Sun 10/30 - AM 85 minutes in the Lincoln woods. After clearing away the early cobwebs, got rolling along, probably a bit too fast for the purpose of the run. Some slipping and sliding on wet leaves, right achilles area felt strained at one point. Much warmer today than it has been the past week, including yesterday's snow showers. PM 30 minutes on the treadmill, 4.25 miles. Cycling the speed from 7.6 to 9.5 mph. Felt as good as treadmill runs ever feel.

Sat 10/29 - AM 3x8 minutes with 4R on the fields at Weston HS. A solid workout, tried to build the effort within each rep and finish off the last two minutes especially hard. The second and third reps were the best ones in this regard. Took a while to wake up fully on the longish warmup, particularly with continued chilly conditions. Left knee feeling better. Long cooldown to go with the longer warmup.

Fri 10/28 - AM 19 minutes on the treadmill, 2.5 miles. This particular run is starting to grow on me. PM 60 minutes, Area 51. Six pickups on the way home. Stepped out the door hoping to be able to do strides, so it was a success in that sense. Other than some lingering soreness in left quad tendon, moving well and feeling better than yesterday. Cold dankness continues, more like late November than late October.

Thu 10/27 - PM 90 minutes, rail bed to Great Hill, Mt. Hope then back via White Pond. As expected, bubble burst on the feeling spry after last night's workout. As such, took it easy the whole way and skipped on the strides at the end. Moderately sore in hammies and hip flexors. Cool weather continues.

Wed 10/26 - AM 19 minutes, 2.5 miles on the treadmill. Same run as yesterday morning. PM 10x Comm Ave Hill, same set-up as the last time, up on the road, down on the grass median. No downpour like last time, also a sustained tailwind, so times were on the quick side. Mostly around 1:53, ninth went in 1:50 and the last one in 1:48. Saved the best for last, every rep was under control, able to kick it up a notch at th end w/o problem. Really rolling on the recoveries, consistently under 2:20 on nearly all the return trips. A totally different, and much more enjoyable, workout when using the road to climb. No slipping, sliding, stumbling. bumbling. Feeling much better in training the past three days than I felt during Sunday's race.

Tue 10/25 - AM 19 minutes on the treadmill, 2.5 miles. Ticked up the speed every 30 seconds until going 9.2, much faster than recent treadmill runs, then backed the speed off for the last few minutes. Difficulty sleeping last night with the unwelcome return of the teflon consciousness. PM 60 minutes, Area 51. The worst of the rain having passed by, I was able to get outside when the plan originally was another treadmill run, that I wasn't especially looking forward to. Like yesterday, feeling better than expected, moving a lot quicker than I've become accustomed to on daily runs of late. Six pickups on the way home.

Mon 10/24 - PM 75 minutes, Track road to Sudbury Road, back through Area 51. While yesterday's race took a toll on the legs, soreness esp. in adductors and lower abs, overall not hurting near as bad as I would have expected. Even able to do five pickups on the way home. Stiffened up some afterwards, delay in getting to stretching. Dank chill persists, tomorrow we get hammered again with more downpours.
