What's in a name? (part two)

So, you know how my email is 'hikaru@moonkitty.zzn.com'? Well, there (sadly enough XD) are actual reasons for this lunacy (pun intended). You see, I took the CLAMP name test, & it gave me 'Hikaru Kamuino'. Now Hikaru (Ichijo) is the real name of a certain Rick Hunter, main character of 'Robotech'. 'Robotech' was where it all started for me - before that show I had no idea what 'anime' was. And I discovered CLAMP through X, so Kamuino seems also scarily apt as a name for my manga-fangirl self.
So Hikaru it had to be. I must admit 'moonkitties' was simply the stupidest free email name I could find, so I mainly got it as a laugh. However, it is derivative of Sailor Moon AND Please Save My Earth, so that's a bonus. =^.^=
BTW, good luck to everyone who has exams on at the moment!

Hmm, 'Coldfire Trilogy' does sound interesting, but can You tell me; is it too 'boysy'? (heheh, I love the name Tarrant, since my art teacher & this character in 'Blakes 7' had that surname *^^*)

Hey Kimmie, I love Sei-chan as a Xmas pixie, LOL. I should add that I'm also a dorky, poor fangirl with little-to-no access to swanky anime loot, so it's absolutely wonderful when people are nice enough to share rare stuff with the rest of us. As for His Holiness Subaru, I fluctuate in my feelings for him. Which I think is the mark of a true fan, since I *shock* change my views on characters a lot. This includes Kei of course. I feel totally differently towards him nowadays than I did when I was first introduced to him.
Oh yes, I should note that perhaps I have been a bit harsh about Kei's looks, calling him 'bland' and all. He may have a fairly dull face, but HEY what a hot body!!!!!!!! :D And he does work that uniform, oooh yeah baby! *drool*

So, I've checked all over (esp. at the Studio Ghibli official site, although this one was more informative since it's in English), & there's really not much info about the HMC anime except that it's slated for 2003 release.

So, I've been contemplating the 'Contemplating an X' Keiichi shrine (the rest of the site is pretty cool as well, if still incomplete) and this is what I came up with...
Q. So who is this Keiichi guy?
For one thing he has nothing to do with a certain Mr Morisato!! XD Segawa-kun appears in X volumes 11, 12 & 14, seemingly on a steady descent into Earthquake trauma (& who can blame him?), but still with a cheerful outlook on life & determination to go on. Worries a lot about other people caught up in the Tokyo earthquakes, especially Kamui (who he may have a crush on). Tends to be abrupt, loud - and honest, to an almost simplistic degree. Has not an ounce of guile, nor a malicious bone in his body. Also owns the trademark on The Power of Genki.
In CLAMP Campus Section Z, he's the class chairperson; approximately 16 years old. Tall, good-looking, blonde...VERY blonde. XD XD The only 'normal' (i.e. non-magic) side-character in X to have got so much dialogue; although keep in mind that Segawa-kun does tend to blather on & on & on & on & on & on. XD
Q. Why do you like Keiichi? I mean... he's Keiichi??
Yeah, I know. *laughs* I sort of fell into Keiichi-dom kicking and screaming. *^__^* Of course, I adore the little bugger now. *sighs* OH, Keiichi, Keiichi, for just a hint of malice or magical ability, but nooooooooo, you have to be crushingly nice and normal. >_<;;;

But seriously...Reason one for liking Segwaw-kun is that he's at times COMPLETELY loopy! Hyperactive little coot. I just find him really amusing, & he absolutely does act like a little kid. I don't know, it'd be so boring if CLAMP had made Kamui's new schoolfriend uber-serious & eloquent. Especially considering what they did to Kei in the story...*insert dramatic music*
Reason two for liking Keiichi is that I had only seen blurry scans of X 11 & never properly been introduced to him until my roomie obtained X 12 & 14 for me. Now, I got 12 & 14 since I already had 13, and for no other reason. All I knew of Keiichi is that he was extremely genki, his parents had died in the earthquakes, and he has a big crush on Kamui.
Enter X 12. I was suprised by the force of Kamui's concern towards him, & yet more suprised that Segawa's mother had died during the course of the story. Where had all the genkiness gone? All I saw was Kamui doing his usual 'I feel your pain' routine and running smack into Keiichi's closed '^_^'. Segawa-kun utterly rejected any pity, not to mention his wonderful line "But...that's exactly why I have to live my mother and father's share of life as well!" And I admit his sad eyes when he looked away got to me, big-time.
This was unexpected. The last person I thought to get into deep & meaningfuls would be Segawa-kun. He's also the only person who was truely innocent & didn't deserve such horrible things to happen to him. Which, as I mentioned earlier, makes him a more interesting character. He was not yet another serious person going more serious after tragedy. Keiichi even managed to keep his good humour :D
Q. You're serious about this whole thing, aren't you?
Mmm, Keiichi + Peaches and Cream...*cough* sorry, where was I? Oh yes, my naive, demented, Keiichi-loving heart is 100% in support the boy with the strongest hair gel in the land. And I'm happy to note there are many, many others, even if most are K/K supporters and think Keiichi will gain super-powers or something (which I do not - but HEY, the world needs all sorts & I refuse to quarrel over Segawa-kun's destiny other than to demand that he not be killed off).
*shrieks* Keiichi!! Live for the fans!!

OTOH, if Ron/Hermione does happen, hopefully it'll be like in 'Howl's Moving Castle', *spoilers spoilers*where the main couple are NEVER lovey dovey. *spoilers end*

=^.^= Mayo is gradually accepting the (nameless) kitten. Still growls if it comes up to sniff her, but she's at least sleeping in the same room as it, whereas at first she'd hop out the window if the kitty came in.

I forgot to say what the Aged Parents & I actually got up to last week! Well, we went to this YUMMY Vietnamese restaurant, where I raved to Mum & Dad about the HP movie. While Dad was at his conference-thing (University history conference), Mum & I went to see Dean's Bush (a protected patch of forest); there was a pear tree there over a hundred years old, which was pretty cool. ^_^ We all three went to the beach, but it was sooooooooo hot (what do you mean Xmas is at wintertime? It's summer, duh! XD ...But, Lika-chan, I'm definitely a xmas freak, even without snow) that we ended up driving in lovely nice air-conditioned car around the headland. Other than that, it was just all art galleries and the usual parent stuff ("your room is so messy" etc ^_^).

Don't think you can get out of it so easily, ma cherie! XD I want you to write 500 lines of "Keiichi is NOT in love with Kamui". XD XD
Um, isn't there some version of the bible where 'Hell' is supposed to be living banished from God? Anyway, that notion makes a lot more sense to me that all the fire & brimstone stuff.
And I agree with what you said about Uni. I wished I'd held off going to Polytech instead of going there straight from school all burned out from exams, etc. And my Dad (he's a history lecturer) says that all the really good keen students are what's known tactfully as 'mature' students. Ergo, when I'm 30 I'm planning on going to Uni. The only reason I went to tertiary education already was that at 18 I wasn't ready to get a job & be part of that scarey old world. Institutions are much safer.^^;
And, ITA about Subby. He was really interesting in TB, but in X it's all been downhill after the excitement of seeing him grown-up wore off. He lost all of his multi-facited qualities. He used to be kind & naive & try really hard & still make mistakes like any human being. And I used to LOVE him, but he's turned into Kakyou almost.

Being also (obstensibly) lonely, single & useless, I agree with you on the smoochy-couple/pram thing (you should see Saharu-chan with her boyfriend, eeeeeeergh *shudders* It's like they're joined at the hip or something. Although I can't complain - the last time we met up, Saharu was asking me if I needed any more X manga from Osaka!). Mum also has an issue with prams; namely that people these days get jaunty baby-buggys which have the child facing away, rather than proper prams where you can see the baby at all times. And I do believe his friendship is very important to Kamui, precisely for that reason. Poor Kamui seems to have a problem getting to close to people, doesn't he?
