Sun 11/13 - AM 30+ minute warmup in Walden woods, 6400m cut-down on the track in 22:08 (5:46, 5:39, 5:27, 5:16). Shooting for 8k but it was over well before that. Not feeling so hot, lingering tiredness from late bedtimes, right leg gummed up. Topping it off was the obnoxious, persistent wind that just wouldn't quit. Great for flying kites, terrible for this workout. Ruined all rhythm, as I got smacked in the face every single GD backstretch. Cost at least 5 sec/mile. Cooldown was a 35+ minute crawl in GMNWR.
Sat 11/12 - AM 50 minutes very easy, rail bed to Liberty Road, back via Levittown. Legs still stiff, not quite as bad as yesterday, but strained right heel slipping on leaves in the woods. Left with a sore ankle afterwards. Hard freeze last night, coldest night of the season so far with frost all over the place. PM Just under 50 minutes, Longfellow loop. Finished with 6 pickups on the way home that felt pretty good. The whole point of the run was to get to those strides at the end, feeling much better and looser in the evening as compared to the morning, not any surprise. Stayed out of Area 51 so as not to slip on poor footing in the dark with sore ankle. Another chilly evening.
Fri 11/11 - AM just under 90 minutes in Area 51. Did a serpentine loop that covered most of the main paths/roads back there and some of the minor ones as well. Honey Brook remains flooded. Moving slowly at first, a little better in the middle of the run, then wilted the last 20 minutes or so. Right hammie stuck and range of motion compromised after not stretching yesterday. No pickups near the end as a result. Cold, clear windy day, more of same likely for the rest of the weekend.
Thu 11/10 - AM 19 more minutes on the treadmill. Feeling better after sleeping a bit more last night. PM 60+ minutes on Fresh Pond, incl. 10x2 minute pickups with 2R. Not the greatest workout ever, but a solid effort anyway. Felt better as things went along, never exactly flying along. Very windy along one side of the pond. Lost track of how many laps I had covered, focus was on each rep. Cooldown was on the very short side, not that I cared one bit.
Wed 11/9 - AM 19 minutes on the treadmill, 2.5 miles. Didn't sleep particularly well last night, for the third night in a row. As a result, pulse elevated all day, dragging big-time after work, bagged the PM run. Stayed awake through the doldrums, but barely. Scheduled workout gets put off until tomorrow.
Tue 11/8 - AM 19 minutes, 2.5m on the treadmill. PM 65 minutes, Area 51. DOMS has arrived in earnest, took half the run for legs to loosen up and feel at all decent. After a brief pit stop, moving much better the last 20 minutes, able to do 6 pickups on the way home. Got in a good stretch afterwards.

Mon 11/7 - AM 19 minutes, 2.5 miles on the treadmill, becoming the standard AM workout. Legs not nearly as sore as I was expecting. Had some difficulty falling asleep last night, no real surprise after the weekend. PM 60 minutes, Area 51. No problem taking it easy today. More soreness in the legs, both quad tendons took turns feeling creaky. Some stiffness in right hip as well. Still, able to do six pickups on the way in without too much trouble.
