Sun 12/24 - AM 80 minutes, Area 51. Similar to last Sunday, started a bit too quickly and spent much of the run unnecessarily rushing things. Right thigh tight and sore from neglect, felt much better after post-run stretch and some comressions. Mild and breezy. Planned evening run went by the boards again, this time due to having too many other things on my plate. The pursuit of added volume remains elusive.

Sat 12/23 - AM 40 minutes easy. Something of a trudge. Right TFL tightened up after the workout last night. Planned evening run went by the boards as I was too tired for anything after the afternoon.

Fri 12/22 - PM RLTAC 6x800 2.5R. First two 2:25.5, next two 2:24.5, then 2:24 and 2:21.5 to close. The mania returned, got through the day feeling like a million bucks and tailed off badly by late afternoon. Desperately need of a nap that didn't happen. Under control but legs a bit rubbery at times. A solid effort given how tired I felt.

Thu 12/21 - PM 30 minutes easy, Longwood. Legs more stiff than sore. Warmer temps back. later PM 45 minutes incl. Jamaica Pond. Started slowly, legs stiff again after standing around at the kiddie meet. Got going a little bit near the end but not interested in pushing the pace.

Wed 12/20 - off. Dead tired by late afternoon. Feeling typically wired after the workout last night and as a result another night of short rest and it caught up to me. One way to break the mania.

Tue 12/19 - PM RLTAC 1600 5:02 4.5R 3(3x400) 1.5R between reps, 4R between sets. First set 71, second set 75, last set 69, 68, 67. After a somewhat clunky-feeling warmup, legs came around well and felt fine. Effort was under control at all times and if anything there was more left in the tank at the end. All this despite spending a second night struggling to fall asleep with the scratchy throat. Getting the wintertime manic feeling, hopefully not to the point where I end up toasted in March.

Mon 12/18 - PM 60 minutes incl. 4 trips springing up the Thompson road hill with three strides at the top each time. Right leg feeling better than yesterday due in large part to the fact that I actually got to stretch after running last night. Dry scratchy throat made falling asleep last night a chore, despite the fact I was bone-tired. Still dragging some on the run as a result. Looking to break the pernicious little cycle tonight.
