If anyone out there reading is a vegetarian family with young children, you might be interested in Vegetarian Baby & Child. I subscribed mostly for the yummy sounding kids recipes in hopes I can get my picky eater to expand her menu.

Nine Months & Counting has the most beautiful and striking artwork of a pregnant woman I've ever seen. It perfectly embodies my view on pregnancy. *sigh* (now go see, and read it!)

It's a miracle! My extremely picky hard-to-feed daughter has been enjoying broccoli the past week. She's eaten it a few times, and not just a few bites. This is the first time she's ever eaten vegetables, ever. I used to try and hide babyfood veggies in her macaroni 'n cheese but she caught on and stopped eating it. Also, I tried giving her carrot juice mixed with apple, and she loved it! Carrot juice is way healthy! So I feel beyond relieved right now and so happy I could hop up and down!

Brenna is 18 months old today!!!!!!!!!!

I've never really gotten around to decorating Brenna's room because we never use it. She's always slept with us, and so her room is primarily just for clothes storage. Now that she is getting older I'd like to make it pretty. The jungle animal wallpaper border I bought while pregnant doesn't seem suitable any more because it's rather babyish. So after trying to decide between a Mary Engelbreit paperdoll and fairies theme, I've chosen fairies. The only reason I was considering ME was because I love her magazine and collect the paperdoll pages in each issue. I thought they'd be cute framed. But well, I've always loved fairies. So it is. I went ahead and ordered a couple things for her room today.

From the Paragon catalog:
I got the rectangle rug, not round but here is the design: fairy rug and fairy wallpaper cutouts:

I'm not very good at decorating and tend to put things off forever but I'd like to have her room done by her 2nd birthday.

Something bad happened here today. Brenna climbed up to the wall partition separating the tv room from the front room, and fell off somehow. It's a narrow shelf about maybe a food wide. The whole thing happened while I was just a few feet away, busy in the kitchen. She bit into her bottom lip splitting it open. Blood was everywhere and she was screaming so loud. I felt, and still feel, just terrible. I should have known better. She's been climbing up to that partition for awhile now by using the loveseat that sits beneath it. We even talked about moving the loveseat or putting something on the other side in case she falls. I guess we should have taken action right away when we thought of it or this wouldn't have happened. Luckily the split sort of melded back together and it's not as bad now as it was when it happened. However, it's not exactly pretty either so our plans to have photos done tomorrow on her 18 month birthday are out of the question.
