Wednesday, April 13, 2005 11:43 p.m. Wednesday the Thirteenth!!
Yeah, for me, there's nothing more scary than Wednesday the thirteenth. Why? Cuz I hate Wednesdays, so you know the 13th of a Wednesday's gotta be the mother of all crappy Wednesdays... Anyway, today wasn't great at all... I went to bed last night sad and woke up all sad (and was kinda behind despite I went to sleep early and woke up a little early). In theatre, we talked a little about Rent. I hate Rent. It's a musical that my sister kept listening to songs from it. Drove me insane. I wanted to kill her and the guy who made 'em (but he's already dead...)
In Econ, I found out the Lecture thing on Tuesday was for extra credit. Good job, stupid Michi. I could have assured myself an a real A. Now I have to not care. Or pretend I went to see it by interviewing someone who did. But I'm not going to do that. I'll just accept my A minus and shut the hell up. I actually was so down, when a girl asked me if I was okay, I started crying a little as I explained I was just a little down. I couldn't believe it. During my 11 o'clock break I researched a little for my theatre design project. I ran out of time to check-out books, but I decided to do so after all my classes were over.
Accounting was boring as ever... and I once again listened to music during class. That class and Japanese are the only ones I do that from time to time. Double T, later, tried to console me, but I didn't cheer up much. I tried to go to C-S's office to see about my recommendation, but she wasn't in her office, nor did she have any office hours that really went with my schedule. So I'm screwed. I emailed her a week ago and I still have shit. So I'll have to wait to late September. That saddens me to no end, but there's nothing I can do now. I really should have gone Tuesday. Tuesday was the day of should ofs! God, I should curl into a ball on the floor and cry...
So after failing to C-S, I went to library and grabbed some random books on Japanese history to get an idea of what to do for my project. Was gonna skip lunch, but decided to go anyway. Pizza and a bowl chilli. Then an ice cream cone. Jumped up on my bed when I got home and tried to read up on history from one of the books. Took a slight break from it when I fell asleep and then studied some more. Then I watched the first episode of Tsubasa Chronicle. It was good! Of course, Sakura and Syaoran don't have the same voices (none of the Cardcaptor characters in there did), but it was still good. Touya looks really sexy, but his voice (the Tsuzuki from Yami no Matsuei and Allen from Escaflowne) is scary. I don't know why! I'm trying to figure it out... He had to have some character that must have freaked me. Cuz I've felt this way since I say his character as a teacher of dubious methods in Sukisyo. I dunno... Maybe he's just became scary over night, but he'll be the first seiyuu ever. The Kurei voice only was scary after Kurei (and other freaks he's done). And Muraki voice (though I heard Wolfwood first and was fine) was only scary until Muraki (which I later got over).
Fai looks cute in there. Not sure who his voice is. Oh! Yukito is the voice of Murata from Kyou Kara Maou. Great casting. Syaoran seems too soft, which bothers me a bit. I like how Touya kept calling him "kozou (brat/kid)" and muttering how he didn't like him. Just like in Cardcaptor. But in this anime, Sakura's dad is Syaoran's deceased dad... and I think that Dimensional Witch lady they (Sakura/Syaoran, Fai, and Kurogane) were sent to was from X. I think. I can't remember all the people in there. There were too many. Too bad it doesn't look like there will be any good villains... Oh, well. I doubt I'll stop watching this one. Looks like a keeper to me. Trying to get Loveless now. I read a little of the manga and it wasn't too bad, so I'm going to try it. Kyou Kara Maou 35-38 is downloading... So much anime to catch up on! But it's great cuz I just bought a new spindle of CDs. So I can download like a madwoman and catch up on my excess during the summer. I'll be mad if I can't do this by the time I gotta get the hell out of here...
Eating a sandwich right now... May do some more research before going to sleep. Yuri's gone. I didn't talk to her much today cuz I was depressed. But I let her know and we talked a little before she left. She said when she was little (like a year old or something) people kept commenting she never smiled. I told her to stop telling me stuff that was sad. I joked a little, too, about her being "little." Reminds me of the old days with Toya G. Those were the days... Leprechaun... Oh, well. Those were the days. The days today are guitar and hellish. But that's how we do in Jigoku Dani.
Quote Toya G: Anyway, anyhow, anywho...

Tuesday, April 12, 2005 09:46 p.m. "When you're feeling down, you should never fake it."
Not in great mood right now. Despite the weather has been great since... I guess Friday maybe. I'll try to catch up on some events. The most important being the formal on Saturday. Stupidly, I decided to wake up and go to Arby's for lunch. The truth was, I wasn't even that hungry. Which is never good if I don't have an appetite, cuz I can always usually eat. So I actually had to put some of it into the fridge for later. I've already forgotten what I did before it was 3, the time I said I would shower and start getting ready for the formal. I don't think I watched any anime at that time, although I could have watched the end of Tactics easily.
Anyway, at three I showered for like a hour (cuz it took me a while to get set up and all) and then sat around in sweatpants and a bra (though it was hard to tell cuz I had a small sweater jacket on) for a while because I thought to myself, "if I get ready now I'll just be sitting around in my dress and Yuri will come in." And not too long afterwards as I was reading manga or something, Yuri and Iku stumbled in. I was really surprised then. Yuri, as always, was like, "you ready?" So I had to make a sarcastic statement. Of course. I'm sitting in sweatpants and practically just a bra.
So Iku gets ready in our room, and I take my time to do my hair, which was essentially the only other thing I needed to do. Um... My hair straightener is just guitar. Barely works. But it was better than nothing. Then I sprayed on a little perfume, put on a little jewelry (I don't own much), and put on my shoes. Oh. I had to put on my dress before I did my hair because it requires me to put it on in a way that flips up my hair (and would ruin almost any hairdo with my kind of hair), so I had it halfway on while I did my hair. Basically, this means I had it on at the top, but I had it rolled up around my middle, so that my sweatpants were almost completely visible. Yuri turned to me and was like, "what are you wearing?" Hehe.
Because of Iku (and she's the president of AIS), I had to go the formal even earlier. I had thought 5:15 was too early, but I had to be ready by 5:00. So we leave Bica Ross (my dorm), leaving behind a Yuri looking passed out on her bed (sad for a person spending their birthday) and wait outside briefly for our ride. While waiting we see two Japanese guys in black suits, one with an ugly ponytail. Iku was like, "they look like they're going to a funeral." They did, but they also reminded me of Yakuza (ya know, the mofia), especially the ponytailed guy. I dunno. Must be reading too much manga or something.
We rode with some red-headed girl whose name I've forgotten. It'll come to me later. Anyway, we also had Caroline Han (Vietnamese) and her date come with us. The funny thing was that when we first went to her house she was standing outside with some other guy who looked Asian and was in a suit. We thought that was her date, until we had to leave and come back for her because she had to get rid of an unexpected guest. We were returned, the other guy was gone and a new Asian guy was there, who in mine and the white girl (the redhead was the only white girl there)'s opinion was less cute. He seemed nicer, Iku and I agreed, but the other guy seemed hotter. Oh, well. It didn't take us long to get there and it seemed to be a nice hotel.
It sucked being there so early, but I got to sit wherever I wanted and I got to see most people come in. Megu's dress was beautiful! I really liked it. It was dark blue and glitterly. I wish that that was the one she had let me borrow. I sat directly next to Sarah Demming (I think that's her last name) whom I had met at the Japanese speaking-partner party at Aiko's some weeks back. She was pretty nice. I got pictures with her and some other people. I saw Mariko, in a cute purple dress, who seemed she was going to sit with us, but sat a table back with a large group of Japanese people (including ponytailed Yakuza man). Megu, another redhead who was friends of Megu and some others there, Caroline Han, Iku, Kengo, and eventually Double T (who came a little late) all sat at the same table together. Oh, of course, Caroline's boyfriend sat with us. The food we got was decent. It wasn't amazing, but hell, much better than the slop at Jigoku Dani's favorite instituion. Mashed potatoes with a little bit of the skins in them, bread, rice (which was a little too flavorless I thought and later most agreed with me), and some chicken thingy... It was pretty good. I lacked to get the cheesecake, which everyone said was great. Mostly because I didn't have a fork. The waitress took mine away....
We were given a form to fill out superlatives of the dance. Stupid things like Queen, King, Miss/Mr. Cute, Mr./Miss Funny, Miss/Mr. Elegance, Miss/Mr. Sexy, Mr./Miss Busy, Miss/Mr. Party, and... Uh... I dunno if there were any more. On Monday, when I was goofing around outside the Campus ground with Yuri and Iku before my management class, we argued about who had won what. On Sunday or maybe it was Monday, I told Yuri the highlights of who had won. Caroline (from the West Indies) won Miss Funny. Which was good, cuz you have not seen that girl dance. She is hilarious. She does some crazy things. Oh. There was also Mr./Miss Smile. I forgot who won those. Iku got Queen! Hehe. The chinese guy here, Fumin I think he's called, won King. It's funny because when I told Yuri later she was like, "oh, okay. I don't like him." She doesn't usually say that because she doesn't care about people enough to have a strong preference for them.
Yeah... I danced. Mostly after Mariko encouraged me, but several people kept pulling me up to the dance floor. Iku kept complaining that I hadn't dance, but that was only beause she was gone doing things most of the times I got up and danced. They finally did my song. Yeah. The Cha-Cha Slide! It's not even a great song, but I love it. Ever since I was like in 11th grade man, that was my jam. Later, they did Family Affair by Mary J. Blige, so you know I had to get my "ass on the dance floor." But it was too hot. I tried to get pictures of some people dancing, but it was hard cuz they were moving and it was dark. I doubt many of my pictures came out okay. There was this one point where Mariko and I were dancing and some white guy was dancing with us. He was dancing kinda funny, which I thought was nice, but then he starts talking and then introduces himself. But only to Mariko. It was then I was like, "hmm...okay, so he's into her," so I left to take pictures of people. Mainly of Iku who kept dancing with this Japanese guy with bleached hair. She tried to turn her head away, but eventually she left me take a photo. Mari eventually came too, though not many hours were left. Her and her boyfriend...Testu? I guess that's his name. Yuri told me later on I don't have to know his name and we should refer to him as "Mari's." That's it. And if I ask Mari about him I should say, "hey, how's your's?" Weird, but we think it's funny. I got a pic of those two dancing as well. Kengo was doing some crazy dances man. It was hilarious. Him and this other guy full of energy. Also, the guy I think I mentioned before was like the most unattractive Japanese guy on campus (whom I swear I'm seen trying to dress all thugged out for some reason) was doing some crazy dances. Someone had told me his name before, but it was only Saturday I remembered it. I guess he's named Hayato. He won two superlatives... Mr. Busy and Mr. Funny? Maybe. I dunno.
Anyway, not much left to say about the party. Pretty good time. Now, then we get back to Bica Ross and what do we find in my room? Uh, a drunk-up Yuriko Saitou! Man, there was an empty bottle of wine on the window sill (which mainly made me angry cuz I had told her repeatively that I wanted some wine) and she eventually lied on her bed like she was dead. Iku and I were dead worried. She kept shaking as she laid and looked to be having some problems breathing. I was so f-ing worried! Then she liked disappeared and Kengo came by, but I told him she was gone or something and then Iku and some other Japanese I didn't know came looking for her (cuz I thought Iku and Yuri had left the room together, but it wasn't like that). I got worried that she was locked into the bathroom, but we were just locked out by our suitemates (bitches next door). Yuri stumbled back in and Iku and I kept monitoring her until they got a phone call (Kengo, I think) and the two left. I think Yuri went to Kengo's or something, so since he's a trustworthy person, I had no more worries. Well, I mean, she could have still died. I wanted to shake her and say, "You idiot! Don't drink so f-ing much by yourself!! What the hell are you thinking?? You want to die that badly??" I'm serious. To quote Jahson, "she needed the kufie smacked off her head." Don't ask what that's supposed to mean. Just something to say when someone's acting stupid.
Sunday, I didn't get to see much of her, which wasn't too good. Jahson and I went to Walmart and then I talked to him a bit about Iku. After I was done he was convinced he should meet her and knock the kufie off her head. Hehe. I'm not sure what I did for the rest of the day, but all I had was Econ homework and my Joined at the Head review. I didn't start until like nearly 10 or at 10. So I didn't get to bed until like 2 or something. When I woke on Monday, of course, I had a headache. I think Monday was uneventful, really. It must have been then that I got to talk to Yuri about the events of Saturday. I found out she and her "boy" (who the hell is it?? Nearly every Japanese person I know was at the formal! I must find out!!) went to dinner at a Chinese restaurant (I had asked her to the same lunch before *rolls eyes*) and then it was that moron who had given her that bottle of wine as a present. But there's more. This idiot gave her this and then said he couldn't drink it with her because he was "stupid," as Yuri had said. I figured out that meant he was high on mary jane. Couldn't believe it. So he just goes home to lie down and leaves her alone. Can I kick this guy's ass? Who is he?? All I know is that he's a moron and he likes to get high sometime. I can't go around ask the Japanese population if they light up or something. Geez. I dunno. I still wanna know.
Um... Must of have been Monday night that I watched Gankutsuou 22-23. I thought it was the end except I was like, "uh...where's our denouncement? (theatre vocabulary)" No, but it was great. The Count and Albert talked about his past, while old man crazy Ferdanard (Al's dad) started attacking Paris and using his military force to take over as President. Insane! So Albert ran to stop him, but his mother came to see the "ECON" first. He was losing it and he shot her when she said she was going to leave him. I thought she was dead and when Albert came in just to see his mom on the floor in a pool of blood, he shot Albert too. It looked like he was going to then commit suicide, but no, he had to make sure he killed Edmond Dantes (aka the Count). So he got his Escaflowne-looking battle thing and flew over to the Count's place.
I had flashbacks of the fight between the Count and Franz, a little, though of course, Al's dad can fight better (I hope so since he was like a general of the military). But he lost and I thought the Count was going to kill him then, but he was having trouble controlling the Gankutsuou's spirit within him and starting screaming in pain. Ol' Ferd tried to take this advantage, but was unable to do so. Albert finally was rescued by those two thugs working for the Count and they flew on a vehicle to where the two were fighting. By the time he gotten there, Haydee had tried to stop the fight and had gotten taken hostage by Ferd with a gun to her head. The Count had stopped, but then Albert got a gun to his head by the thugs. I was so surprised that Ferd cared! I mean, he really, really didn't want Albert to get killed. He let Haydee go and was begging the Count to let Albert go, but the Count wanted Albert to die to make Ferd suffer. Eee...
But Albert was protected from the bullet the Count tried to send into Albert's head by one of the thugs that had taken a shining to Albert. Yay! I later found out after all this time, he was the voice of Kuroudo! What!! How could I have missed that. Though, I thought his voice sounded familiar... Well, some other stuff happened, but eventually Albert was able to reach the Count's heart and get that Gakutsuou soul out of him and return him to his normal face (not blue, not sharp teeth and crazy). Edmond Dantes then died, of course, but first he wanted Albert to always remember his name, which I guess Albert would.
See, and then Albert and Haydee escape with the two thugs and Ferd stays with the dead Edmond, crying on his kness. The place is crumbling to oblivion, but regardless Ferd shoots himself. Today, I saw the last episode. Mostly, it takes place five years later and shows everyone. Albert looked hot for three seconds! He's now 20 and he was wearing glasses for those three seconds. I was like, Sanzou! Woo!! But it was nice. You got to see most of everyone who was still alive and what they were doing. Albert went to visit Franz's grave (I'm tearing up again) and made comments about the past years and what he was planning to do with the rest of his life. Then he hears Eugine playing in the distance and runs toward it. She had coincidentally been in town and was visiting the same church. And basically it ends. I say, great anime. I don't really have any complaints. Doesn't go into the top favorites, but it goes into favorites. It was great.
I also started a new anime. The Law Ueki. Um. Okay. What?? I'm sure I started this cuz it had Akira Ishida in it. When you watch as many animes as I do at one time, you forget why you start them sometime, so until said seiyuu pops up, I sit there going, "why am I watching this?" This is a weird anime about turning trash (gomi) into trees! What?? What kind of dumb power is that! But I like the main guy, Ueki. He's voiced by Al from Full Metal Alchemist! Yay! And he's got that Ryouma from Prince of Tennis "I-care-about-nothing" kind of attitude. I love it. And I saw the Ishida character--he was there only like two minutes and I think he's just what I want! Looks suspicious and mischeivious and he's using "boku!" There's nothing better than hearing him being in "Xellos" mode. I'm excited. I hope I won't be let down. Also there was this crazy doctor in there who was insanely mean. I mean he was stomping on a sick woman. What?? And he was hitting people with a whip in the middle of a street (or bridge, I guess). What kind of city do these people live in?? But I think I'll stick with it. It seems okay cuz it doesn't immediately remind me of another anime and it's got a good Akira Ishida character. I think of all my favorite seiyuu, he has done the greatest number of characters I sincerly like. Most of my other favs, I only sorta like them because I like the voice. And downloading more anime... So much! They like released everyhing in the past couple of days! Geez! And the new anime season is tempting me to start new ones regardless I haven't finished those from the fall season. Trying to catch up on Fantastic children, though I haven't watched in forever. Well, I haven't done that of Naruto either.... but...
Anyway, today was stupid. Went to Wellness and had to run the track in the stadium outside. 6 times. Yuri said this was a mile and half. Took me 20 minutes. Whatever. I was supposed to do push-ups and sit-ups, but I didnt cuz I ran out of time and showed the man my notebook and had points off cuz I didn't have my chapter 8 labs. I was going to do them, but I wasn't sure. Well, I'm an idiot. Now I have to have everything done by next Tuesday. Oh, no... I'm screwed... Whatever I'm screwed on all levels. Ate (not feeling very hungry) and later went to dinner with Yuri. I'm really feeling like shit lately. I don't think I'll ever cheer up...
