Someone is discretely inquiring about the lost journals of Agon--Heldannic warlord & nethermancer--as they supposedly contiain reference to missing sections of the Mnima--a holy tome for a secret society/undeath cult.

An Illustrated Gallery is a recent book by an unknown author &/or artist. It focuses on the art scene in and around the city of Citadel, both before and after its status as a necropolis. There are numerous full-colour plates depicting dozens of pieces, in remarkably exacting detail. In addition to its uses as a cultural or scholarly work--or the incredibly precise replications of paintings--the book is useful in that it is the most complete collection of Volgor's paintings ever in one place. As the paintings themselves were scattered across three continents shortly after each was painted, they have never before been gathered together like this, even if only in book form. Volgor's paintings are notable for his tendency to incorporate mystical symbols within, especially those related to summoning. The replicates in the book are fully safe to peruse, unlike the genuine articles. Several have come forward claiming to be either the author or illustrator, but no one can yet match the artistry of the reprints, especially as each copy must be repainted by hand...

Archmagus Obsidrian has spoken with the king of Formour. He is heading to Citadel to oversee the rebuilding as a Viscount. In other news, it seems the war in Osterre has come to a crest. Supposedly the Orck leaders have removed Scirje from the battle. They want nothing more than respect and peace according to some reports. Also there is an odd glow from the Firp swamp in Osterre. It was present before, but has increased much more in the past few weeks.

Play-By-Post
There is a force gathering to combat the Great Scourge in Osterre. Currently in the Killian Empire, but many of the members of this fighting force hail from as far away as the Farreaches.

Princess Arwen has won a martial arts tournament in the Killian Empire. Fighters from all over Midian participated. Many say that Arwen fought unfairly ("dirty" is the word most commonly used), but this is most likely the combination of petty jealousy & her quite unconventional fighting style--she definately plays to win, by any means necessary. Once she returns from her trip retrieving the tournament prize, she may have to face many aspiring martial artists wanting to make a name for themselves by taking her down. One learned observer disagrees, saying, "Anyone who goes against her won't know what to expect; they just know that it will hurt... and hurt bad."

A knightly organization is apparently operating in the Farreaches. They have been sighted in battle with the local Hobgoblin tribes. It is uncertain what their plans are at this time, but they have not attacked any Dwarf or Human settlements, and do not seem to be conquering lands or towns.

Travellers in the Farreaches area west of the Heldannic Freeholds are reporting an increase in raids by Hobgoblins. Some of these attacks involve bandits that are wearing tribal colours that have not been seen before. It is unknown whether this is a new tribe, or one that has been in hiding since the collapse of the Olde Empire.

Vrid, a Troll child prodigy Wizard, has taken over a coastal city in the Byzant Empire. He has sent envoys to the Emperor, the Elves, Goths, and the Kingdom of Formour. This last one is odd, in that Vrid is believed to have been exiled from that Kingdom for heinous crimes against humanity.

Pieces of the Hephaestus device are being discovered with alarming frequency. Perhaps they are attempting to unite themselves?
