Sun 2/12 - AM 75 minutes tromping through the snow, track road to Area 51. Light fluffy windblown stuff, not yet too deep so it was fairly easy going, escept for one hard spill on a patch of ice hidden underneath the fresh stuff. Overall felt better than expected.

Sat 2/11 - AM 3k @ BU, 8:38.7. Kilometers of 2:53, 2:54, and 2:51. The two halves of the race were just about the same. Last 400 was I think 67, last lap 33 or so. Overall an honest effort for not quite feeling 100%. Various reasons for this, tired overall from the meatgrinder schedule of the past two weeks, health meter not fully back to normal after near brush with illness. To top it off, my legs didn't feel as spry as they should have which was no doubt due to going too fast on the treadmill yesterday. the treadmill giveth and it taketh away. Short warmup and cooldown, spent the rest of the day in the city and did some walking in the afternoon. Got home feeling thoroughly exhausted.

Fri 2/10 - PM 30 minutes, 4.5m on the treadmill. Started at 7.5 and worked all the way up to 10 mph before bringing it back. Did four pickups at 12 mph near the end. Like yesterday, my consciousness crashed on the ride home. Didn't feel like running outside, still spoiled by the now-departed warm conditions.

Thu 2/9 - PM 45+ minutes on the Longfellow loop, 8 pickups on the way home. Felt better than expected at first, then a bit flat, so the strides at the end were of a lower intensity and more stretched out. Feeling chipper at work today, but at the tail end of the drive home I suddenly felt quite tired. Mostly over the mild cold/sore throat symptoms. The return of more seasonable weather conditions is a reminder of how mild January was.

Wed 2/8 - 30 minutes easy jog in the Fens. The final weekday kiddies' meet, hallelujah. Feeling predictably sore from last night's workout in spikes. Took it easy and otherwise felt fine. Return to more seasonable conditions continues.

Tue 2/7 - PM RLTAC 5x600 2R began at 1:44, ended at 1:40. The day off yesterday served me well, feeling much better with the worst of the cold symptoms in the rearview mirror. Felt somewhat flat on the warmup but after the first rep it was much more fluid. Relatively fast pace was manageable.

Mon 2/6 - off. After the long day this weekend and spending another night drowning in my own mucus, I was in no state to do anything today. To top it off, I got to stand around in a bitter wind for a chunk of the afternoon at kiddies' practice. After that I just wanted to crawl into bed. The worst of it should be behind me after today, looking forward to being able to sleep again.
