Last night was the first time Brenna stayed in her own bed, in her own room all night long. I can't remember what time we put her down but maybe it was around 9. She didn't come into bed with us until about 7 a.m. Before this the longest she'd stayed in her own bed was until 5 a.m. so I think she is getting more used to it. We have had quite a few nights where she gets up around midnight or so to join us and we usually just let her come in. We knew this would be a gradual process. However, we both think she is doing great. Last night is proof of that.

Monday, February 18, 2002 08:24 a.m.

Just now Brenna came up to me with a book to look at together, with jungle animals in it. I was pointing to all the animals and asking her what they were and we came to a parrot. She just kind of looked at it and wouldn't say, so I said "that's a bird". Then she looks up at me with this incredulous look and said "No mommy! That's a parrot!" as if to say "duh!" LMAO!!!!! Tom and I just about died laughing.

This morning Tom brought us breakfast in bed because it's my birthday. Brenna was there with me because we had both slept in rather late. "It's Mommy's birthday today." we said. She then promptly said, "'appy birthday, Mommy!" and gave me a kiss!! She can be so absolutely sweet sometimes.
