Sun 1/21 - AM 3k in 8:53. Didn't get all the splits, not especially interested, but I'd guess that the two halves of the race were about equal with a notable sag in the third 800 followed up with a bit of a rally to finish things off. Closed in 33 and probably around 68 for the last 400. Despite recent signals of exhaustion, thought I could get through it well today until I did a pair of strides just before the race and it was apparent that the mojo just wasn't quite there. As a result, kept it conservative at the outset and at one point early on I think I was DFL. Still able to pass some people the last kilo, but I need more rest badly. Right leg not an issue today, although it tightened up later on in the day. Longer warmup and cooldown in bitter wind chill conditions.

Sat 1/20 - PM 40 minutes Levittown to Summerhill, same loop as earlier in the week but a bit faster paced thsi time. Legs and stride feeling as good as they have recently. Alas, AM pulse was elevated yet again, which put paid to any idea of doing a short run before breakfast. Stayed elevated throughout the day. My goal is to get it down by next Saturday.

Fri 1/19 - PM 50+ minutes, Longfellow loop. Feeling better than expected after yesterday, other than tightness and twinging in right TFL. 7 pickups on the way in, moving reasonably well. Marginally less tired than the past few days but still feeling something akin to exhaustion. Winds picking up and not at all pleasant.

Thu 1/18 - 20 minute warmup, followed by an abbreviated Deek, 6x400 around 74 (last one 77) capped off with a 34 second 200. Floats started at 47 and found their way up to 50 after the third one. Thankfully, the youngster I was escorting blew up and I didn't have to finish the whole thing, as it was becoming a chore even at that pace. Far too tired for this kind of thing today. Pulse elevated all day at work, the same strung-out fried feeling that's become depressingly familiar. Stuck in a bad bedtime rut and not sleeping well either. It was still worth it in that sense because I got the run out of the way quite early in the afternoon and I can get to bed earlier tonight as a result. 30 minute cooldown.

Wed 1/17 - PM 45 minutes easy, Levittown to Summerhill. Predictably exhausted today after last night's effort. Right hammie locked up worse than I had realized, took a while to loosen up at all. Limping along for the first 15 minutes or so. Coldest day of the season, dressed for it but not liking it. Overall feeling very tired, looking forward to getting more rest between now and Sunday.

Tue 1/16 - PM RLTAC 4x1200 3.5R, 5R 4x300 1.5R. 1200s avg. 3:36, run even-paced more or less. 300s all around 49.5. Relaxed, but tired. A recurring theme of late. 72 pace felt like more of an effort than it really should at this point. 300s all under control, picked it up the last 100. No rubber legs, but completely frazzled after it was all done. Didn't quite make 10 minutes on the cooldown crawl.

Mon 1/15 - PM 70 minute laundry run. Feeling flat and tired at the outset, gradually felt better, eventually moving well and able to do five strides at the end. Overall still strung out, this hasn't been as restful a long weekend as I would have hoped.
