Saturday, February 7, 2004 | [Shouldering my frustration]

This is dumb. I walked into the othopaedic surgery today and the doctor told me I have soft ligaments and that playing badminton, or anything that puts too much stress on my shoulder (swimming, etc.) would cause it to pop out entirely. He sent me over to the "Diagnostic Radiology" department.

So I went over there... and found myself in a room filled with old people. Ignoring this, I took 3 x-rays before going back to the clinic with the shots. It was around 9, and the clinic at the hospital was already getting a bit full.. with old people. I was beginning to feel very old. My dad was joking on how many injuries I have, and that how most of them are related with age. I mean, fuck, look at me... I'm definitely not even halfway, physically grown yet.

Bah, the curse and blessing of being me. I always get to experience all the weird stuff.

Wednesday, February 4, 2004 | [Knock down those walls]

I'm troubled by my own prejudices. I've talked about it to someone, but then it didn't really have the effect I needed. I needed confidence about my prejudices. I needed something which.. satisfied the uncertainty within me.

What am I talking about? Ha, I'm proud to admit that I have this hidden disgust for those who are proud to be... to just BE.

People who are content to be oblivious to their surroundings because they aren't affected by it (or so they think). People who can't appreciate anything other then the shopping mall. Not that I have anything against shopping malls, I just don't like those who are typical... holy crap they're just materialistic plastic (spastic) barbie dolls with too much cash. And the guy version can be Ken.

So what do I prefer? I prefer ego-killers like Cheryl (haha. I prefer cynics and those who think way too much, only to depress themselves. I prefer rebels and punks who aren't satisfied because they've realised something wrong about life. Even people like Terry, give him credit for having a mind of his own.

Yes, thats it. I've finally managed to define those people I dislike. Its the typical Singaporean. The one that goes about the same routine day after day, not caring for anything else other then whether Phua Chu Kang is on tonight. The ones who don't have an opinion. Is it wrong for them not to have one? No. But thats the way I feel.

See my problem? I'm being so unfair, yet I feel like I am fair. When I entered PCSS, I expected the entire school to be like that. Fortunately, I have found at least a few who aren't so.

I am very tempted to write about it in my editorial. But it's this moral battle within me that's going on which is preventing me from writing it.

Tell me, am I unfair?

Thursday, January 29, 2004 | [Bored]

"You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named 'Bush', 'Dick', and 'Colon'. Need I say more?" Chris Rock

Wednesday, January 28, 2004 | [Dislocation]

Bah. Dislocated my shoulder in P.E. today. Second time I've dislocated it. First time was last year during a badminton game with church folks. I didnt know i had dislocated it at the time, I just massaged it and then continued playing.

So now I'm suffering. Turns out that the dislocation is bad. My right arm is a lot weaker than my right at the moment. Wait, it has been like that for quite some time actually. Damn Mr. Fong made a quip saying that it was a sign of a bad writer -_- Can't believe it just came out when Tzehau yanked it.

So now its swollen and pain. Everytime I twitch my fingers its pain. I obviously didnt pop it back in properly this time.. I can feel it moving and popping away in my shoulder. My dad took a look at it and instantly went "Shit" (medical bills. nothing else. hehehe)

So... Looks like I cant go to school tomorrow. Dad wants it checked and x-rayed. Damn, there's Lit tomorrow and I can't go. Also, theyre having the elections for House Captains tomorrow. Looks like Im not going to be a Captain.. Heh. Maybe I can be a cheerleader or something.
