Sun 2/4 - AM 80+ minutes, SW corridor to the Arboretum, around Jamaica Pond and back via Muddy River. Blackbird days well and truly here, just as windy and colder than yesterday. Pace gradually increased but never got especially quick.

Sat 2/3 - AM 60 minutes very easy in the Fens and along the river. Finished up heading back through Copley Square/Back Bay. Ice everywhere, sidewalks a hockey rink. Bitter west wind a persistent presence, not dressed adequately for it and this caused various extremities to become quite uncomfortable. Glad to be done. PM 35 minutes in Levittown. Wind calmed down somewhat, still chilly. Right hammie feeling a bit sore but loosened up in time. Moving better despite some icy spots on side streets.

Fri 2/2 - PM RLTAC 4800m Deek in 15:41. 400s mostly in the 73 range, second was 70.6 and last was 71.2. Floats ranged from 43-46 except for the two at the end which were slower, incl. the last one where I waited to regroup. A decent effort, hopefully indicative of a turnaround in how things have been going lately. Still very tired at the end of the long days lately, but not totally sapped by a hard effort. I was even able to get in a cooldown that wasn't a crawl around the floor of the gym. Right hip felt alarmingly bad during the early stages of the warmup, loosened up eventually.

Thu 2/1 - off. Not feeling it at all today. Right IT and hip tight and sore, still inflamed despite a good stretch last night. Woke up at 1:30 in the morning, not especially surprised but a bummer nonetheless.

Wed 1/31- PM 50 minutes very easy, Longfellow loop. Feeling it in every possible way after yesterday's workout. Had plans to make it all the way to Mossman but it wasn't happening and stayed closer to home as a result. Obnoxiously windy this evening, leaving the balaclava at home was a mistake.

Tue 1/30 - PM RLTAC 3(1000-2R-600) with 3.5R between sets. All splits within a second of 3:00 and 1:45 respectively. This could denote excellent pace sense, or it could be more a reflection of how much effort it required to run these paces. I set my mind to running the times but couldn't have gone any faster without completely going in the tank. Ended up there anyway on the last rep. As ever, relaxed but tired. Another 2:30 wakeup last night. By the time practice rolls around it feels like a weight on my head. Right hip feeling so-so. 15 minute slow cooldown indoors which is becoming the norm.

Mon 1/29 - PM 70 minutes, Levittown to Longfellow loop via Summerhill, five strides near the end. Feeling better today despite suffering through another fitful night's rest with a 2:30 wakeup. Right TFL much less problematic than I thought it would be. Return to colder conditions with a strong NW wind.
