Sun 10/15 - off. While my pulse isn't quite as elevated as yesterday, it seemed most prudent to take the day off. This coming week I'll be looking to break out of the recent pattern of getting progressively more tired as the work week progresses and then crashing on the weekend.

Sat 10/14 - AM 40 minutes easy in Newton. Warmed up, watched people run up the hill and then ran back. Utterly flat, went to bed last night exhausted and woke up this morning slightly less so. Pulse elevated all afternoon despite the lack of any intense effort. Continuing the pattern of late where I'm completely fried by the time the weekend rolls around. Not sleeping enough for the amount of running I'm trying to do. Right hammie still pinched, making for an all-around great day.

Fri 10/13 - AM 45 minutes in Area 51. PM 85 minutes in Wellesley incl. a loop in Elm Bank. Ran very slowly most of the way, feeling very tired at the start and only planning to go an hour tops. Insisting on going to Elm Bank ruined that. The slow pace was the only thing that kept me from becoming totally exhausted. Right hammie not feeling 100%, back to sitting on a lax ball.

Thu 10/12 - AM 40 minutes easy, just made it into Area 51 and had to pick it up on the way home to make it back in time PM just under 60 minutes, incl. 8x200 and 5x100 untimed glorified strides. Apart from right hammie being a bit off I felt all right. Obnoxiously humid for this time of year.

Wed 10/11 - AM 30 minutes easy. Plenty of sore spots after last night. Left psoas has been tight the last few days and I really felt it lying in bed. PM 70 minutes, Area 51. If anything, more sore than the morning, and went slower as a result. Very little knee lift going on. Loosened up somewhat the last 30 minutes which was reassuring. Rain started picking up in intensity soon after I started. Neither warm nor cold.

Tue 10/10 - AM 30 minutes easy, feeling a bit better than I have been lately. PM Tempo run, 4 laps of the Chestnut Hill-BC res paved loop in 40:55. Each lap was faster than the last, 10:23, 10:15, 10:13, 10:04 and the effort was under control. A good sign given recent travails. Alas, when I did this exact same workout a year ago in more adverse conditions I ran over a minute faster. Hopefully the upward trajectory will continue. With warmup and cooldown close to 50 minutes, a long night.

Mon 10/9 - AM 60+ minutes very slow in Area 51. Took forever to get going this morning, still feeling tired. Puttering along with various stops in the last 20 minutes or so. Warm morning. PM 45 minute laundry run, feeling marginally better than in the morning after laying low all day. Hopefully the worst of the lethargy is now in the past.
