Sun 10/9 - AM 65 minutes easy, area 51. Stiff, but not as bad as I expected to be. Loosened up the last 20 minutes. Another Sunday of "cheating" to get the volume in, toyed with the thought of making the morning run longer but decided to leave something for later in the day instead. PM 60+ minutes, rail bed to Mt. Hope, back via railbed. Given how crappy I felt yesterday, surprising how well I was moving the last 20 minutes of this run. Taking out my frustrations I suppose. Grey gloom in the sky continues, with no end in sight.

Sat 10/8 - AM 3x10 minutes at Franklin Park with 5R. Ran the first one too hard, paid dearly for it the second one, readjusted (i.e. slowed it down) to start out the final one and made it through. Not a fun workout, lately the long, hard efforts seem to have exposed every chink in the armor, while emphasizing the difference between how fit I think I am and how fit I actually am. Persistent tiredness underlying everything, hopefully cutting way back on volume when races come around will do the trick. Warmup and cooldown about 40 minutes, once again not really finishing off the warmup thoroughly which has become an issue lately. Odd weather today, humidity gave way to rain and lots of it, but warm temps with a strong S wind.

Fri 10/7 - AM 20 minutes, again with the obnoxious humidity. As alert as I've ever been at this early hour. No PM run today, as my plans to head out for a jog evaporated along with the local nine's season. Somewhat tired as well, tried to keep the volume up this week.

Thu 10/6 - AM 20 minutes easy. Obnoxiously humid. Slept relatively well last night. PM 80+ minutes in Lincoln woods. Obnoxious humidity continues, high time this BS goes away. Moving slowly at first, better after 20 minutes or so, and rolling right along near the end. However, right leg continues to twinge away, gets tighter as the run goes along and becomes noticeable in the TFL area after 45 minutes or so.

Wed 10/5 - PM 85+ minutes, including 8x1 min hills on White Pond road. Not the greatest choice of venue for the reps, as the hill wasn't long enough and I ended up going past the crest on most of them. Warmed up for 30 minutes plus in Area 51 and dove right in, looking to do 2 sets of 4 going progressively faster with each one. 90 seconds to get back to the bottom regardless of how far I had gone on the way up, this part worked out well. Able to run progressively faster for each set with the possible exception of the last rep. Right leg not feeling so hot, gummed up in the hip leading to twinges down the outside of my shin. Left hammie also started to act up on the cooldown and after finishing up. Need to stretch more. Overall, feeling a bit tired from all the running lately, plus slept fiftully last night which was disappointing. Canned the AM run as a result.

Tue 10/4 - AM 20 minutes, obnoxiously humid. Feeling a bit tired PM 70+ minutes, rail bed to Mt. Hope back via White Pond Rd. Feeling foggy at the start, lifted soon enough and moving well after 30 minutes or so. Right hip better than it has been lately. Did 4 pickups on the way in. Left lowermost abdominal feeling sore after the run, related to the tight sore left PA. It's all related.

Mon 10/3 - AM 20 minutes easy jog. Cool but not cold PM 65 minutes, Area 51. Left PA was tight and a bit sore to start, but it loosened up soon enough, another crisis averted from the looks of things. Quads still sore from Saturday, took it easy most of the way but felt good enough for 5 pickups on the way in. Warm day, cooling rapidly with the sun setting.
