Sun 4/22 - AM 95 minutes, Walden woods. Yo-yo continues with the left hammie, felt pinched and sore right from the get-go and the uneven terrain of the trails didn't treat it well at all. Stopped halfway through for a massage break and after this moving much better although the soreness eventually returned. Pace also worked its way down the last third of the run, although unable to really move due to the legs. Got in a good stretch again afterwards like yesterday, in the long term this will hopefully be my way out of all this leg crap. Very warm day, and with it a decrease in air quality. Noticed the sore feeling in the lungs after the run.
Sat 4/21 - AM 60 minutes very easy to easy, Track Road to Area 51. Woke up with sorenesses both expected and unexpected, right TFL unbelievably tight and sore, hurt just getting out of bed. This pain disappeared 20 seconds after starting to run and never came back. Left hammie tight and sore, but loosened up some over the course of the run. Overall, felt better than expected after how last night went. PM 45 minutes easy to medium, Area 51. Legs feeling better after some stiffness the first few minutes.
Fri 4/20 - AM 35 minutes easy. Somewhat stiff, not a real surprise. Nice morning, shorts weather after so many dreary days. PM Bentley 3x800 2.5R. 2:30, 2:32, 2:35. Cut short from the usual 6x800, second turd in a row. Not able to give any kind of effort, the same tired feeling of not breathing hard yet not able to push myself at all. A noticeable and acute downturn even from the way things had been going for the previous two weeks. Feeling very tired, oversleeping after not sleeping well for a while. Legs have the occluded feel to them, no range of motion. Whatever the relative balance, these two factors are the problem right now. This workout shouldn't be a problem right now at mid 2:20s, much less 2:30. Short cooldown again. Good conditions to run in.

Thu 4/19 - AM 45 minutes easy, Area 51. Leg feeling just a bit better, the stretching after runs is finally having some effect. Still tender, but loosened up some. Impenetrable cloud cover starting to break up. PM 60+ minutes easy, Walden woods. A bit less stiff than the morning, still not where I'd like to be with the hammie but getting better.
Wed 4/18 - PM 80 minutes very easy, Area 51. Left hammie still sore, range of motion limited. Unable to move any faster than a putter. Skipped anything in the morning so as to sleep in, a no-brainer. Dismal weather continues, but the end is in sight. Not a moment too soon.
Tue 4/17 - AM 31 minutes, 4 miles on the treadmill. Forced to stay inside by the hideous weather, continued wind-driven rain, temps in the high 30s. Left hammie/hip feels like garbage. Overall not a comfortable relaxed effort at all. PM Bentley 1600 5:20, 4.5R, 4x400 75-6 w/equal rest (200 jog). Felt tired and flat throughout, cut the workout short. Hamstring not as problematic as expected, only bright spot. Weather continues to be abysmal, buffeted by the usual breeze but with rain ond cold temps it was absolutely awful. This accounts for the dawdling times but even so, very frustrating to be running so slow right now. Fitness that evaporated between mid-Feb and mid-March not showing any consistent sign of returning.

Mon 4/16 - PM 55 minutes easy, Area 51. Left hammie soreness has migrated downward more into the belly of the muscle. Twinges from ilium to anterior tib, from favoring the original strain. The whole thing is a mess at the moment. Spending quality time with the lacrosse ball which is a bummer. Storm finally gave out, left behind flooded trails, with more rain in the forecast. Continued colder than normal temps.
