Sun 1/28 - AM 55 minutes, Muddy River to Perkins St. and back via Columbus Ave. Feeling predictably flat and tired. This morning's wakeup was 4:30 which didn't help matters. A slow slog, wanted to go further but decided it wouldn't be worthwhile.

Sat 1/27 - AM Terrier Classic DNF, lasted 2k of the 5k before calling it a day. First mile went by in 4:50 but it felt like 4:35, and the pace was already heading towards an inevitable 5:20 last mile. I wanted no part of that. Disappointing but not really surprising, as this stinkbomb has been weeks in the making. Lack of rest did me in, this past week being the final nail in the coffin as my efforts to try and get to bed earlier didn't result in more and better sleep. Woke up with pulse elevated, the norm for a while now. It's a problem when you're yawning on the drive in to the meet at 10 AM, and taking a car nap after parking. Right leg feeling like crap didn't help either. While not in lifetime PR shape, I know there's some base of fitness there and it's just being submerged under all the exhaustion. As such, lifestyle changes are in order, some discipline needs to be imposed. The 10 pm rule is in effect regarding all AV equipment around the home.

Fri 1/26 - PM 25 minutes on the treadmill, 3.5m. Speed ranged from 7.5 to 9 mph. Obnoxious cold and wind chill drove me inside. Overall not feeling especially crisp. Right TFL twinging much more than I would like. Got home from work dead to the wide, thanks to waking up at 3 AM this morning and being unable to get back to sleep. This was my reward for getting bed earlier last night.

Thu 1/25 - PM 30 minutes easy in the Fens. Legs feel okay after last night's workout. Wind rising and sure to be worse tomorrow. later PM 35 minutes, same loop as previous Thursdays but without the lap around Jamaica Pond. Looking to get home a little earlier so I can get to bed a little earlier. Took it easy, but moving better than the earlier run.

Wed 1/24 - PM RLTAC 8x400 71.2, 74.6, 69.2, 69.2, 67.6, 68.2, 66.9, 66.8 with 1.5R. Other than the hiccup on the second one, followed an orderly progression. This was something of a surprise given how atrocious I felt warming up. My reward for going to bed earlier the past few nights has been waking up an hour before I need to in the morning. Also right TFL has been twinging since Sunday and didn't feel good at all in warmups. Wearing spikes helped some with doing the workout. A longer workout requiring more focus would have been a problem tonight.

Tue 1/23 - PM 55 minutes, Longfellow loop incl. the far side of Willis. Feeling better than yesterday, had to ease back on the throttle a couple of times. Getting ahead of myself since I'm still quite tired underneath it all. Four short strides near the end, meant to do more but stomach issues put paid to that. Making some progress on the bedtime but still plenty more to go.

Mon 1/22 - PM 40 minutes, Levittown cutoff to Summerhill. Got a late start which cut down on the length of the run. After becoming sore post-race yesterday, right hip felt like garbage for much of the run today. The falling snow didn't help matters, just enough accumulated to make footing somewhat tricky.
