Whee! Janaki, thanks lots- Ive always wondered who sang that song in Kiki's Delivery Service. *_* Arai Yumi? We used to listen to one of her CDs in my middle school Japanese class, or rather just the one song...and sensei said the singer was the same. I've always wanted to find that other song, and now I can~! Whee~~~!

It was incredibly catchy. "Itsudatte! I love you! More than you! You love me sukoshi dake! Kataomoi!" Many, many listens to that on repeat during that class. Fufufu.

I LOVE the new Digimon Frontier designs...specifically, Kouji and Izumi. The new goggle boy looks cute too, but Kouji Kouji Kouji. I mean, really, what is Digimon without a Token Angsty Prettyboy? H_H The cast also has a fat kid (interesting) and a Takeru lookalike.

And we're back to the bigger cast. With a bigger cast, perhaps we'll get back to the joyous world of Digimon slash. I like that world. :D

Speaking of which- Jin, LOVE the Digi fic. I needed a good Daiken fix. XD

Saturday, January 26, 2002...

Deal. Although most of the damage is done simply by the fact that you made me think of it, and then, worse- consider it.

In other news besides the happy world of incestuous slash, I've been alternating between watching Inuyasha and Buffy episodes that I've been downloading. *_* Inuyasha- that youkai bandit guy...can't remember what volume of the manga he was in? 17, 19, somewhere around there? was played by Koyapi, so I was entertained. Most of the time, the Inuyasha anime is word-for-word from the manga, but then it'll throw in something new that'll be really amusing or touching. I like it. :3

As for Buffy, I've been watching a lot of seasons two and three these days. Oz and Willow factor, basically. I really, really like those two. I'd be the first to admit that I'm a romantic sap, but those two are really great to watch- I don't think I've seen a TV or movie romance recently when I'm glued to the screen believing completely that two characters love each other so much. Just amazing, amazing acting skills...I'm literally flooded with a warm, fuzzy feeling when I watch them being cute. Also watched "Wild At Heart" today. Cried. Am longing to rant to Alica on Monday about it, as Ali (who is still preaching about conformity to the masses) will not watch Buffy with me and thus does not care about my crazed rantings as I catch up on reruns. Alica, meanwhile, has apparently seen all but one episode or something, so I can rant to her.

(Last week...)
Meimi: *clings to Ali, after watching "Lovers Walk" the night before* It was a PEZ DISPENSER of LOVE, Ali!!
Ali: ........riiiight.
Meimi: *wail* A PEZ dispenser of LOVE! And she just went on, wihout full CONSIDERATION of the MEANING of the PEZ dispenser of LOVE!
Ali: Right.
Meimi: ....you don't care about the PEZ dispenser of love at all, do you?
Ali: No. Not at all.
Meimi: ....
Alica: *pops up*
Meimi: *flings self at Alica* ALICA~!! I watched "Lovers Walk" last night and it was a PEZ DISPENSER OF *LOVE*! HOW COULD SHEEE~?!
Alica: *seriously* I know. You can't just let something like that go.
Ali: .........

Um, and Alica told me I was "accepted" into their Buffy community or something. I was kind of disturbed that she said such a thing, but then ended up making a list, and found that in roughly two weeks, I've watched...er, twenty-seven episodes. And only three of those episodes I watched on TV. ^^;;; Kind of scary.

Kikyo-chan, I really think that when it gets right down to it, it's really not a person's technique in art that really matters. It's the love you have for art that shines through in drawings, much more than the actual technique. But if you love drawing enough, then you do it a lot, and that just naturally leads to getting better. As long as you love what you do; that's really what matters when you get down to it, deshou? At least that's what I think...

Sore ni, you're not "average" at all. :D Frankly I admire your drive; the first chapter of my manga with Shiori has been like, months in the making and it's only now that the sketch form is finally getting finished up. It's hard work to draw a manga, but look at yours? So many chapters. I hope my manga-drawing skills can be as unstoppable as yours. :D

So, as long as you love drawing, and keep trying, then you'll always get better! Just keep doing what you're doing, because you're already amazing and have a lot of talents as an artist I admire. Koko made no you ni ganbareba, kitto motto, motto suteki na koto ga okoru yo. Kitto ne. Datte, akiramenai de ganbareba, nandemo dekirun deshou? Koko made yatta koto wa sugoi nan dakara- manga mo kaiteru shi, yomeru hito mo iru shi, sore de sono yomeru hito-tachi wa Kikyo-chan no manga ga daisuki nan deshou? Motto jishin motte yo ne? Kikyo-chan wa sugoi da to omou kara ne, atashi wa. :D

Monday, January 21, 2002..."Boy on boy- not too bad." "Makes your lunch taste good deshou?"

Done with Karekano; it was only a few hours since I only watched the episodes I hadn't seen. Will rewatch episodes 3-5, 7, 8 (?) later in the week since I haven't seen those in uh, two years. Who am I kidding; I just wanna watch Asapin's intro episode...I just have such respect for him. He's the most amusing character in the series, but also posesses the most (cleverly disguised?) intelligence and understanding. Come to think of it, he seems to completely understand everybody.

All in all, great series...but if I had been directing things, I would have swapped things around so Yukinon's dream in episode 24 would have ended the entire series. Got bored near the end. ^^; I didn't like episode 25 much simply because it could not have been more random, and episode 26 just seemed like an attempt from whoever directed the end, to create an Anno-like ending? (I might not have cared, but my copy was clearly a videotape encoded, as opposed to dgital fansub...and the subs were tiny and mostly impossible to read, and pasted DIRECTLY over the much more-readable Japanese. Seeing as how there's almost no dialogue in the last episode... *twitch*)

My-chan, glad you got the package. ^^; Enjoy? Like the new layout a lot, too.

Hmm...have a huge paper to write (it's due tomorrow morning, of course of course) but definitely looking forward tomorrow. Alica, being the wonderful person that she is by supplying me with Buffy episodes, should be lending me the season three highlight boxset tomorrow. Whee!

While I'm at it, anyone know of any decent Buffy fic? >_> Don't make me go through FFnet anymore.

Totally happy. Had another impromptu sleepover with Ali and Les- it was supposed to be a study party, but due to problems with me getting over to Ali's house, it was too late to coherently study anything by the time we all got there- but not too late to watch the piece of tripe that is....Earthian~!

I swear I've never seen such crap in my life. I convinced Les to buy that, too. Sure, the whole concept of gay angels with WINGS sounds good...but it's so, so BAD. The show couldn't make up its mind whether it wanted to be a smutty show about winged bishounen, or some kind of futuristic sentai-like show with battleships blowing up Tokyo. And stuff. I almost died laughing when I saw the cross-shaped battleship blow Japan away. Also, to all people who fuss over yaoi sex scenes: don't get me all worked up, only to find out it was everyone making a big fuss out of nothing. Gravi OVA, hello? And now Earthian? THAT! Was NOT! SMUT! It can only be smut if it lasts like, several minutes, not two or three seconds.

Right.

So after that, we marathoned Kenshin, but I was kind of tired. After about six episodes, I faded in and out of sleep...just dozed the entire night. Did get to finally see the Hiko episodes, although I did fall asleep during the kind of important part...

Hiko: Now, go and use Hiten Mitsurugi Ryuu Ama Kakeru no Hirameki blah blah blah...
Meimi: *squint* ...did he...teach it to Kenshin...when I was asleep?
Les: ...yes.
Meimi: ....oh.

Missed Aoshi's fight with Kenshin, and pretty much all of Saitou's fight with Usui. Kind of disappointed since those were fights I wanted to see really badly. ^^; Might keep on buying the DVDs though, since I really wanna see everyone fight Shishio and that's where the Seta DVD leaves off.

Anyway...Les, in all her sparkly-ness, gave me all of KareKano and the first 43 episodes of Inuyasha on CD. Also some AMV we watched last night. Reccomended: the anime parody of the LotR movie preview (GAH. XD), and Cowboy Bebop: Failed Experiments in Video Editing (which anybody who's ever just attempted to make an AMV can relate to). Off to watch Karekano, and gaze at Arima in all of his pretty glory. XD

More randomness about today...we almost got killed during the car ride since Mr. Y was driving (he's like, the most unsafe driver ever- swerves between lanes with no blinker, just crazy stuff; it's a miracle nobody's been killed yet) and I got slammed into the window when he...I guess we can call it 'parked'. It hurt. On the return car ride, I sat in the first van seat behind where normal cars have a passenger seat near the driver. For some reason- no passenger seat in this van. So I got the full view as we swerved and almost ran lights and things. It was quite scary, yet amusing.

Since the performance went through lunch, after we stuck around to see the torch-bearer run past, we dropped by Burger King to grab food. Then we got into a discussion about LotR boys (the verdict: everyone but me thought that Elijah Wood wasn't cute besides his EYES (what else? ^^;), and everyone fought over Legolas), and ran back to school to return the van but cut half our last class to eat in the theater. Went back to class, but it turns out Velvet had tried to cover for us by lying about us going out to eat (so we wouldn't get in trouble with the strict teacher)...but I breezed into class wearing my Burger King crown. Ehe.

Also, Allyson's mother walked by and stared at me, and then started squeaking over how I was getting so PRETTY. I want some of whatever crack that woman's on; it must be awfully amazing stuff if it can make her say that to me. Seriously, what the hell is up with just randomly walking up to me and saying I'm getting pretty?! I'm not, and I don't like it when people talk to me like I am. Because it's not true. Annoying.

Thursday, January 17, 2002...

Kikyo-chan- thank you. It's always good to know that you'll be there to destroy me the moment I start being a teenybopper. (And that musical episode was SO amusing; though I'm not done watching it yet~ XD! I've watched the Xander/Anya song like ten times now, even though he can't sing, it's still SO funny!)

Alica lent me tapes for Buffy season...three? The boxed set thing with the season highlights/major plot episodes. I scowled, because Oz was only slightly in the first two episodes and not at all in the middle two, when Alica had assured me he made appearances in all six (when do they find out that he's a werewolf? o_O). Two more to go, but the middle ones were heavy on Buffy and Angel and not much else, and Spike is wheelchair-bound so all he does is sulk as Angel taunts him. Iyan- no Oz, no Spike? If I snag the tapes, perhaps I can stay up till two AM watching the rest or something...all that remains is the conclusion or whatever to the whole bit with Angel's soul, or lack thereof. I somehow am finding their love story really tedious. Nyo, Janaki, while I don't really see a connection much with Sailormoon...the romance is giving me flashbacks...he's good, he's evil for a season, he's good again, angst angst angst...but hey, that's just typical sap.

Drat. Alica certainly won't have season four set tomorrow, right? T_T I've become such an addict.

Also, squeaking over Oz/Willow cuteness BAD. It'll only end in shrieky fangirlish pain for me.

Moving on, today the Olympic torch passed through our city, so around noon they had this mini-festival kind of thing or it. My school's drama department was called upon to be part of the entertainment, doing parts of last fall's play. Huge honor, since they called us up specifically. It went wonderfully, but there were acually these people with signs, protesting in the crowds... Gabi somehow got the idea that it would be fun to torture the poor people, who I'm sure get that all the time.

Gabi: What are you protesting?
Guy: We're protesting having the rodeo as an Olympic event, since it's cruelty to animals.
All of us: *exchanging looks and whispers of, "There's rodeo in the Olympics?!"*
Gabi: *primly* Then, what's your position on abortion?
Guy: *gets all flustered* It's not for me to say what I think about it.
Us: ....
Guy: Are you pro-life?
Gabi: Yes, I am.
Guy: Do you eat meat?
Gabi: Yes...
Guy: Then..then you're not pro-life, you're just pro-human!
Gabi: *brightly* Oh, I don't think so, as I'm a firm believer in cannibalism.
Guy: ......you're a cruel, cruel person.
Gabi: *sweetly* Stace, am I cruel?
Staci: I don't think so; no.
Gabi: Well, as long as my friends love meee... *kira*
Meimi: *as we leave* What, until you eat us?
Gabi: *cackle*

It was evil, yet amusing for the idiocy of the guy who obviously just thought it was cool to be protesting something, and the cannibalism bit. The performance went really well, we all missed tests and quizzes as a result of being out of school...fun fun.

Oh, and Furuba tankoubon eight is apparently out, with Haru on the cover. It's so mine as soon as I see it, just for the opening 'bed' picture for him. The Hatori one is just...so...sparkly...

Ingrid-san- it's not so much giving into the actual masses themselves, it's rather the teenybopper masses. (Because, you know, Les likes HP, so.) Which I am beginning to worry about myself, because suddely Geri (who flaunts her tennybopperness), who I have never had much to talk about with...

Alica: XD I'll bring the beginning of the eighteen hours of Buffy tapes tomorrooooow~!!
Meimi: *glomp* Don't bother starting at the beginning; just give me from when Seth Green shows up, on.
Geri: *_* ...YOU....YOU...like him?
Meimi: o.O; ...yes...
Geri: *TACKLEGLOMP* I LOVE YOU NOOOOOW~~~~~!!!!

It seems the only one of us who's safe from the masses though, is Ali- she refuses to read HP. She claims it's because she wouldn't like it anyway, but she lies- she just doesn't read anymore. Note to self: Threaten her today to get her to finish my stack of Madeline L'Engle books I lent her months ago; the ones she swore she was interested in reading.

But you know, as long as other people join me on the road to Spike obsession... XD

Wednesday, January 16, 2002...

Told Les about my new guilty pleasure that is Buffy. She yelled at me for conforming to the masses and actually watching something for /3-D people/.

Meimi: Gasp, Les...you're right...I didn't realize the implications of this...
Les: Yes. You've done a terrible thing. I'm severely disappointed in you.
Meimi: *whimper* I feel like I've done a DIRTY, DIRTY THI- oh, here's my Pikachu pillow to molest. *tackles it* I feel better!
Les: .....you really feel guilty?
Meimi: *sniffle* Yes. I was all happy but now I'm upset that I disappointed you.
Les: ...but you still want to watch more, don't you?
Meimi: ............
Les: Don't you?
Meimi: *CACKLES MADLY* YES, YES, YEEES~!!!

She knows me too well. And she said she wouldn't be disappointed in me anymore as long as I molested my Pikachu pillow /while/ watching the show, so I could stay, I don't know, pure or something.

But somehow, Janaki, I feel better that there's someone else joining me. XD

Tuesday, January 15, 2002...

My head is throbbing. Ow. I assume it's from sleep deprivation, but you know, that's how life goes. I don't think I'll be losing sleep over stress anymore though- not till next week, where there will be a point where fairly literally my world will either come crashing down on me like it never has before in my life, or life will keep going on normally. *rubs head* But I'm still hyper from yesterday- honestly, school has just been a bad place since October, and suddenly all this great stuff is happening. What happened yesterday, plus I got a C on the math final (I was afraid of like, 30%), and an A on my English...

Oh, and I got an A on my English play. BUT...

Meimi: *leaps out of seat* NO NO NO NO. I did NOT get an A on this!
Teacher: Sure you did.
Meimi: *shrieks* It's possibly the worst thing I've ever written, and I was ASHAMED to turn it in.
Teacher: =_= Just let it rest, okay? I don't wanna hear it.
Somewhat later...
Teacher: Any more issues with grades?
Meimi: *jumps up and runs to his desk*
Teacher: Hahah...what, you want a lower grade?
Meimi: Yes.
Teacher: ... o_O; ...
Meimi: *shoves play in his face* You didn't really read this. Did you. I know you didn't.
Teacher: Uh...I read it at like 3 AM...so I don't remember what it's about...
(Translation: That means 'I didn't read it, so I gave you whatever your percentage in the class was'.)
Meimi: Well, other people did GREAT plays and I don't want the same grade as them. That's not fair.
Teacher: o_o What do you WANT?
Meimi: >_>; I don't care! I just don't want an A!
Teacher: Oookay...I'll reread this then...

I know people must think I'm crazy for doing it, but I'll be damned if I get an A on a play I wrote in roughly three hours under a severe case of writer's block. HAH.

But I've just been in a fabulous mood.

Oh, and my general circle of friends finally hooked me. On Buffy. It took roughly three days and I was gone.

I can't believe this.

I traded tapes with Geri this weekend, and now she gave me another one today with three more episodes. Alica, meanwhile, is frighteningly obsessive. And she, um, apparently has a scary amount of the show on tape. And she said she'd lend me the tapes, but she has 18 hours of it. @_@ Meanwhile I'm catching up with reruns and things...I usually have a good idea of what's going on in the show anyhow just by listening to conversations. ^^;;

Nyo, library closing so off I go~

*trots around*

LIFE. IS. BEAUTIFUL.

I have not had such a FABULOUS day since forever.

I would like to add, that while I was disappointed not getting into the spring musical, this year once again Mr. Y Talked to me. And I really respect and admire him so so so much, and today he pulled me aside and personally apologized for my not getting in because it hadn't been his call, and told me that he'd never seen such a talented actress as me in all his years of high school drama.

Like I said.

LIFE. IS. BEAUTIFUL.

You have no idea what that means to me. It was SO worth not getting into the musical to hear that. And I'm so happy happy happy happy happy HAPPY right now.

(And to my credit, I didn't cry like I did last year when he gave me a similar talk. I've never really forgiven myself for that, and when he called me over I started chewing my lip to make absolutely sure I wouldn't cry again.)

I swear I'm on top of the world right now. Life doesn't GET any better than this. So few compliments can be taken to heart like that, and I'm just bursting with joy right now.

Yay.

Spoilers for FB 26 (*bawls* file's! not! done! yet! and it's getting GOOD!)...

Firstly, Akito is PRETTY. And I must agree with the general response that he has nice legs.

Secondly, Yuki must be admired. Becuse he grabbed onto Akito and held him back from beating up Tooru.

Thirdly, I'm kind of miffed that they left out most of the final scene between Kazuma and Kyou. It seems quite random leaving out all the beginning where Kyou talks about how he's sorry for using the dojo as an escape and accusing Kazuma of running away as well. It was okay that they left out Tooru, because otherwise that would have made the whole thing be too KyouxTooru-ish as a whole.

And Akito is sexy sexy sexy. I don't think I've ever babbled that phrase over an anime character like I do for him, but...but....those LEGS...and the way he ADJUSTED his yukata...and...and how...

Um, and how he pulled Tooru's hair like a spoiled little girl just refused candy?

Okay, that was kind of not sexy, but going into that they had the whole leg thing and that whispery voice. "Nani shi ni kita no? Okoranai kara...."

Yeah. "Okoranai kara," and he yanks Tooru's hair and has to be restrained by Shigure and Yuki. Yuki may be a girl, but at least he's not a spoiled little girl...

Gasp. Did I just call Akito a spoiled little girl?

...but come on. He pulled her HAIR? Not even the girls in this cast would resort to hair-pulling.

Sunday, January 13, 2002...

Just finished watching episode 25 of Furuba. Out of the whole series, I think there are only two episodes that really stand out that you have to give serious credit to the director- the Hatori episode, and this one. Too many still shots though, I agree with Bell; the ones of Tooru's backside as she was collapsed beside that tree were a bit much. But a very quiet, painfully sad episode all in all- all the whispers and silence seem to build up to Hana-chan and her final outburst. And how I was complimenting seiyuu in episode 26 before? Add Hana-chan to the list; that was another amazing performance....she went from being, well, Hana-chan...to just having a performance full of just...raw emotion. It would have been amazing if it were a regular character, but being Hana-chan it had real impact. Mitsuishi Kotono was also lovely as usual; the way Kagura held everything in till that last line, "Kyou-kun no iro..." was beautiful.

And I'm sure that Akito is 100% aware that he's the most gorgeous thing ever. The way he was slinking (because Akito slinks when he's in that outfit) in that skintight black getup, and then flicked away the raindrops from his sleeve was all...uh, no, I don't think Akito is drop-dead sexy at all, why do you ask?

Bell, Aaya's drama seiyuu is most certainly Koyasu. And you're exactly right about anime Aaya...he has charm. He doesn't necessarily sound like Aaya should, but his charm manages to keep me from really complaining...but now that I think of it, I'm not entirely sure if it's the seiyuu's charm, or just Aaya's charm as a character...because really, no matter who voiced Aaya, as long as they were saying, "Yoru wa nagai...konya wa nemurasenai yo, Gure-san," I would still be cackling my head off.

On the subject of Furuba, Meia-san...the morning after fic... XD I am SO amused. That could not be more Shigure...

I wonder if he invited other people to watch.

"People" meaning...

"Ah, Gure-san. Just look at my little brother, all grown up."
"Quite, Aa-ya. Quite. Do you remember when we were their age?"
"Those were the days..*sparkle* Oh, Gure-san!"
"*rose petals* Oh, Aa-ya!"
"...........Shigure, I swear I'm going to kill you for dragging me down here and saying it was an emergency."
"But Ha-san! With all that rolling around someone's bound to slam into the wall and get hurt-"
"Gure-san, I've been thinking about Christmas presents for this year...Mine and I were already planning on making a dress for Tooru-kun, but now do you think it would be fitting if we gave Yuki a maid outfit that matches Mine's, and Kyon a wedding dress?"
"You're so clever, Aa-ya! But hush now; I'm taking notes."
