Headed down to Ang Mo Kio mrt station to meet Ah Long, Ed and Alfe (who was a little late). All of us went to Ah Long's place to watch some concert dvds. We started off by watching Siam Shade V6 Otokogi. Ahh.. watching them play brings back old memories and feelings.. both Ed and me felt like jamming their songs again §T__T Ivan joined us a while later.. after which Ah long brought out our old gig video for Alfe to watch.. old memories again.. (old cockster memories XD) Watched Sex Machineguns SM Show dvd after that.. was damn solid. In between the concerts, Alfe was going in and out of Ah long's room to play abit of the drums.. he left for a recording session about 1/2 way into the Sex Machineguns concert. We went to Ah long's room and played abit on the computer.. downloaded some game trailers and combo vids too. Had dinner at the coffee shop below Ah long's house and left for home after talking abit of rubbish. Discussed about getting a keyboard with Ed.. a good one would cost at least 2 or 3k.. have to work like hell to get one.. See how things go first.. §-___-

Asian Beat Heats

Met Lydia at around 12.45 (was a little late but would have been alot later if I had taken the bus) and went to Cineleisure to walk around abit. Decided to eat at the Food Court for lunch.. got some Mee Hoon Kuay for the both of us.. and got extra chilli for her. Honestly, this is the first time I have seen someone eat so much chilli (and not turn red like a tomato) in my life. Walked over to Heeran to meet Zhiwei and Jonathan.. Jon came a little late and went in to play a game of Winning 11. Zhiwei came a while later and we waited for Jon to finish his game before heading to Youth Park. Saw Rally and his band.. Jon and Zhiwei went over to talk to him. We picked out a spot to sit down near the judging area which was in the shade.. the first band that we saw was called Liquid Metal. Seems that they were all 15.. interesting. When we heard that they were gonna do a cover song, I never expected that they were gonna do Iron Maiden's The Trooper. Sounded impressive.. however what followed was quite a big disappointment. The music started out fine.. just that when the vocal started to sing.. it was all wrong (hell, he wasn't even singing.. he sounded more like 1/2 talking and 1/4 singing). The guitar solo was not bad.. they had improvised it quite abit.. but then again the vocals really messed up the song. The next band was this band called Dream Factory. Sang a song about friends.. a happy happy positive lyrics kind of song.. nothing wrong with that.. just that 1/2 way the whole bunch of people in front of us, stood up and started to wave and dance and turn around. Nothing wrong with that too.. just that almost ANYONE could see that this was planned.. or in malay, they had 'pakat' among each other.. Looked quite fake because only that bunch in front of us were doing such things, no one else. Anyway after Dream Factory had finished.. they left with the band.. leaving is more view of the stage. Ivan came down 1/2 way to join us. Can't remember the next few bands.. they did not make much of an impression.. except one of them that combined rap and metal.. sounds wierd.. Jon said that it sucked.. then again, that's his opinion. Saw Rally's band play.. not band.. their original song had a little bit of Siam Shade feel.. their guitarist is quite good.. both in technique and showmanship.. their vocals.. oookay lah.. maybe to me lacked a leeetle bit of power when he went high.. but I have to commend them for composing a song just a few weeks before the gig and pulling it off. Went to Heeran to meet the Cocksters after Rally's band had finished. Wenjie, Luna, Iris, Ah Long, Ed, Akane and Yc. Chatted for a while before going to Cine to eat. Ate at LJ.. and chatted about army stuff (as usual) over dinner. Jiaxiong and Ah Xiu joined us in between. Went back to see more of the Asian Beat after dinner.. was getting a little bit bored until this band came up on stage.. didn't catch the name.. but they looked like they were old school rockers. My assumptions were increased when I heard the guitar tone of the guitarist when he was testing it.. and was finally confirmed when I heard that they were going to play The Evil That Men Do by Iron Maiden. Boy, it was one hell of a song.. they pulled it off fairly well.. although it seemed that the drummer was not very consistant and that the vocals went slightly out of tune sometimes but it was all good. Their guitar solo was more or less the same as the original song with a slight improvisation at the end. Enjoyed it, nonetheless. After them, we saw this indonesian rock band which was quite good.. they managed to create a song that had rock elements as well as a mixture of some traditional indonesian beats. Quite interesting to say the least.. We left after that.. the guys went to Heeran while Wenjie, Lydia and me went over to Gramaphone, a cd shop that has some reasonably priced stuff. After checking out the cds, we went back to Graffiti Cafe to do our usual thing. TALK COCK XD Talked until 11+ and left the place about 11.20 or so. Quite an interesting day.. I think i'll go see the semi-finals of the Asian Beat on the 2nd of Nov at Plaza Singapura.

I know its been a fucking long time since I last posted.. but really, its been so boring these few days that there's practically nothing to blog about (plus the occasional bouts of forgetting to blog §-___- ). Watched Pirates of the Carribean with Ah Long, Iris, Lydia, Yc, Ivan and Akane last week. The headache that I was having didn't allow me to fully enjoy the show but it was a good show nonetheless. Got sick recently.. high fever, throat infection, stomach discomfort.. Doc suspected that I had SARS coz my temperature was 38.7 (the record was 39.1) §-____- Thank goodness its gone.. it feels damn sickening to be sick (pun not intended). The heats for the Asian Beat competition is taking place tomorrow.. think I'll drop by and watch for a while..

The Duck's House

Went to torn at Kuek's house. Basically did nothing at all except watch Qiaoling draw, watched some 'live jamming' between Jonathan, Kuek and Zhiwei and chatted with some of the other guys on irc. They suggested going for supper at 3+ but ended up going at 4+ a.m Went to a coffee shop near Yishun 10 and ate some Wan Tan Mee.. walked back through the park. The rest of the guys were trying to play on the monkey bars and parallel bars but I just sat down on a bench and watched coz I was too damn full to do anything else. Went back and hung around there for an hour or so.. then went back home to sleep at around 5+. Woke up the next morning at 11 something and went online. Surprised to find Jonathan and Zhiwei awake. Kuek was sleeping and Qiaoling and Ah Wei had gone back home. Went up to Kuek's house after getting some breakfast. Invited them to have lunch at my place.. rice and chicken curry. After eating we left for town. Zhiwei went back home to get some money, so it was just Kuek, Jonathan and me. Went to meet the rest of them at graffiti cafe then went over to Cine to eat dinner. We did the usual rounds around Taka and rotted for a while. Nothing much today.. I'm still damn tired after torning.

Lillian's Birthday Celebration

Went to meet the rest at Clementi mrt station.. brought along Lydia as well. AS USUAL THEY WERE BLOODY LATE. Most of them anyway. Saw that Ah long, Rimei, Qiaoling, Lillian and Chloe were there on time. Chatted with them a bit. Most of them came around 20 mins later.. Ed, Tabe, Ivan, Akane, Wenjie, Luna, Yc, Pinku. Waited for everyone to come and then went to the bus stop opposite the mrt.. where Lillian's dad would 'ferry' us to her house by car. Had to wait for Sakuya so we told some of them to go 1st (since there was not enough space in the car for everyone). Sakuya came shortly after they had left. Lillian's dad came back in abt 5 mins and drove the rest of us to the house. Her house was a little small but quite cozy. The whole hall was occupied by us.. they were watching some Ayumi dvd.. Voyage, if i'm not mistaken. Kiru's mom announced that the food was ready.. Ed and me made a break for it XD Took some chicken wings and some noodles.. Ivan commented that in a particular scene, Ayumi looked like a Cenobite.. much to the amusement of Tabe and myself XD Doorbell rang.. It was Jonathan along with Zhiwei, Kuek, Ah Wei and Mayu[guy]. Apparently they had gotten a bit lost following Jonathan XD The dvd was changed to Dir en grey's 5 Ugly Kingdom. Not very entertaining but just watched anyway.. while going for seconds and thirds on the chicken wings XD Someone found a box of Pictionary and decided that we (the guys) should play it. So it was Yc, Cedric, Sakuya, Ah Wei and Me against Edmund, Wenjie, Ah Long, Ivan and Jonathan. We decided to make it interesting by letting the players act as well as draw. Mayu was the judge and timekeeper. Although Ed's team was leading, we soon caught up and won the game :Þ Watched Waterboy for a while.. quite a funny show. Cut the cake after the show and had some to eat =P~ Ate abit more satay.. Was getting late, so we decided to split. Thanked Lillian's family for everything and left. Food was power.. Ed, Tabe and myself were having a hell of a time eating all the food and tidbits XÞ All of us walked back to the mrt station and went our seperate ways. Back at home now, later torning at Kuek's house with Qiaoling, Ah Wei, Jonathan, Zhiwei and Ivan. Hor hor..

The Crazy Elephant

Went out in the evening to meet Wenjie at Plaza Singapura. The rest had gope to watch The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, so it was just me and him. Went to grab some dinner at the Food Court before heading into Music Plaza. Beez was there and played some tunes for us.. recognized a few.. Holy Diver, Man on the Silver Mountain and his favourite, Black Nights. I played around with the keyboard abit.. until one of the staff informed us that they were about to close. We said goodbye to Beez and left to find the others. Next stop, The Crazy Elephant. It was my first time to the place and I was quite excited to see Wenjie's favourite guitarist, John Chee, play. Ivan, Akane, Faith and Zhiwei left for home so it was just Alfe, Jonathan, Emerson, Sakuya, YC, Wenjie, Iris and myself. We alighted at Clarke Quay mrt station and walked there. When we got there it was a little empty and the band hadn't started playing yet. Wenjie ordered a Corona and Sakuya got a Tiger.. I just sat there and looked around. It looked like a pub built into a wooden cabin.. the walls were scribbled with grafitti.. and there was a television set that would display dirty jokes, the kind that you would see in forwarded e-mails.

After a while the band came and started to set up their stuff. Wenjie commented that John Chee resembled Jonathan a little. I guess he must have overheard Wenjie coz he was smiling to himself a bit. In my opinion though.. John Chee looked like Jonathan with a little bit of Kitamura Ken's features. Then the band started to play. Halfway through the first song, i was very impressed. No flaws, 101% feeling and playing. Its different when you see this kind of thing on pictures and tv compared to the real thing. They were literally playing from their very souls.. every ebb of it. After a while the stage was open for free jamming. A few guys came up to jam.. and one hell of a jam it was. Halfway during one of the jams, an indian guy came out of nowhere, went up to the mike and played his harmonica. I guess this was what Wenjie meant when people come out of nowhere and just play. Another guy took over the vocals for the next song and he was also playing the harmonica. What can I say? It was fucking great, like every other performance. Didn't get to see John Chee play alot though. One thing about their playing.. you can feel the music that they played, not just hear it. I looked over to the other table and was a little surprised to see Iris having the time of her life. We left around 11.30.. Iris said she would try to go there every Sunday §~.^ Took 851 home.. had a great day.. and now I have 12 bar blues stuck in my head XD

Natsu Matsuri

Went to school in the morning for some karaoke thingy organized by Jaeson. The mic wasn't working so we kinda sang along together (altho it was quite soft). Got to know a few girls who just joined JMD (Japanese Music and Dance). Also got to know a guy that looks and speaks abit like Kuek. Don't know what his real name is but they call him Yamashita. Accompanied them for lunch after they finished their dance practice for Natsu Matsuri. Left after a while to meet Sakuya and Wenjie.

Reached City Hall mrt station 15 mins early. That's a surprise.. for someone who's usually late. Anyway, met Wenjie about 10 mins later.. chatted about Guns N' Roses stuff. Sakuya came and we went to Davis first and waited for Wenjie to get his guitar strings. Went to 7-11 to get some tidbits and hung around there for a short while. Left to meet the others at Tanah Merah. Saw Tabe, Zhiwei, Emerson, YC, Jonathan, Ah Long, Iris, Rimei, Noshuu tu di and Qiaoling. Went with Jon and Wenjie to the open area, sat there and talked with them a bit as they smoked. Saw Ah Wei with his scandal.. hor hor hor. After a while, the rest came out from the mrt station and we all boarded the bus to the japanese school.

Wasted Years

HUAARGH!! Finally.. Final Year Project is officially OVER. Now I can resume blogging and reading blogs. It's been a hectic three months but i'm glad that its over. No more supervisor chasing after my work, no more boring days in the lab and no more days of blinking in front of the computer and cracking my head for doing animations. I'll miss my project mates though.. most of them are going for attachment. I'm still lagging behind.. hope I can clear this marketing module and then go on to my attachment A.S.A.P. Wasting time..

Cockster Birthday Celebration: Zhiwei & Yc

School was boring until project mates asked me along to play badminton with them. Didn't play at all but I just accompanied them to the sports hall. Went back just in time to sign out and go home. Ate lunch at home and left to meet the rest at Raffles Place mrt station.

Managed to get a seat in the train.. when I noticed that someone sitting opposite me was wearing a Bruce Lee t-shirt. When I looked at him, I realised that it was Wu, one of my black belt seniors who I had trained under during my karate days. We talked a bit throughout the train ride.. with occasional pauses of uncertainty. He got off at City Hall. I got off at Raffles Place.. only to find out that at 4 pm the only ones who were there Yc and myself. The rest were late as usual.

Hmm.. roll call.. Kuek, Ivan, Akane, Zhiwei, Ernest, Ah Long, Yc, Tabe, Wendi, Jonathan, Chloe, Qiaoling. Went to Lau Pa Sat to eat.. we shared some satay and clams as appetizers and later on went to order our own stuff for main course. Ana joined us midway. After having our dinner we went back to the mrt station to pick Iris and Luna up. Something to note. Kuek and Zhiwei kept doing their slapping antic. Both of them would pretend to bump into each other.. Zhiwei would then bow and say sorry with his hand next to his right cheek.. and then Kuek would slap the palm of his hand. However from a different angle it would look like Kuek was really slapping Zhiwei. They kept doing this in front of different people.. just to see their reactions. Quite amusing actually.. §^^;;;

Went to walk arnd the Singapore River. Sat at one of the spots in front of some museum of sorts. After a while they decided to play Truth or Dare.. so they all sat in a circle.. while I sat some distance off and listened to the GGX OST. After a while.. it suddenly hit me.. I took out a pencil and some paper and started to pen down some lyrics. I don't know why but I was feeling very exhausted and I had to get a drink.. went with Jon to 7-11. Showed the lyrics to him while we were walking to the shops. He said it was not too bad (§^^/) and that the only thing left to do was to find the right melody to fit with the words.. which is also one of the hardest parts in composing songs.

Overall it was not too bad a night.. except for the Truth or Dare bit which was quite a waste of time. Then again.. without it, I would probably have not penned down that set of lyrics.. so I don't regret not playing it with them.

SM Show

School was.. not so boring for once. That's because today was the first day of Club Crawl.. got to see Jojo Akane as hide (seth image), Yan Han as Sugizo (duno which image.. alot of black), Sakana as Jam (from GGXX) and Lester as Nanahara (from Battle Royale). Helped them take a shot when they went on stage.

Was supposed to meet Ah Long at 5.45 at Ang Mo Kio interchange.. when it started to rain at 5.20 §-____- Hung arnd in school for a while and then decided to walk in the rain instead of waiting and turning up late. Got fairly drenched in the rain although it was not heavy. Waited for Ah Long to come down.. waited a long while.. called him and found out that he'll be late. WTF?! Should have waited in school a while longer. This was confirmed when 10 mins after I reached the interchange.. it stopped raining. Double WTF?! Cursed quite a bit when Ah Long came down. Seems like he got held up in camp. Went around Ang Mo Kio for a while.. Ah Long brought me to this stall where they were selling CDs.. and i saw at least 3 Loudness albums §O____O I'm getting those CDs when I get enough money *rubs hands in glee*

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

Nothing much happened in school.. Went out with the cockster bunch to catch Terminator 3. Tabe, Ed, Ah Long, Iris, Luna, Ivan and Akane (apparently we had forgotten Sakuya §^^;;;;) Overall I find the movie quite interesting. Although some people might think that it is a lousy show, I would say that I appreciated and enjoyed watching it. I guess some people can't appreciate movies with indefinite/uncertain endings... it keeps the audience guessing about the ending. Anyway.. the movie has reinforced my views on Fate and Destiny. Put it simply, i believe that Fate can be changed while Destiny is inevitable. Not a bad day.. although abit heavy on the spending. Guess i'll have to be on budget tomorrow when i go out.

Cosfest 2003

Woke up early and expected Ah Long to call. Waited till 10 and guessed that he wasn't going to call after all. Idiot.

Went to meet them at Pasir Ris mrt station. Saw only Sakuya, Tabe and Ed. Went with them to downtown east. Saw Rox in her Rikimaru costume.. with Audrey cosplaying Ayame and Joseph cosplaying Tesshu. Took a photo with them §^^ Went in and saw lots of cosplayers. Didn't recognise alot of them.. except the Guilty Gear team which stood out quite abit. Noticed that there were around 5 or so Yuna cosplayers. Hmm.. FFX-2 seems to be the rage among the girls I guess. Anyway saw alot of friends there too.. Eiji, JoJo Akane, Takahan, Noshuu (cosplaying mana), Scube in a school girl outfit (cosplaying one of the Fruits Basket charecters), Rimei and |zer0| (who made it safely back from Korea.. got to hug her.. heehee XD). Just to mention who else came along.. Akane (cosplaying.. erm.. duno which Deg member §^^;;), Ivan (Kyo as usual, i think it was the Osaka Jo Hall image or something), Jonathan, Zhenliang, Kuek, Emerson, Zhiwei, Yc, Ah Long (wearing number 4 uniform together with Ed, lol), Wendi, Anna, Iris and Luna. Ed commented that the May and Jam cosplayers were the better of the whole Guilty Gear lot. Quite agree with him.. Wendi has agreed to be my Guilty Gear XX team's I-No. Not bad leh.. first got Iris, now got Wendi.. hor hor.

Rock in Rio

Went to school earlier in the day. Today all the lecturers were off so we were quite 'havoc'. We played NetBig2 (daidee) online in the project room, walked arnd, went into people's lab and disturbed them, etc. Left school and went home to eat lunch. Getting more and more broke so had to eat lunch at home.

Went out with the rest as usual. Stayed out till 10 or so. Ah Long bought Iron Maiden's Rock in Rio dvd. He invited me to go to his house tomorrow to watch.. muahahha... XD

Independance Day

Went out with the cokster gang last week. Ed, Jiaxiong, Ah Long and the rest were there... almost full strength. Just like the good ol' times..

Unable to blog for the past few weeks coz i got bogged down by school work. I _did_ blog last week tho but then my D drive decided to crash on me AGAIN (which is why the entry is not here.. i've forgotten most of it to blog it down again) so I am now left with nothing but a few measly mp3s from my once glorious collection. (hell.. even a metal server said my least was cool) Now i'm contemplating on reformatting my com and starting from scratch... but there's a few more stuff that I have to save first. Don't expect me to post much during the next few weeks.. god damn FYP is taking all the energy out of me. I will, however, try my best to update the rest of the blog areas.. when (or more likely, if) I have the time. Ehime no Mikan.. signing off.
