JoJo Akane dropped by to pass me the Iced Earth cds that she burnt for me >:D Now won't have to listen to the slow and pop songs that my friends play in my lab.. can listen to some |m| FUCKIN HEAVY METAL!! |m| XD Saw Roxanne a few days ago.. had a long chat with her. Talked about cosplay and other stuff. Speaking of which.. I just had a crazy cosplay idea for Cosfest 2003. I'll talk more about it IF I actually pull it off.. XD

Audition
Sunday, June 15, 2003 11:10 p.m.
Woke up and (finally) cleaned my room. Went out later to meet Ivan, Akane and Tabe. Went to Diamond Dust late and didn't see them. Went to Centrepoint to look for a phone. Couldn't find one. Fine. Walked back to Heeran to look for a phone. Most of the levels didn't have one and the first floor had faulty phone. Fuck. Stormed off to the nearest building.. which was Paragon and got hold of a phone. Found out that they were upstairs at Diamond Dust. Double Fuck §-____- Stormed back to Diamond Dust again and saw them sitting outside. Ivan gave me a bottle of water to help me cool down. Rested for a while and then went up to sing. After careful thought in the bus during the journey there, i decided to sing Siam Shade - 1/3 no Junjouna Kanjou. Started off abit weak but managed to pick up halfway. Seemed that the judged were enjoying the song.. coz they were clapping along. One of them asked me if I had already memorised the lyrics. Replied that I had and was quite familliar with this song coz i had performed it before. Was questioning if the judges were really enjoying me singing the song.. found out from Tabe that the judges did the same for him also. Wonder if its their way of encouraging the singer *shrugs* Got a voucher for an extra hour of free KTV for joining the audition. Went to Heeran for a while.. met Sakuya and Wenjie there. Played Sengoku 3 with Sakuya and Tabe. Not much progress again. Left for Cineleisure to eat dinner. Ate at the Food Court.. then went off to Kinokuniya.. met Iris along the way. Spent most of the time at the comics section.. and talking cock as well XD Left for home with Iris.. gave her 2 of my burnt Jrock cds to make way for Iced Earth albums *rubs hands in glee* >:D Wonder how Ed's doing in Tekong. Can't wait for him to pass out of BMT. Then we can start jamming again.

Singapore Street Festival 2003

Went to school in the morning. Touched up on my Flash Animation a bit. Can you believe it? I've been working on 1 flash animation for the past week §-_____- JoJo Akane came by my lab at around 12 somethin. Left for Orchard around 1 p.m. Had a miserable lunch.. 2 slices of bread with butter.. had to save some money for dinner. Chatted abit with JoJo Akane in the bus.

Got to Heeran at about 2. Didn't see anyone except Deathopia and Zhiwei. Followed them to Faber Park. Still didn't see anyone there. Guess they were all late. Saw the first band play. LGF.. not much of an impression of them. Maybe coz i couldn't recognize the songs that they played. Next up was La Dies.. their songs sounds very heavily Dir en grey influenced (in my opinion anyway). Didn't really like it.. apparently the sky agreed with me too coz it started to rain. Everyone was scrambling into the tents to take shelter from the rain. Just too bad for La Dies i guess. Next up was Deathopia. They played a Silver Ash and Nightmare song.. not too bad la. Then they played Fear of the Dark. Not bad la.. but can't hear the guitar solo properly.. very soft. Emerson put his bass volume too loud §--;; Then they played Luna Sea's Rosier. Sounds ok lor. Then there was a short interval so i took this oppertunity to rest (was quite tired after chanting along with a few cocksters when Tabe was singing Fear of the Dark.. to simulate the Rock in Rio atmosphere XD Only those who listen to Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark [Live in Rock in Rio] will know what i'm talking about.) and to walk around and talk to the rest who had reached there. The next band was Heaven & Earth (Tian Di Hui).. heard that they were a chinese rock band so i decided to stick around and listen to their songs. I wasn't disappointed.. in fact i was quite overwhelmed by their technicality in their playing style. Guitar tapping solos (that sounds somewhat similar to Daita's), bass tapping solos and screaming vocals (the likes would give Tabe a run for his money). I later found out that they were a progressive rock band.. which would explain the technicality. I could say that in my opinion they were the best band performing there on that evening.. their playing was almost flawless (although I recall one of the guitarist missing some notes when he was shredding) and I really enjoyed listening to their songs. After Heaven & Earth, Gearbox was the next to perform. Not much impression about them also.. except that the bassist is quite good. The only song they played that I recognized was Honey by L'Arc~en~Ciel.. have a feeling that it was their first time performing. Kurotenshi was up next. They took abit of time to set up and tune their stuff. First song was Luna Sea's Gravity. Not too bad la although certain parts sounded funny. Then they played Dir en grey's I'll. I think they made abit of mistakes but overall ok also. Then before they played the next song, Ivan said "Are you ready for some mikan?!". Sex Machineguns' - MIKAN NO UTA~!! Wahahahahahaha XD XD XD Was having a ball of a time singing/shouting together with Ivan. Johnathan played the solo.. i believe that he improvised it a bit.. Not bad leh :p They proceeded with X Japan's X after that. The cocksters in front all agreed to jump everytime Ivan shouted "X!" Haha.. quite enjoyable.. after the last few X's alot of ppl stopped jumping already.. too tired §^^;;; Then for the finale.. they played Iron Maiden's The Evil That Men Do. Great song.. but i had spent alot of my energy jumping and shouting.. so what resulted was me singing the whole song off key.. but continued to sing along anyway. Was totally drained of my energy. Last band to play was Defuse.. they played a Beyond song for the intro. Leo was drinking beer in between singing.. found that a bit odd §^^;; They played Guns N' Roses' - Sweet Child of Mine. Hmm.. lets say that it could have been better. After that they played X Japan's Celebration. Turned around just in time to see JoJo Akane going ballistic. I quickly led her away from Faber Park and towards the MRT station. She was ok as soon as we were out of hearing radius. After a short while she left for home.. and I returned to Faber Park.. apparently they had finished playing. Went with Sakuya, Zhiwei and Deathopia to eat at Burger King.

Woke up surprisingly early.. 8.45 a.m. Don't ask me why.. must be my body has gotten used to waking up at this time. Got a call from Ed at 1 p.m. saying that he will be going to Jiaxiong's house to watch Sex Machineguns - SM Show. He asked me to meet him at 2.30 p.m. Hmm ok.. Went to meet them at Bedok Interchange. Saw Edmund and Jiaxiong botak XD XD XD Ed looked like a monk.. Jiaxiong looks like Chun's brother coz of his glasses. The only one among us who had long hair was Ah Xiu.. reminds me of my long hair §T__T Hmm maybe i'll put up a pic of my hair at its longest XD Went to Jiaxiong's house and watched abit of the SM Show. Couldn't watch all of it coz we had to meet the rest of the cockster gang later. Saw Jiaxiong's hamter.. haha so cute. Its fur had centre parting and looked like it was dyed gold.. ah beng hamster XD Jiaxiong put it on his botak head a few times.. lol. Saw a bit of Judas Priest also.. Ed say he wants to jam The Ripper. Hmm.. got to try singing it in my free time. Met up with Ivan, Akane and Luna at Graffiti Cafe. Went to eat at Food Court. Saw Kiru and Meiyan there. Ivan, Akane and Luna went back home.. Went back to Graffiti Cafe to play abit. Wendi, Tabe, Emerson, Alfe and Ah Long came down. Hung around there for a while.. at the very last minute they decided to eat at the japanese shop that was beside Orchard Point. Wendi ordered a kind of fried chicken.. forgot the name. Ed and Alfe ordered ramen and gyoza. Had to leave soon coz it was late.. Tabe, Emerson and me helped Wendi to finish the chicken §^^;;; Tabe, Wendi and me hurried to the mrt station.. just in time too. Talked with Wendi abit during the ride home. Ne, Wendi.. gambatte §^^ By the way.. Happy Birthday Alfe.

Overslept today so I didn't go for FYP. Just lazed at home and listened to some songs. Met Jiaxiong, Ed, Jiaxiong, Ah Xiu, Ivan, Akane, Rimei, Noshuu and Pinku. Tu di dye her hair liao =P Went to eat at LJ. Nothing special.. just the usual Saturday night with the cockster gang.. 'cept for one thing. When I was boarding the bus home from Dhoby Ghaut, there was this guy behind me.. he reached out and tapped his EZ link card on the reader before I got a chance to do so. I was like.. "Can't this guy wait?" so I just tapped my card and went to sit down right at the back. Was taking out my discman.. and when I looked up I saw the bus driver calling me to the front. He asked me to tap my card on the reader again to make sure that I paid the fare. WTF?! So bloody embarresing. I did so and it showed 'Entry Ok'. Then I just remembered.. that the reader gave out the sound of it not registering payment when the guy behind me tapped his EZ link card. Too bad I can't remember his face.. if not I would have loudly muttered something like "Don't know which cheebye got no money to board bus, go and frame me" as I walked back to the backseat. But being the nice guy I am, I just sat in front.. partly coz I don't want to start something and partly because I felt to damn embaressed.. like I'm some bangla trying to get a free ride. Motherfucker. If there's one thing that I REALLY hate most.. is being made a fool out of. With the exception of being made a fool out of by my good friends.. once in a while. Yare Yare.. i repeat, Motherfucker.

Cockster Dinner Gathering

School started as usual. One of the lab supervisor came to our lab to inform Hazel that she's being pulled out from her FYP coz she still has 1 more module that she hasn't completed. The module is only 3 hours.. by right she should be able to take it concurrently with her project.. but her course manager was such an ass that he wanted her to take it with her other Year 3 modules. So she had to leave the rest of the work to Xueyan.. she was with us for 1 week and she had to leave already. So sad. Had a special appearance in my lab by the NYP Daita.. i know Ed is gonna get pissed reading this XD Seems like he knows Xueyan. Talked to him abit.. Name's Kelvin.. also from School of Engineering.. also in 3rd year. I showed Kelvin the pic of Daita on the Setsunasa Yoorimo Tookue leaflet that I had brought. I think he quite paiseh.. kept saying 'no la.. don't look like' even when his other friends agreed that he did resemble Daita XD

Went to meet the cockster gang at Bedok.. Tabe, Ed, Sakuya, Ivan, Akane, Issami, Pinkspida, Wendi and Kiru. Gish came down to pass some coffee bean stuff drinks to Ed and Pinku and a Mcdonald's Happy Meal to Akane. Left to eat at Blk 85. Waited a while before eating.. Wendi got abit giddy so the some of the girls accompanied her to the toilet. Was abit of a mess.. had to handle some orders when the people weren't at the table.. but soon everything settled down. Ah Xiu and Jiaxiong joined us a while later. Went to order carrot cake.. spent the rest of the time talking with the rest of them.. the usual cockster + band stuff. Overall not too bad.. except that the guy ordering drinks was quite a pain in the ass. Pity that Ed and Jiaxiong have to go into NS so soon.. we were looking forward to playing in the Singapore Street Festival.. guess it will have to wait until the end of the year.

Urban Drum and Bass

Boring day at school. Jojo Akane came down to pass me my Sex Machineguns dvds. Yay~.. now I just need a dvd rom to watch them §-__-; Spent the rest of the day doing lab stuff in 'The Glass Prison'. Headed down to Heeran after school to pass Ed his dvd. Saw a few of the arcade regulers there. Played abit of Sengoku 3 with Ed.. quite good, we managed to get to the 3rd level without losing any lives. But we had to leave shortly coz we were running a bit late to meet Kiru and Sakuya. Went to have dinner at the Food Court in Cine. Walked around abit and started to head back to Heeran when Ed noticed that someone was playing bass. I heard it too and went to check out.. it was coming from the stage just next to the Heeran building. We saw these 2 guys performing.. one guy was playing bass and another was hitting a yellow barricade with his drumsticks.. and the music that they made was really good! The bassist's style of playing was very funky.. kinda like Flea from Red Hot Chilli Peppers.. except not as vicious or fast. After one of their 'performances' the percussionist switched to empty paint tins and started playing away. Needless to say that by this time me, Ed, Sakuya and Kiru were literally gaping at their performance. And if that didn't beat it.. their next performace took the cake. The percussionist threw away the paint cans and knelt in front of the bassist. The bassist put his fingers on the fretboard.. and the other guy started to hit notes on the bass strings with his drumsticks. Me, Ed and Sakuya were like 'WTF?!' but play on they did. Ed was mumbling something like "He's playing harpsichords on the bass with the sticks...". Damn solid performance.. got a few shots of them with my camera, lucky thing I had it in my bag. Found out that the 2 guys were from Switzerland.. they're called Urban Drum & Bass. Went up to Graffiti Cafe to rot a while. I played another round of Sengoku 3.. after which we decided to go home.

Went home and waited for midnight to check my results. Ed was playing Iron Maiden's "2 Minutes to Midnight" on his shoutcast. Kinda made me a bit nervous but i enjoyed the song nonetheless.

Listened to some Incubus songs in the morning. They kinda sound like Nu Metal during the chorus parts but they got some rock riffs and arpeggios when the verse is being sung. Quite a unique style.. Nu Rock? §^^;; Went to Heeran as usual. Played abit of Sengoku 3 but got tired of it after a while. Don't seem to be improving much.. Went to Youthpark to watch Vicky's band, Karma Tree. Their music sounds like Alternative/Punk. They played a few covers at first after which Vicky went up to sing their original songs. She has a sweet voice §^^ Don't know if she was controlling it or it was her natural voice. Seems that she didn't know either. Went to Yoshinoya to eat dinner.. and went back to Heeran to play some more games. Saw no one playing and tried a round of Initial D. Failed miserably. Got Ed to help me watch my gear meter for the next round. Seems like I got a problem keeping my eye on the road as well as the meter.. Sakuya and Ed advised me not to take up driving §-______- Ok, so what else is new?
