Sun 10/8 - AM 5k cross country in Wayland, 17:15. Signing up for this seemed like a good idea at the time, but that was before the lead weight got plopped on my shoulders recently. Unable to keep up with a couple of old farts so I didn't even bother trying. Nevertheless, nostalgic fun to run the course and a nice day. Warmup was too short, not really awake yet, cooldown was around 40 minutes on Greenways trails. Second day in a row, skipped the afternoon run for feeling flat and tired.

Sat 10/7 - AM Abbreviated workout at Weston, 2x6 minutes and 3 minutes of the third rep before stopping. Unlike the last timed repeat session, the first one was under control and felt fine. After that I was done as things quickly went downhill. Still not able to dig deep at all, stuck in that tired rut. Most of the day's running was on the warmup and cooldown. Planned on a PM run but hit by exhaustion in the late afternoon.

Fri 10/6 - PM 70 minutes in Area 51. Spent most of the day traveling to VT for clothes shopping, of all things, well worth the trip despite the obscenely early wake-up call and stiffness in right hip and lower back from all the sitting in a car. Felt better than expected, held back a bit to save some effort for the weekend. Cool evening, somewhat humid.

Thu 10/5 - AM 40 minutes easy in Area 51. Much cooler this morning, gusty winds clearing out the moist air. Bouncing back slowly from Tuesday. PM 55 minutes much of it on Longfellow loop. Did a bunch of pickups in the last 25 minutes, felt good to run a little quicker but some kinks in the right side. Continued cool, ended up overdressing.

Wed 10/4 - AM 30 minutes easy, legs not as stiff as I would have thought. PM 60+ minutes in Area 51. Feeling the stiffness and soreness in the legs now for sure. Took it easy of course. Right hip and esp. TFL dinged up from the stumbling around in the dark last night. Unseasonably warm and humid again.

Tue 10/3 - AM 25 minutes easy. New work schedule makes the morning runs possible w/o getting up at the crack of dawn, and I'm loving it. At least until the kiddies' season starts. PM 30 mimute warmup on Beacon St followed by 6x full hills on Comm. Ave. First two around 1:57, then 1:56, 1:58, 1:59, and 1:58. Shooting for 8, but started to fade after the third one. Started off feeling surprisingly good, hip feeling as spry as it's been recently esp. during warmup. Feeling ambitious, sped up the recoveries to around 2:20 instead of the 2:35 or so they were the last time. Bit off a bit more than I could chew as this caught up to me. Stumbling in the dark wore out my legs and hip started tightening up. Disgusting humidity level didn't help any. Hip flexors stiff and sore on both sides during cooldown, which went very slow.

Mon 10/2 - PM 65 minutes laundry run. After yesterday's run, leg actually started to feel better as the day wore on, surprisingly enough. Not nearly as stiff today as it was the same time yesterday, some range of motion returning sooner than expected. I figured the lockdown would linger for days. Felt quite tired during the day, some things never change.
