Dinner Gathering at Iku's
Uh...today what did I do? Nothing. Again. Hehe! Sunday Jahson came as I was lying on my bed with my laptop trying to watch something... Hmm... Not Gankutsuou... Tactics? I don't think so... Oh! Kyou Kara Maou. Comment on that later. Anyway, I found out my laptop battery is officially dead, instead of just my suspicion it is. It's going to be a bitch to replace it (money-wise). Now I have to use AC power. It's no longer a choice. So I hop out of bed and let my brother in. We didn't go to Wal-Mart for a f-ing long time because I let him try installing Windows 2003 Office on my computer again. This time it worked, but what took long was my brother both decided to run a virus scan on my full computer and defragment it. Took forever despite him showing up early.

I spent well at Wal-mart. Only 25 bucks basically, and it would have been less if I didn't suddenly decide to buy deodorant because I scared I would run out of it soon. And I got everything I mentioned before. I thought I'd have to real careful about rationing food, but coupling stuff with ramen helps a lot. Megu never contacted me, so I assumed she had forgotten about meeting Jahson. I quickly ate a turkey sandwich a little after I returned from Wal-Mart. Okay, I've eaten sandwiches since I've been here, but not a Michi sandwich. Tasted so good. Oozing with Hellman's mayonaise... Oh, man. A treat. And a bowl of ramen later on, I think I did.

Today I just basically lied in bed, waiting for it to be lunch time. Yuri actually came back briefly before she left a little before 1:30. I was surprised so much time had passed. Oh. Last night I fell asleep watching the movie Sphere and when I woke up I saw a clip from Ted Alexandro (really funny comedian) in the Comic Remix thing they have on Comedy Central before I changed it back to HBO (which it had previously been on) to watch the movie Big Fish, which I've always wanted to see. It was good. Scary thing was whenever I did turn back to Comedy Central (forget what time it was) Ted Alexandro's actual 30-minute special was on that the other show had taken a clip from, so it was highly weird!

I watched Days of Our Life (my soap opera), trying to catch up on the months I had lacked to see it since I have class everyday at the time it comes on. Basically I missed a bunch of crap that probably would have been annoying to watch, waiting for it to get at the point it's already at. Then I showered really quickly with enough time to watch most of the following soap, Passions. I think during Passion I ate lunch. I think anyway. I had two hot dogs, finally noticing that there are 10 in the pack not eight, and a bowl of ramen. Made me pretty full. Yuri returned as I was finishing up the last hot dog and said she was going to work out at the center on campus.

I started to get cold, and therefore tired, a little after she left, but I decided I should try doing so kind of indoor exercise. So I like sprinted back and forth across the carpeted part of the room. Which is about eight feet or so. So not very long. As long as my heart beat went up it was okay. But it made me too tired, so I only kept it up for 15 minutes. Plus it was boring. Bad thing was that I stupidly took off my slippers (cuz I couldn't manuever well in them) and did this bare foot. Now my feet hurt in random spots. Then finally now that I had exercised, was warmer, and had started some downloads of anime I really shouldn't (another new one--I know!--and two episodes of Dragonball Z that have Freeza in it) I hopped back into bed. A little later Yuri returned and woke me up? I can't remember if I actually went to sleep or not.

Point is after that she invited me to go to Iku's house since she was cooking. I had been looking forward to her cooking something, so I came along. She called up Megu, but I guess she had already eaten or something, so she didn't come. So me and Yuri drove there in Kengo's car. Bad thing was that it started raining like crazy once we got outside, so I was glad we didn't walk there. I felt comfortable in the house since I had already looked around it before anything had been in it that day Iku and I had surveyed it. I found out maybe two days ago a girl named Rosa from my Japanese class was Iku and Caroline's third room mate. So I saw her there and she ate with us. Yuri basically made a dish of pork flavored with ginger. Kengo made what I thought to be kaarage or something that I remember from the International dinner that I had loved. Anyways, I ate quite enough (saved some of my food and ate better than I would have--quality and quantity-wise).

It was a lot of fun. Yuri and I acted like the pair of room mates who are close, but obviously have some issues--just joking around most of the time. She brought up the story of the shoes again. Yes, with the "FREE SHOES. (Just take)" thing. She keeps telling people that! This was her proof that I was a mean room mate. I finally got to get to know Kengo a little better. He seems pretty all right, which is good for my opinion of Japanese males. Iku was f-ing drunk like the whole time. She was all giggly and hyper. And she had like only one beer! I had a beer too. And a capri sun. And a Cherry coke (I brought it). Plus, she kept showing a quick peek at her skin-toned colored underwear. I dunno why.

I liked dessert too. Iku gave me a bowl of vanilla ice cream and poured some hot esspresso over it. Tasted great. After a while it became just me, Rosa, and Kengo in the kitchen talking. Well, I mostly listened. Toward the end of my stay, she told us about some skits that the students had to perform at Kansai Gaiden. She spoke of one that poked fun at the gaijin (maybe typical American gaijin especially) stereotypes. Like the anime nerd. I thought about later how I'm like a closet anime nerd. The type Rosa was talking about that only talks about anime/manga all the time and only knows their Japanese or Japanese culture from these mediums. I mean, the latter thing's not so true (I base most of my knowledge on what I observe from Japanese here and what I've learned in school), but I do devote too much time to anime/manga. But still. I liked that Kengo mentioned how his father, 51 years-old, still enjoys manga and how when he would come home Kengo would notice his manga would be slightly out of order because his father had looked at them. So funny. I hope I still enjoy it at that age.

Before going (yes Yuri was staying, but I like that because I can watch TV all night) Yuri proposed a plan for the day for us tomorrow. Um, exercise at 9, shower, study, and then go to Iku's to eat. Two other Japanese are supposed to be coming. One named Sachiko or something or other and another named Hiro. Don't know them, but I was pleased that I guessed the former was a girl and the later was a boy. It's good I'm becoming more familiar with common Japanese names. I dunno if she'll remember to do that, but I may go with her. Lord know I need to exercise. Will I study? Um... maybe. I do need to get that stuff done for my Thursday class. Two assignments that basically need to be done on the internet. Also check out the closing case for Management. Hmm... Anything else? Japanese no. Accounting no. Econ no. Theatre no. Just those two I need to stay on top of. I wonder if that Foreign Language office will be open. If it were. That'd be nice.

Okay, wrapping up. I've gotta use the bathroom. Plus, I may go to bed early or something. Oh! I'm planning to write this story about me and Yuri. Well, based on us. It's supposed to poke fun at the hardships of a black girl and a Japanese girl living together. More typical, not the real us. Should be fun. Especially if I can let Yuri read it tomorrow. Iku too. I want her to be in it. Hehe.

Quote from Ted Alexandro: People. People. People--Listen up. People--Get him. People. If any of your neighboors or relatives have any paper towel rolls start bringing 'em in. Bring 'em in. Bring 'em in.
