Sun 11/5 - AM New Englands, DNF after 3k. Same going backwards crap as two weeks ago, only with 2k more added to the race, it added up to a pointless exercise. After waking up feeling tired and with TFL twinging like crazy I shouldn't even have bothered. A shame because it was a good day to race. The late bedtimes over the past few days have killed me given that I wake up at about the same time each morning. Same old story. Condition of right hip continues to be worrisome, missed stretching for three days this week and it feels like it's blowing up again. Very stiff on the cooldown. The knots in lower back/high hip just aren't going away. Combination of continued sleep and hip problems have steadily chipped away at my overall fitness and even well-being, it's getting to the point where I couldn't wrap my brain around doing a run longer than 90 minutes or a hard effort longer than 5k.
Saturday 11/4 - PM 45 minutes, Longfellow loop with 8 pickups on the way in. Spent most of the day in bed after staying up way too late last night. Right TFL twinging more than I would like, but feeling better overall than two weeks ago before Mayor's Cup. Tomorrow won't be a thing of beauty but I should be able to get through it.
Fri 11/3 - off. As it turns out, the only time I would have had to run was either in the morning before breakfast or extremely late. Chose neither.
Thu 11/2 - PM 50 minute laundry run. I had planned to go half again as long but feeling very flat after yesterday's long day. Not a whole lot of energy today. More seasonable conditions, chilly but not too windy.
Wed 11/1 - PM 25 minutes very easy in the Fens. Right leg quite stiff and sore. Muggy again.
Tue 10/31 - PM 20 minute tempo at Chestnut Hill Reservoir, two laps of the outer road loop plus a little bit. First lap in 9:21, second in 9:29. Hoping to run negative but got a bit ahead of myself in the middle of the first lap and spent the rest of the way trying to pull it back in and stay under control. Still a solid effort, esp. in light of the recent weekend double. Warmup and cooldown were both on the quick side. Unseasonably warm and muggy.

Mon 10/30 - PM 40+ minutes, SIverhill to Summerhill. Legs predictably stiff, but loosened up better than expected. Started quite slowly, gradually got a bit quicker but nothing fantastic. Lower back tight again, stretching helps some but the lacrosse ball was necessary as well.
