironic, that the "Updates" page is the one least frequently updated. The introduction to the Social Interaction chapter has been redone--and added to significantly. Editing of the Death supplement is progressing slowly, but fairly steady. The physical portion of the map is done. Cities and such are still needed. Kinslayer decided not to include the full map. At least, not yet. A link to the Formour/North Byzant portion will be added to the Almanac (or Death), and other portions will be added to the various supplements as needed. I don't know what the status of the fan-created netbook is just yet; as we aren't making it...

Not much on the surface, but a great deal went on "under the hood." A gallery and review sections were added, this page is now mentioned on the main page (again), some visually minor--but extensive in task--changes were made.
The main difference is that we are now hosting the site in its entirety ourselves, at the Cardinal's office. This means a higher electric bill, and some other difficulties, but hopefully things won't get lost in the various versions. As it stands, we still have two html versions of everything (one is a backup on another computer), a pdf version of each chapter, a 7zip of the pdf's, and word-processor documents of each as well.

Many little edits, nothing major--as usual--but some typing & formatting errors were corrected. Both the html and pdf versions were edited and posted. The conglomerate files are still unchanged.
The pdf erratta has been updated to reflect the changes as well. As always, this reflects the alterations & additions from the first printing.
The map has stalled again. The essential parts are done, but Kinslayer wants me to add visual-impact elements. Unfortunately, some of these (namely the travel routes) are waiting on him to create more cities as destinations.

Many changes to the 'zine itself, but only minor changes to the Midian game: added Midian-related links from the main page to the Midian page. Specifically, the Game Master's section & this page.

Altered the rules for learning skills. Rather than doubling or cutting in half, with unlimited division/multiplication, the new guide is 10%, with a maximum of half base time or double normal time to learn.

Removed the zip version of the PDF. The 7zip archive has been updated & there are PDF files of each chapter separately.

First Book of the Apocalypse Famine—Wild Wastes—the Black Horse
The Attribute adds to the various shapes of werewolves was altered to use Traits. This has the same results as using Attributes, but is much less math for the player, & no longer requires 5 copies of the character sheet. The supernatural strength mentioned in the Lycanthrope description was clarified to apply only to level 5 & higher Alpha Packmasters. The other change was to decrease the frequency of pay for the Formourian military from weekly to monthly. The original frequency was designed with an all-military campaign in mind, without regard for the economic impact that would have. Changing the pay rate to monthly still means that the Formourian military is paid comparably to many mercenaries, but does not require excessive taxation nor dumps too much onto the local economies. Additionally, this helps ensure that Scouts don't leave in the middle of a military campaign--they are not contracted & can leave at any time.

First Book of the Apocalypse Famine—Wild Wastes—the Black Horse
The new supplement has been added. This covers the Farreaches, Hobgoblins, and (at long last) Lycanthropes.

Social Interaction
One major change (in between working on the new suppliment) was on the Comparative Appearance chart. We tweeked the modifiers a bit (all right, we fucked with the whole thing, usually for the worse), and added the three (3) new races that Ceekay created for the eastern continent. We had his help with the portion involving the new species.

The new forums are great. Definately worth checking out.

Just to clarify, the changes to the Midian DFRPG are editorial and net-related. The coding is cleaner, smaller, & will be more easily viewable on a greater number of machines. This is not a "second edition" or similar.
