So I bought the brand new DWJ book 'Conrad's Fate' off Amazon.com because I have (all together now): NO SELF CONTROL!!!!! C'mon, Christopher Chant appears in it, what else could I do? And I have to say that the naysayers are exaggerating. This book is not running out of ideas or badly paced. Sure, it's no 'Deep Secret' or 'Dogsbody', but it is a damn good read & has the "oh, just one more chapter, I wanna know what happens!" factor.

Plus, teenage Christopher Chant! Who didn't want to see that? *_* (So, final verdict = people who didn't like the book were probably Expecting Great Things Because of Chestomanci and were disappointed that his role wasn't larger)

(BTW, good luck in your new job, sweet pea. It is difficult living/working with friends at times, I guess friendship is a bit of a Wild Card factor in those situations.)

A nice day today as it seems to have reverted to Summer weather for unknown reasons. Sunshine is always cheering. And! Free Comic Book Day! (<--- must say something about that on LJ) I tried to resist, really I did, but they forcibly adorned me with free samples. XP In unrelated thoughts, I need to get more exercise (AAAAAAAAH! That dreaded word!).

Oh, I forgot to put in the punch-line to my (True Life Story of Horror) tale of my first/last/only/yuck kiss:
I got mono (AKA glandular fever) from it. ^_^;;; Since I should not have allowed myself to be flattered, I take it that was kharma biting me in the ass (so to speak). Yeah, talk about unromantic.^^;;;

*huggle* When you say "not happy" with being Chinese, in what way "not happy"? (hope that didn't come across too much like a shrink^^) More power to obscure languages and names!! (where is the respect for uniqueness these days, or ever?)

Part Two of my long-lost replies to Lika-darling:

25 things that did not get done by age 25 that should have been done with an asterik on the ones that I actually want to accomplish and plan to do so by age 30 ;D
This was a great list, hons (crumbs, this means I only have four months to get through all those things? *lmao*)...allow me to jet back in time to when I was 25, & I'll play too...

1. Go on a date

2. Learn to drive a car

3. Get a full time secure job *

(yeah, until a couple of years ago I was the fixed-term/temporary position Queen)

4. Have a shelf-full of DVD boxed sets *
(of anime! *g* Plus a shelf-full of CLAMP manga)

5. Be out of debt

6. Know how to cook*

(it's not that I can't cook, it's that I'm lazy.^^;;; When I get in the kitchen and get down to work, I'm good)

7. Read "Heart of Darkness"
(...I don't know that book.^^ For myself, put "Read more Bronte novels")

8. Write something that I'm truly proud of *
(or draw ^_^)

9. Help parents out financially *
(yup, add about ten more asterixes there - sorry Mum and Dad^^)

10. Save a whale*
(...Moon-bear, NZ native bird, fox, wild cat...)

11. Start putting money in an RRSP
(done!! *shock*)

12. Write a will *
(ooohhhh, yeah. Somehow I don't think I'll leave my Mum my manga collection, though. ^_~)

13. Kiss someone on the lips
(<_<;;; Done. Well, I should say this guy - my roomie's friend - kissed me rather than the other way around...does that count? It was really wet & gross. And, it was a guy, so...*head-desk* I'm just not into guys. >_>;;; I was 24 years old and never been kissed before, we were all playing D&D and the guy flattered me. It was a whole depressing mistake, felt so horrible about it -- after that, I finally admitted certain things to myself. Well, you know....
Uh, anyway! There's the whole sorry tale. How embarrasing. *SWEATDROP* I've neeeeever eeeeeever kissed a girl before, though, so make mine "Kiss a girl on the lips" ;D)

14. Own a cellphone
(totally done: Mum bought one for me before I moved away to Christchurch and made me call home on it a lot ^_~)

15. Know how to use a camera properly
(extremely totally done, since I'm an ex-film student and I can do stuff with both still and video cameras. *g*)

16. Know how to knit a toque
(ummmm...what's a toque? ^___^ heh, I need to learn to knit ^^)

17. Be the fuck out of the school once and for all
(actually I stayed in the safety of the institution for as long as possible, far from the scarey scarey Real World)

18. Have a website up with fanfic recommandations and TV reviews *
(with fanart and mad crazy anime parodies/fanlistings/devotions)

19. Fall in love romantically

20. Have my own place -truly my own place - where I could paint the walls red *

(or: pink, purple, rainbow ;p)

21. Know how to fix the humidifier
(or at least change a lightbulb and change a washer ^_^;;;)

22. Start saving to buy a house*

23. Tell someone off to their face *

(definitely. some day I will learn how to stand up for myself *sigh*)

24. Have one picture taken of me where I actually look good *
(I'll admit the lighting is not good in the photos I've seen of you, but you still have the sweetest smile & are durn cyuuuute, NYAH!! ;3 ...meanwhile, I wanna good photo of me too, one that doesn't add on ten pounds <_<)

25. Write an essay/rant about a contraversial issue that will be the last word in that contraversial issue ;) *
(*laughs* For sure. ;D Either that or I wanna make the definitive website on Keiichi Segawa, cos I'm one sick twisted individual *wink*)

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!

Just pre-registered for Otakon. Only US, too, which was nice (was expecting US).

eeeeeeeeek!!!!!!!! #^_____^#

So. Saw 'The Leopard' last night - an Italian film from the 60s starring Burt Lancaster. Beautiful (if dry/dusty) scenery, lots of history. More importantly, I know now what Chrestomanci is supposed to look like (having seen many ridiculously beautiful Italian actors & actresses).
Yeah, seeing guys who are very tall with shiney dark hair and immaculate Edwardian-style suits makes me think of Chrestomanci, what did you expect? *grin*

BTW, the Gaiman/Amano Sandman book 'The Dream Hunters' is gorgeous beyond belief. I didn't realise the story would be like a fairy-tale. *_*

........Eeeek, I'm really going to Otakon! Really, really!! <3

I now have the deluxe 2-CD set 'Phantom of the Opera' film soundtrack (*WHEW* *catches breath*), so have now stopped rolling around gibbering. >=P

Been a bit behind at LJ since the nephews visited over the weekend, and we spent Sunday night at Borders (which was really funny/peculiar cos ali-chan also mentioned being at Borders that same night - on LJ). The nephs are fine: number two still needs a nick-name, but since he's just a baby it can wait for a while. Number one has been shunted aside from his mother by the baby & he's feeling it, but this too will be resolved in time.

Borders, how do I love thee! <3 It's been a long time since I was there at night & it was a lovely atmosphere - much more relaxed than during the day. *post-Borders glow* Re-mix jazz on the background sound system, people hanging out with cups of coffee (er, and then me racing around with massive stack of books cradled in my arms & a crazed gleam in my eye.^^;;; I swear Borders turns me into Yomiko Readman, *lmao*)...
The only damper on the evening was Mum nagging me not to buy so much, as she has been since we started planning the trip overseas for real. Yes, Ma, but this is Borders! Borderrrrrrrsssssss *drool* (sighs, I know, she's right :/ I should be saving up apart from essential purchases, eg: food, clothes. :/ But! Borders! weep)
Still, I managed to find what I really wanted, which was Doctor Who Magazine, all regenerated and shiney. Literally shiney. *_* (strokes cover)

Asides from this, I've been spending my spare time attempting to fathom Records Management (restrains self from throwing self out window) and madly searching for DWJ short story collections on Amazon UK (mmmm, Amazon.com <3). Still can't believe how many I haven't heard of! (this is when I miss Christchurch's public library. ;_; they had such an awesome collection, especially short story anthologies).

So, my fluffy bunny. #^__^# I forgot to reply to this all that time ago -- The main reason I'm pissed off with LJ being down is that I can't access that lovely picture of you dressed up as Daisuke. You in all your blonde bombshell beauty *eats her heart out* Do you have any idea how pretty you are? (And blonde! Apparently someone was thinking of me when they made you blonde.) Plus lying in on the bed reanacting that scene had me howling with laughter. You loon *huggles* (I do get around to these eventually^^;;;) THANKYOU, honey: since you're one of about five people in this world whose opinion really matters to me & makes a huge difference in my life, I shall take that as a compliment. ::KISS:: It was tons of fun reinacting Daisuke's uke moment (his finest hour: oooh Kamui you powerful seme *snerk* >;3), & I giggled far too much over it. *^_______^*
[p.s. I'm now planning our wedding to be at the British Library, with the honeymoon at Jinbo-cho prefecture in Tokyo. *wink*]

*hug* :) Mum saved the cricket! I was so relieved, as I'd spent three or four nights in tears whenever I could hear it chirping.
Pretty sure that I still owe you about fifty gazillion replies, but I'm not quite as behind as usual. *kiss* ~chu <3

Erg, 'Principles of Records Management' continues to be Deadly Dull(TM)...so what else is new? At least it's Easter. HOLIDAYS, whoo yeah. :D No work for five days, even if I have to study. And I have a Calcifer - excelent start to the break. Aaaaaannnnnnddddd saw 'Phantom of the Opera' movie on the big screen...

...as Ron Weasley would say, it was bloody brilliant. Cheese rules, and this is the best kind of cheesiness. OTT melodrama, incredible costumes, masks masks and more masks. Really nice renditions of the songs, too. "Made my night", yes, heheh. ;p

Okay, back to my regularly scheduled plotting to make myself Howl's pink&white coat (mmmm, it's time to go super-blonde methinks. Shall comfort myself with the thought that Howl takes ages to make himself pretty too XD). *V-sign*

p.s. holidays! holidays! :D

There's been an invasion of little hopping baby brown crickets everywhere - work, home, EVERYWHERE. I tried to save one last night, but failed Cricket Rescuing 101 since the moment I held it out of the window to let it fly away, it did a huge LEAP back at me & into the house. ^_^;;;

Anyway, I try to be tough about these things...however, here I am blogging because yet another daft little cricket is hiding in the sink in our computer room. It's been singing randomly all day, & is now constantly singing because it can hear crickets outside. I have no idea how to entice a cricket out of the plumbling!! WAAAH!! ;_; Normally I don't allow myself to vent on my blog...still here I am, blubbing over a cricket. *sniffle*

...I would be an excelent Bhuddist.^^ Can't stand to be near a living creature & not help it if it's lost. Even take the scarey type of spiders outside.

So...I've joined a "ROD silliness" LJ community, added two new people to my f-list, and ordered #4, 5, & 6 of the Fruits Basket manga - all to make myself feel better over a cricket. Ugh, it's no good. Still upset. Poor little thing. Stop hiding so I can save you!! :(

Do I hear a collective "ARGH, LJ IS DOWN I HAVE NO LIFE!!" reaching to the far corners of the planet? Ahhhh, reminders of the good old days of blogland, when it was "argh, Pitas is down (etc)"...*g*

Happy birthday, you. *smoochhugglekissgrope* <3 Methinks verily today is the day for public embarrasment? *eg* But since LJ is down I can't sing the annual "why was she born so beautiful, why was she born at all" song. You're off the hook this time, love. ;D Hope you have a ton of fun on this day in Montreal -- joyeux anniversarie in fact (did I get that right?^^). At the risk of outing myself as a big girlie-wirlie girly-girl: went to see 'Ella Enchanted' this morning and absolutely LOVED it! Yes, I'm 11 years old. XD The "baddies" in particular were fabulous (two evil stepsisters, Joanna Lumley - YUM! *drools* TEH SMEX! - as the evil stepmother, Carey Elwes in an hysterically OTT turn as the evil uncle: "shake-shake-shake, shake-shake-shake, shake your booty!!" - he would've had me rolling in the aisles if not for the presence of impressionable kiddies in the theatre ^_~).

And in case it sounds as if I've done nothing this weekend but go out to the movies, I shall point out that I had to get up early on Saturday morning and go to work for four hours. *puts on expression of martyrdom* Which means, of course, that I have to be a complete slob for the rest of the weekend to make up for it. ;D

De-Lovely: movie about Cole Porter's life & times, absolutely wonderful, blubbed at the end, the format with the "Director" was excellent (Jonathan Pryce, weeeeeeeee), I think it was Natalie Cole singing at one point, and the songs flowed along perfectly.

Just saw it tonight. How, in all this time, did I not know that Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and the Gershwin brothers were all contemporaries? @_@??! Something to ponder.
What I can answer is why I didn't realise that all those songs I've known & loved & sung along to for ages were written by Cole Porter. The answer is: I'm a giant Gershwin fan. It didn't occur to wonder who had written all those other songs that slipped into compilation CDs. #^___^# So, now I know. Will start with buying the soundtrack of this film (once I've dried my eyes *sniff*).

The good thing about having a blog is that I can express total gibbering love for Wolf's Rain and apologise to Lika-bunny for the random lateness of my replies (I will catch up one day! *SMOOTCH*).

*frolics around* I love you, bloggy!

So, to sum up my impression of the first five episodes of Wolf's Rain: The music! The opening & closing credit sequences! Wolves! Conflicting class structures & religions! Futuristic distopia (I really loathe that term, but that's what it is)~! Domestication versus wildness/freedom! Possibly futile questing! Definitely not going to be a happy ending! WAH!

Bloody best thing since sliced bread and Cowboy Bebop. #^____^# Even if I'm sure that I will be crying at the end.

Hee, I should really not post in LJ so late at night (like, after 11pm)...I seem to always end up sounding like a drunk 7 year old. XD Blame it on CLAMP crack and cuddling with Mokona Modoki plushies. ;3

Anyway, I've had an eeeeeeevil idea of what to do for my second LJ (jumping on the bandwagon is fun & everyone seems to have a second LJ these days^^). It's going to be called kimihiro_kun because I've decided he's the character I most want to cosplay (mmmmm Yuuko's uke *heh heh*) and its going to have all those fanarts & etc that are actually complete (HUH? Me, finish something?! No way).
BUT NOT UNTIL MY LAST ASSIGNMENT IS DONE!! *should go study right now*

Okay, I had really better go. Sweetums, thanks eh? #^__^# I will be sure to give nephew number two a hug from you.
I can't believe Satsy's going to Boston for her holidays this year. My first thought was Ko! Keiichi photoshoot!! My second thought was Cocoa! Crazed fangirling!! And my third was to go with Sats to Boston & then kidnap her to Montreal half-way through the trip in order to see Miss Lika-chan. :D
Well, wishing for it won't accomplish anything. At the very least, Lika, I hope to save up enough leave/money to go see you for next year's Halloween (since: Halloween party!!! :D). I'm sure we can think of something appropriately crazy to do on the day. ^_~ So, start prodding me, man. Don't let me wuss out (18 hour flight eeeeeeeuw ;_; I. Shall. Endure. It. *fists of determination*).

Wow, it's such a beautiful day today. I wanna go outside. ;_; It feels like Summer already. Baka study. <_< Next weekend I will take lots of photos of the last blossoms before they disppear. SAKURA! XD

I totally forgot to mention, but I dig that groovy 'Birds of Prey' TV thing. XD It's sooooooo cheesey! Way more cheesey than 'Witchblade'. It's nothing like the comicbook. Don't call the cheese police: cheese is good. *g* In moderation. I only saw one episode. And Alfred was in it (as in, Batman's butler). *_* Shiney sparkley shoujo bubbles are in order, methinks. XD

Okay, so IRL: have viewed 2nd nephew (now three weeks old), is very placid baby, doesn't cry @_@, still needs a good nickname (we're resigned to the Name O' Doom by now...it's still horrid, though^^;;;). Urg. I totally choked on my Cataloguing assignment this week - serves me right for being ever so smug about my B+ on Acquisitions, I guess. Well, the marks will be out in a couple of weeks, so I'll know then.^^;;;

At the moment: wishing I was Lirael. Not only does she have the Disreputable Dog, but also the danger & excitement that comes with the red waistcoat of the Second Assistant Librarian. ;D *giggles* Ah, Garth Nix, that was so cute. They have to carry a whistle with them at all times to summon help. *snort* XD
Although Lika-darling informs that librarians are the first to die in any war. Well, as long as I get to be licked all over like a lollipop before anything like that, it's fine. ::HEARTS:: (consider me your human-sized lollipop any time, my sweet. ^_- *contemplating Halloween date - bats, pumpkins, Read or Die cosplay, sweets, haunted houses - mmmmm* ^__^) Why didn't I just move to Canada and go to classes with you?

The event last week was: nephew numero deus arrival. (Stirling. AKKK! Why, Nee-chan, why? I hate the name. It's a surname and it's from a Scottish castle. Much as I love Scottish castles I don't need baby nephew to be named after one.^^;; Must think of good nickname soon)...Have not been able to see him yet, as the Viewing Gallery is closed while Nee-chan & Onii-chan juggle nephew numero uno, problems with breast-feeding, and routine baby medical checkups. All I've seen are photos of very red-faced sprog, poor kid. No-one is photogenic at 5 hours old.

The event week before last was: the Natalie Cole concert - so excelent. She's a real pro, and more to the point she swings. Oh yes. ^____^ Can't believe I never heard the songs 'Mr Melody' and 'Love Everlasting' before. @_@ Must get them on CD. When she sang 'Smile' and 'Unforgetable' I cried.^^

Have been indulging in Retail Therapy. I'll most likely get B5 first...

Must-haves in shops:
- Blakes 7 1st season DVD box set.
- Buffy season 7 box sets.
- Babylon 5 (!!!!!!!!!) season 4 box set. (Marcus and Steven = fake marriage license on Mars. Wahaha! B5 slashiness is where it's at. *very big thumbs-up*)

Must-haves in online stores:
- CLAMP Kiseki 15th box plus chess-board. (simply because they have cute chibis drawn all over the box inner-case)
- volume 3 of XXXHolic and volume 4 of Tsubasa, original Japanese version for the mini-calendars (I hear they are only the first half of 2005, and the next volumes out will have the second half. All this means is that CLAMP gets yet more of my money. XD)

As usual CLAMP has eaten my brain. But this year I'm digging those two new series so much more. Last year I only had Chobits and Angelic Layer, which were cute but hardly mind-blowing (Chobits had a lot of potential but never quite got there IMHO). I guess Tsubasa and XXXHolic are just that much weirder with less of the cutesiness (no-one loves cute more than me, except CLAMP has so much more to offer and I appreciate their unusual stuff more than their mainstream stuff - i.e. MKR vs Clover for instance). Um, not just weirder, but the style and the story are taken to a different level. I for one am blown away.

...and I've just realised that last year and this year, all my CLAMP readings were shonen series. Cool! :3

Gosh, this weekend has been the first in such a long time where I actually got to relax and do nothing for a change. *contented sigh* I got to go swimming too: so nice. This pool complex didn't seem to be chlorinated either...wonder what they use instead? Great not to have that terrible pervasive chemical smell everywhere. Oh! Watched Bridget Jones' Diary tonight which is absolutely hysterical - must ask Keri-chan if she's seen it, she must see it. Made me smile.

Goals for next week are to GET DRAWING (need practise, hella yeah) and finish up my reading. Goals for right now are to go to bed & read XXXHolic again. 'Night night! <3

Was watching the World of Wearable Arts awards show tonight, and it was wonderful. It's a NZ-only event, but this year there were a lot of foreign entries & foreign winners. My favourite bits were: (a) they had the running theme of a small girl lost in a strange world, who is befriended by a fox-boy. The fox-boy takes the girl around, so they kept randomly appearing in the distance or riding though scenes in a sleigh or whatnot. (b) the exhausted runner who kept also appearing, slogging across the stage amidst the other beautifully adorned performers in his tank-top & running-shorts. XD (c) the 20's style performance during the Bizarre Bra section, complete with George Gershwin being sung and lots of fedora hats.

...the Bizarre Bras being a highlight in itself, naturally. LOL! My other perenial fave is the UV section, this year the winner was a piece called "Key Notes" which had floating notes, and you could see the hands of the performer conducting with a baton. Awesome.

I have not the words to describe how lyrical and beautful this was. There are some damn talented people in the world, that's for sure. The idea of taking art off the walls in galleries and putting it onto people for wearing is great.

In a totally unrelated note: I hope I can make it to Borders tommorow. *fingers crossed* And, to keep tabs on this, there is no appearance from the new upgraded model of nephew yet. I still need a nickname for him too, desperately since Nee-chan is unrelenting in her awful choice of name.^^;;; No, trust me, it's awful.^^;;;

Relaxing weekend for a change (those precious words "a break from study" ^______^. And they didn't rope me into working all day Saturday, so complete laziness for Ammie. Yay)...spent the night at Auckland with family, saw Quinn, didn't get to Borders. Q-ball's latest thing is maniacal laughter: real MUAHAHA stuff. He might sound slightly more terrifying if he wasn't a squeaky 2-year-old. XD Next time we're up I will have to elope to Borders since I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed 'Hana-Kimi' #2. *has hissy fit*

On the retail therapy front, I may have found something I've been wanting for a long time. *crosses fingers like crazy* Photos will definitely be in order if I do get my grubby paws on it. The only other thing I need to go with it is a RL Princess Hinoto. *looks at Hinoto-hime with big pink lovehearts in the place of eyes*

Saw 'The Triplets of Belleville' tonight - wow. Socks most assuredly knocked off. It was very unique. The dog was fabulous & behaved so much like a real dog. :P

Quick list of all the rants I owe to bloggy here: Love, Seishirou, Misato, Female Anime Characters...think that was all...oh...wait, there were a couple of other comments that came up on Cocoa's LJ a while ago. Will add those in too.

Have been watching my DVDs of 'The Prisoner' (bought the box set over a year ago, but only got up to the fourth episode). It's fabulous. Reminds me of why I tend to avoid filling out forms & why I hate to have to justify things (he could easily tell them why he resigned but the simple fact is that he shouldn't have to explain himself. Free will & all that). "I am not a number, I am a free man!" Words to live by, my friends.

(and in a random moment of -almost - clarity)
Lika-dear, please tell your roomie that her dress was lovely, the ribbon tied around the waist an excelent touch. And thank you very much for the trip report, etc.

(now, back to the usual insanity)
*squee* Lanie is so right about the fifties thing! Styling! You'd be soooo cute...er, more so, I should say. (When I was roomies with J-chan, I used to spin around in the big-swivel~y-chair-that-leaked-oil and then go "I'm dizzy!" J-chan's response every time was to simply raise an eyebrow. And I'd go "okay, okay, more so" LOL)
It makes me want to have 'Chobits' music at our wedding (no arguments! wedding now! this is not a request! you. me. hand in marriage. XD), because the 'Chobits' soundtrack is heavily influenced by old-time rock'n'roll. Oh! And 'Chobits' karaoke, since "Let Me Be With You" is the perfect wedding song!! :D

(okay, so I should stop posting on poor bloggy when I've had a long day at work, it's 11PM, & I'm tired out of my mind. *g* At least you get to point and laugh at me, so its all good. ^_~)

So. Life update.
I still owe Lika a billion trillion zillion reply type thingees (on cats, Hugh Jackman + Alan Cummings musical numbers, and other really incredibly sage & sensible topics *coughcoughYeah, right, sensible moi?coughcough* XD).
Ko might be doing some X photo type stuff with Cocoa (cos, c'mon, who else is in Boston and the RL Keiichi-plushie? - even I could instantly figure this out). Ko is God, Ko is any number of deities, I'm so afraid of jinxing myself and horrible horrible crushing disappointment. Hey! I know. If it goes through I swear I will have the computer checked out again & iphoto fixed and post up the pic of me with Eyeball-san (cheers for Eyeball-san). I love the official Eyeball-san colour pic. XD
Cocoa-chan, I am SO your slave and a nice close-up of the wedding kimono is all I really need. *bows*
We're going to Auckland tommorow to see Quinn and the Creature From the Black Lagoon. Also I hope to go to Borders. And live there. *::HEARTS:: Borders like no tommorow, for it is my dearest love*
Next weekend I have to see 'Spidey 2' since it won't be in theatres for much longer.
Um...oh, I got trained up on the mailroom duties today, which is mucho cool. Nice work, shame about the patrons (as the song goes. XD Actually, most people are nice, it's just the odd one who can ruin your career. Customer service is dangerous for wearing-heart-on-sleeve people like me, I'm afraid. :/)

Because of my birthday, this month is plushie month (translation: I lost all self-control in buying plushies and used my birthday as an excuse ;P). One for each week, which makes it Kamui, Yumi, Chi, and Misato.
Misato arrived in a GIGANTIC box today. I didn't realise how big she would be.^^ She has her trademark cross under her chin, and a removable Nerv jacket. But...she's too big...I'm more into UFO/chibi style plushies. Misato is very cuddly & soft & no sharp corners, so I might give her to Nee-chan & Onii-chan's new baby (launch-date = T minus four weeks and counting. They won't tell us if it's a boy or a girl either. So I refer to the new baby as "niece/nephew/creature from the black lagoon"). Quinn's getting two teddy bears off me, so he gets the better deal. XD New baby had better like Misato. Besides, c'mon, what other unborn kid can say they own an original doujinshi-circle-made Misato Katsuragi plushie? *g*

I love Misato so much. She's my favourite Eva character. She's also the only one who wants Shinji to do something from his own motivation. She spends most of the TV show yelling at him and saying if he doesn't want to be there, then just go. Misato = cool. Plus she's a funny drunk (I can't believe she fed the penguin on CURRY!!!!!!!! ROFLMAO!!!!!!!) - er, no prizes for guessing my fave episode.
Anyway, yes, there are few anime/manga female characters I have respect for--
(the ones in X are pretty good, but apart from Yuzu and Karen and Arashi - I read mostly shoujo manga series - most girls in shoujo stories have a lot to be desired. In a nutshell they're too pretty & too perfect & too protagonist-ish...there a are whole bunch of other problems I have with them, though; mostly that it's difficult to identify with them, while throughout the storylines the audience is continually pushed into their viewpoint. This is a rave for another day...)
--Misato being one of them. And she giggles nearly as much as I do. ^_-

Good things come to those who wait. :)

In other words, forget what I said about Ueda-san being cute like Aoki & Saiki blushing to the power of ten. He ain't got nothing on the cuteness of my Lika-bunny. <3 <3 <3 <3 (adorable to the power of fifty windmasters blushing...Jeannie's looking good there too). You are my reason for breathing, and I'll look forward to the postcard. ^_~

Meanwhile Cocoa-chan continues to do the unexpected (beautiful Seishirou kimono in collaboration with none other than Brooke. *WORSHIPSWORSHIPSWORSHIPS*). Hey, the shikigami plushie strikes again! :P

You guys rule. I am so glad your respective trips went swimmingly (= well/good/great/awesome). Now, in the interests of living vicariously through you...trip reports, onegai...?

I found out about the Japanese Harry Potter merchandise available on Ebay. Pray for me, I may never return...*laughs*

Seriously droolworthy stuff (the Monster Book of Monsters is soooooooo cute!!!!!! I resisted it because I had to get the Marauder's Map towel instead - PICTURE CHANGING in hot water. :}=====-------0 *drool* Okay, so I'm madly in love with a map now. Is this a sign to seek professional help, or is it a sign it's way too late for that? XD Well, at least in towel form it will be of practical use. *remembers the talk about towels in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy*), and yet another reason to emigrate to Japan, as if I needed one.^^

Hey. There should be an official list: "You Know You Should Emigrate To Japan When..."

For the longest time I've still had the love & affection in my heart for the idea of some sort of "Non-Dragon Central Headquarters" website (in order to further my unhealthy obsession with anyone & anything side or minor in X, hee hee). I had the name (Destinies Aside) and a few rough sketches of potential layouts.

But that was it. Really, really, really lacking in content apart from a few vague promises of "fun stuff".

In any event - got inspiration today!! ^_^ A way to make sure all of the non-dragons get equal attention (or near enough. Can't promise that much for Kyouga, Saya & Tooru^^;;;)...this roughly translates to "not letting Keiichi hog everything". *g* Although you can be sure I'll finish his section first. Crackhead obsession is true obsession. *hugs the little nutjob* #^___^#

This makes me happy. My crazed attaching myself limpit-like to side characters in most series you could name (particularly in the medium of anime/manga which tends to have such incredibly adorable side characters who get all the funny lines & then quietly step aside) is getting beyond control.

Recently it's Hiragi/Daisuke from Please Save My Earth (hysterical face-pullings, & guilt-trips. OMG the guilt, poor dear) with the worst haircut ever in the history of anime, Wendy from Read Or Die (her look of absolute determination as she made the tea...I finally fell for her.*eg* Oh, and she prat-falls almost as well as my dear editor boys Emori & Iwasaki, dropping books as she goes) proving that cute subservient girlie characters can be funny too, Mr Bakery Shop Guy from Chobits (Ueda-san! *cheers* Give us chocolate cake, for we do love thee!! And you made the chocolate yourself by hand, therefore proving yourself the sexiest character in all of CLAMPdom. If what Sats-chan says about chocolate being the most sexy commodity a man can have is true. XD) who is not only practically a Keiichi clone but also reaching toxic levels of cuteness (think Aoki & Saiki blushing, to the power of ten. It's that adorable *SQUEE*), the first manager guy from Gravitation (don't remember his name, it's like "Sanada" or something. The guy with glasses. I've only seen the first episode off a Newtype preview DVD) who spazzes out the best I've ever seen (seeing is believing, you'll just have to trust me on this - it's hilllarious) and tries to throw himself out the window with a cheerful cry of "good luck in your future careers :D" at which point I pledged undying loyalty, and Percy Ignatius Weasley (realisation that he's not animated has struck me, but ahhh the perenial favourites never cease to amuse. That brown-nosing, lickspittle, greasing, ginormous git) who I just can't help feeling sorry for & identifying with.^^;;;

[Editor's note: Ammie asked me to mention that there's only one girl on that list because the fangirl in residence is a misogynist pig; also noting that she tends to like funny characters who make her cry. Girls with nice boobies rarely make Ammie cry]

Somehow it seems a good idea to consider making a LJ community for side characters from general anime, in order to preserve my sanity. Maybe I should bat that around on the good old LJ friends list - maybe Shi-chan or someone will make encouraging noises, and I'm curious as to whether there are side characters f-list people are into who they just don't mention often. (Yeah. Side character repositories are the order of the day. ^___^ The fact that I'm uncertain about this, though, shows itself in how I'm muttering about this on my blog rather than being upfront on LJ.^^ I'd also like to make a poll about possible web domain names - LOL percyignatiusweasley.net - it seems a tad too navel-gazing & ego-tripping though^^)

[Editor's note: Ammie would like to add that she misses Lika-chan - a day without Lika-chan is like a day without sun. Sending best wishes for the impending convention to Cocoa-chan, who she hopes will get to do everything planned and see everyone - especially Ari & C]

Went to hairdresser's yesterday - now I have R.O.D. Wendy hair!! *dances*
Well, it's still a little too long at the back, and needs a tad more layering. This can be altered at a later date, though. It's nice to be all blonde again. XD

Incidently, Cocoa-chan, Read or Die is definitely recommended. Fun, fun series. Yomiko's sooooooooooo cute. ^_^

Got Pocari Sweat yesterday after my haircut. The first time I tried it I didn't like it that much. Yesterday I really enjoyed it, however. Calpis Water is very nice also (I had the "real thing" one time at a Japanese Yakitori place - not the canned variety. Oiishi!). The good thing about Japanese soft drinks & sweets is that most of them are not so highly sugared super-sweet. Japanese chewing gum is soooo nice.

Awwwww, Lika-chan, how old are your nieces now? Hope they had a good birthday. ^___^

There is talk on LJ about Anne of Green Gables, The Princess Bride, and Seishirou! Guh. I'm quitting my day job & staying online 24/7.
*g* Ah well, happy memories.

It's okay, bloggy, I will save all my rants for you. <3 *GLOMPS Dai-kun for good measure*

Bed now. I will have pleasant thoughts of my dreaming princess (come to think of it, Hinoto-hime would be the ideal covergirl for this blog, since it's named after Sleeping Beauty and all^^;;; DUH, Ammie!^^)

Bloggy here is probably in shock from getting a proper layout for the first time. It's been about three years since I started my blog, & for the majority of that time it was set on the default template with minor tweaking of colours. LOL

Oh, to be in the Diet Building basement with Hinoto-hime. *dreamy sighs* I still have this major soft spot for her, because of being a sucker for her "weepy forlorn fragile" act (& because evil!Hinoto is so sexy, mmmmmm *drools*).

Anyway, I have managed to catch up with comments/socialness at LJ. Socialness here is one step closer. #^_____^#

*THUD*

Talk about a layout I've been wanting for over two years. Anime!Daisuke has always been the ultimate goal, but I still don't have the skills to manage it myself. Luckily: birthday present from Cocoa-chan has exceeded even my lofty expectations. This is just GORGEOUS. Cocoa doth ruleth on high!! Wow. *tears of joy*
Cocoa-chan, I do hope you have a wonderful time in Canada.

Well, I should really get about and clean up this place (check up dead links, etc, since the Big Migration to LJ of '03 that they speak of in the history books. ^_-). Heyhey number one reason for going to Canada myself, I like the red. Prettiful! :D When I'm done with cleaning there will be socialness. <3
