Sun 9/25 - AM 60+ minutes, Area 51. Feeling sluggish and sore, took a while to get going this morning after sleeping a solid 9 hours. Right TFL tightened up towards the end, just as assorted other sore spots were becoming unstuck. PM 65+ minutes, Walden woods. Had ambitious plans to hammer it home, didn't really happen. Legs feeling much better than in the morning as is usually the case, moving along at a decent clip. The last 15 minutes didn't bring any extra speed, and the last five a profound weariness washed over me and it was a jog in from there. Overcast, cool, and breezy this afternoon.

Sat 9/24 - AM 20 minute warmup to the hill, 9x 60 second repeats in three sets of alternating effort, longer cooldown of about 40 minutes or so. The difference between effort levels greatly exaggerated, going 30-60m farther on the "faster" and "fastest" efforts as opposed to the "fast" level. The sixth one nearly did me in, barely under control, able to get it back together for the last set of three. Not feeling especially spry, nor was I expecting to quite frankly, tired from the week of doubling. Fantastic clear, crisp day, with a breeze.

Fri 9/23 - AM 22 minutes very easy. Some soreness in left foot from yesteday's longer run. Noticeably more humid this morning compared to the past few days. PM 45 minutes easy in Area 51. Canned the second half of a potential laundry run when I decided a shorter length of time was sufficient for today. Started the run in a fog, hit the "Friday tired" wall on the way home from work. Doubling requires a bit more sleep than I've been getting lately. The last 10 minutes of the run things cleared up and I was moving pretty well.

Thu 9/22 - AM 20 minute shuffle, very relaxed. This is a great time of year to be outside for a glorified stroll at dawn. PM 95+ minutes in Walden woods. Got going pretty good the last half hour. Excellent conditions for running, warm but dry. Right leg twinging during the day so I was concerned it would be sticking during the run but it wasn't really much of a problem.

Wed 9/21 - AM 20 minute easy jog in the gloaming. Pleasantly cool, but it's going to be a warm day. Left ankle creaky, rolled it on yesterday's run along the river I'm remembering now. PM Longfellow loop, 5x 4 minutes with 2R. Warmup and cooldown totaled just under 30 minutes, as I crammed the whole session in under an hour to get on with errands later. Warm day but dry. Trying to build up to a faster pace within each rep, changing gears twice after 1:20 and 2:40. Without the beeping watch it was hard to judge when to move, but able to achieve some sort of negative split effort if not actual negative split pace. Didn't feel especially great or smooth, but able to finish it off nonetheless. Right adductor gummed up at the start, over the course of the workout the tightness migrated over to TFL area. This ongoing garbage with the right hip made it harder to move well.

Tue 9/20 - AM 20 minutes very easy. Back to the morning runs, in relaxed fashion. At this pace, legs feel fine. PM 60 minutes or so, mainly along the Charles. Obnoxiously muggy. Spent much of the run looking for a bathroom, despite this moving well at times. Right thigh somewhat tight, hamstring coming around from Sunday's effort which messed it up.

Mon 9/19 - AM 75 minutes in Area 51, mostly slow. Thanks to a flex day at work, able to get up later than normal and still get in the run. Nice day, last week's muggies in the rear-view mirror, great time of the morning to be outside. A nice run all around, only minor bummer was stiffness in left quad tendon and, of course, right hip which continues to be locked up.
