Sun 4/9 - AM 90 minutes very easy, rail bed to Mt. Hope, back via White Pond and Area 51. Took about two hours to complete the run with various breaks including a really long one near the end to check out a 60 year-old trash midden in Area 51. Shows where I was at mentally, more of a glorified hike. Pleasant enough morning to be outside, chill faded as the sun got higher. Still dragging a bit.

Sat 4/8 - AM Lincoln Tempo, 24:40. Splits of 5:28, 5:34, 5:20, 3:10, and 5:08. About 10 seconds a mile slower than what I should have been able to run for this level of effort, but not a suprise given that the effort was permeated by a tired feeling left over from far too little rest during the week. The persistent breeze for the first two miles didn't help either. Wilted on the cooldown, all around shitter of a day.

Fri 4/7 - off, again. After yesterday afternoon's way too long nap, which of course only happened because I was too tired to begin with, another insomniac episode. Able to get through the work day in one piece, feeling better than Monday, but the inevitable crash in consciousness occurred on the drive home from work. Slept as much in the afternoon/early evening as I had earlier that day in the wee hours. Two of these in a week is discouraging, esp. after I seemed to have a better routine established last week.

Thu 4/6 - AM 40 minutes, Area 51. Still going very easy, unexpected change in work schedule allowed for the chance to "sleep in" and still do a run before breakfast. Legs somewhat stiff. PM 70 minutes, Pratt's Brook to Mt. Hope via Great hill, back on the rail bed. Despite some lingering tightness in right adductor, moving much better today than yesterday. Picked up the pace a few times the last 39 minutes although still too tired to really push the pace. Came home form work and crashed, out for an unexpectedly long time.

Wed 4/5 - AM 30 minutes, brook path to Washington St. Right leg still clamped up, but other than that not feeling too bad. Brisk morning. PM 65 minutes very very slow, Area 51. Tired, sore, kept it very low-key as a result. Certainly very relaxed. Weather turned to shit soon after the morning run, snow showers all day, but it had ended by the time the PM run rolled around.

Tue 4/4 - PM 8x400, 200 with 200m float recoveries. Total of 5k, with the 200 tacked on the end being an added wrinkle. Total time was 16:14, 400s started out north of 74 and ended up between 72 and 73, last 200 went in 32. Floats went between 44 and 45. As ever, this workout gives an honest accounting of my fitness which is not where I'd like it to be. Sunday's insomniac episode didn't help any to be sure. Legs felt terrible during the warmup, right adductor continued to be tight and stuck during the first mile or so of the workout itself. Due to arriving late, I did very little in the way of drills so that played a role. 30 minute cooldown around the ballyard. I'm looking forward to doing this same workout later on in the season when I'm feeling better overall.

Mon 4/3 - off. Had an absolutely horrendous night trying to get some rest, went to bed at the usual time but with stupid-ass DST my body thought it was an hour earlier than that, and the predictable inability to nod off was the result. From there the teflon consciousness took over, sometime around 3 am exhaustion finally took over. Went through the work day in full zombie mode, feeling awful the entire time. Got home and collapsed in bed. Hopefully this won't set me back too far in climbing out of the hole I was in last month, esp. as things had been going well recently.
