One of our dogs got his nose bitten under the fence this morning by the neighbors dog. He's in at the vets overnight and will probably have a scar. Hopefully he won't do it again. There's blood spatter in a trail all over the veranda bricks.
I wrote this in an email to a friend.. I thought I'd share it.
As I was heading to Belfast in the bus back in November I realised (though that word is to clinical - understood perhaps) that in Ireland the year (coming into winter) felt weary - but, despite the cold - a cozy, good tiredness - things were being set aside for spring.
I then remembered Alice (to the point of remembering the sensation of the sun caustic on my skin) and what awaited me - Summer -
Our summer here has a wearyness to but it's not a restful one. Its a dazed, baked lethargy that sprawls over the Christmas break - During xmas break a lot of people nick off to other places leaving Alice a bit empty.
I'm still charged with energy though ^_^ Being out house sitting helps - I'm out of the family home where the lethargia seems to cling. I try to motivate my Dad and brother occassionally but it's up to them. I'm not going to be their bean pole because if that happens when I go off walk about again then they're in for a fall.

I am severly miffed!!
My pushbike got stolen today, loch helmet and all - then about a half hour later I came face to face with the theif cycling along - and pursued him - but didn't manage to catch the wretch. I hesistated - he got too great a lead.
However the police have his description and his hat, which fell off as I bolted after him like a angry bear, - with a name inside If only it had had a phone number too.
So I am putting my trust in the police and fortunes favouring finger, hoping for the best.
I really would like my pushbike back.

WHY ME?!? A brief whinge
Im four days home from overseas and going through my stored stuff - chucking bits out etc.
I've been alternately grinning like an idiot and foaming at the mouth for the last few hours as I've been trying to find things: generally succeeding then putting them down while searching for something else, shuffling stuff over the object then being unable to refind it.
I had a bit of trouble with the scanner but now its going great guns - no trouble ^_^
I'm also learning to use GIMP - a graphics program - I always get irritated trying to figure a new program out. I may load Paint shop pro onto the computer eventually but GIMP is on and I can use is for scanning and want to get that done.
I'm beginning to calm down and get this art scanned and uploaded so I'm mellower now.
