I thought I'd mention the progress being made on Bren sleeping in her own room. The night before last she went to sleep on her own without me laying down with her. I tucked her in, read some books and turned the light out without any problems. Last night we put her down around 8:30 or so, and she stayed in there until 3:30 a.m. when she came and crawled into bed with us. So I think it is going pretty well.

A few new photo pages are up.

We have a new challenge in our lives. Brenna can now easily open the refrigerator door.

Well, tonight we put Brenna to sleep in her own bed for the first time ever. We decided it might be time to start weaning to her own room. Anyway, she was getting tired and so I went up with her and laid down. She needed a little convincing but she went down and was asleep in about fifteen minutes whereupon I got up and went downstairs to watch a DVD with Tom. She is still asleep there on her own, 2.5 hours and counting. We've tried putting her on a bed in our bedroom before and it never worked because she'd wake up and sleep with us anyway so we gave up. It was really no big deal, I like sleeping with her and so does Tom but we are at a point now we feel like having some alone time together in the bedroom at night if just to sit together in bed watching David Letterman or a movie or reading...so we figure even if she only sleeps in her room half the night, that is okay. Anyway, I am going through some major anxiety over this though. I know many parents do this from Day One (how?!) and she'll be fine but I am not sure I can sleep apart from her now. I'll probably be up every hour checking on her.

Brenna played over at her friend Abby's today. There are a couple photos up of them dressing up and being silly.

I finally got around to weighing her and she is about exactly 30 pounds. No wonder I have a hell of a time getting her in and out of the carseat. She is still about 37.5 inches tall and holding on that now for a couple months or so.

I've been such a bad mommy and not taking note of all the adorable (and not so adorable) moments in Bren's life lately. She does something at least once a day that I want to remember forever. One I can think of most recently was a couple days ago I had fallen asleep on the sofa while Tom was with her upstairs. She came down later at some point when I was barely half awake and came up to me not saying anything. I kept my eyes closed. Then without a word she went over to the throw blanket in the corner and brought it over to cover me up. She then went back upstairs without a peep. I was so touched at that moment. She loves me. :-)
