Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.
It’s getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn’t matter much to me.
Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.

No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low.
That is you can’t you know tune in but it’s all right, that is I think it’s not too bad.
Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.

Always, no sometimes, think it’s me, but you know I know when it’s a dream.
I think I know I mean a ’yes’ but it’s all wrong, that is I think I disagree.
Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.
Strawberry fields forever.

PLEASE!
Seeing as EVERYONE who has promised to make me a layout has bailed on me, I have crappily changed the background and font colour. Deal with it. And I have another concern... See, I don't use Explorer...I use Safari, the Mac browser, simply because it's faster and less annoying than my Explorer (and you can have different tabs too!!), and when I check it on Explorer, it looks far more crappy than on Safari. I like having my blog look nice on my computer, so deal with that too. SOMEONE MAKE ME A LAYOUT!!! PLEASE!! A simple one!! And at the moment I like the song Strawberry Fields! So incorporate that!! PLEASE!!! Sob...

Weekend of pwnage.
Wow, this weekend was great like whoa! Let's recap...
Friday: Semi! 'Twas a superdeeduper fun night. School was fun because no one was there...people left because somehow three hours isn't enough to look decent. Ah well...I like school, so I stayed. =) Then I got home, showered quickly, and went to get my hair done. It ended up a mass of curls...perhaps a little too curly, but hey, whatever, I really didn't care. Then I got home, and got dressed, and found out my camera was out of batteries, and went to Nicole's house so Addie might make-up me. Then we finallllllllly arrived, all prettied up. The night was great...even though I had two bites of chicken on a Friday during Lent. =( The rest of the food was good, though! I pretty much danced the night away with Spencer, because he's just so cool. Trip is pretty cool, too...funny guy. We took pictures, which can be found at a multitude of websites, laughed at stupid stuff, lost our hearing. Fun fun fun! I'm aware that that was a crappy summary of the night, but I under pressure to complete this thing. =P
Saturday: SaturDAY was pretty yucky. I cleaned my room all day and tried to do stuff with the old computer, which didn't work. I put up my Procrastinator's Creed poster, which probably took the longest. I never realized how much stuff I have on my walls! I've got: well...a lot. And now one more. Thank you! Saturday night was lotsa fun!! So much fun! Went to go see 50 First Dates with...ugh...some SICKO =) and then had bubble tea! The movie was good, kind of un-Adam-Sandler-y, but still realllllly good. And bubble tea just can't be bad. =) Then I went to sleep.
Sunday: Went to go see the ballet Sleeping Beauty with my mother and then went to eat at Movenpick. Just add the two dots on top of the O in your mind. The ballet was really pretty, and I'm jealous that I can't dance that well. The male dancers had tights on that left nothing to the imagination. Like...NOTHING. They may as well just been dancing naked. Same thing! And then we came home...I talked to me faither on the phone, started homework, talked to people...and that brings us to now.
This weekend I realized that my mom and I are like super Gilmore-Girl-y sometimes. On Saturday night, I got home at about one, and I sat on my mom's bed until two-thirty while we talked about NOTHING. I think our last topic of conversation was: If Cinderella's step-mother's and step-sisters' last name was Tremaine (which it was), how exactly does that work? I mean, did the step-mother go back to her first husband's name when Cinderella's father died? Or did the step-sisters take Cinderella's father's name, making Cinderella's last name Tremaine too? And on the way home today from the ballet, we were blaring The Beatles and head-banging at the same time to "Come Together". We're scary. =)
Anyways, I'd say that's a sufficiently happy entry. I'll leave it there...

... . . . . .
I know I don't blog very often. Not very often at all. But the truth is, I'm bored. I'm bored. Nothing happens in my life. I know I sound angsty and stereotypical and like a complainer and a whiner, and that Sally always gets annoyed when I talk about this (because I "don't do anythng to make stuff happen"), but...it's the way I'm feeling. Don't get me wrong, my life is anything but bad, I'm just bored. Maybe I'm just being a baby...
I did have a rocking birthday, though. Thank you everyone!!

Why do I blog...?
Man. I watch a lot of movies on weekends. Usually with my mother. This weekend, I went to go see Big Fish with my mom. 'Twas good, but mother always ruins movies!! It's just a little quirk, and somehow I manage to love her anyway, but still! Annoying!! And we saw One Hour Photo. That was pretty good, except for one scene: Robin Williams is dreaming...he's standing there and the camera zooms in one his face....his eyes are closed...he opens them...the whites are completely red....a tear drop of blood runs down his face...and BOOM!!!!! Suddenly you see him covering his eyes and screaming with blood gushing between his fingers!! Gushgushgush!! And it's over as suddenly as it starts. And that scene will haunt me forever!! ACK!! Anyways...the next movie was O Brother, Where Art Thou?. That was pretty good for a movie about convicts in the old south with a lot of bad country music that's supposed to be modelled after The Odyssey by Homer. To counteract the blood/eye/ew/omg/ew scene, it was kinda funny.
And on to normal topics. Exams are coming up!! OMG!! Like, whoa!! I'm so not ready!!! NOT AT ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!! I've NEVER known what the heck was going on in Calc, and I don't know any Bhuddism because Borsellino is eeeeeeevil!! WHY?! WHY?!?!?!?!?!? I need to osmosis the information IN! INNNN!! Not out, IN! *sob*
Alright. I'm okay now. Okay. ...Not okay!! ACK!! *hyperventilates*

Books are my escape..
This afternoon, I came home from school and just read. I can't remember the last time I did that. And it was great.
I get lost in books. My surroundings disappear, replaced by an ever-changing environment that becomes my reality. I read of rain and the sound of a truck rumbling by becomes my thunder. I read of winter and I shiver. Interrupted by a ringing phone, it takes a few moments of wondering why I look up to my living room and not to a quaint Alabama street. I read over phrases to make sure I haven't missed a single word, a single thread in the world being woven around me. Books are my escape.

Reading also makes me feel like writing. =)

Merry Christmas!!
Many a-day lately has been spent carolling. Well, two. Two two-hour periods. Spread out over two days. Right.
Sunday night, Jessica, Graham, Chris, Leah, Tiffany, Jon, Spencer, Danielle, Laura S, Sally, and I went carolling around BA for the Canadian Cancer Society. 'Twas fun! We let two dogs run loose, and we actually tried So This Is Christmas by John Lennon. I think we butchered it, but hey, we tried. We made 3.36 for little Billy and other cancer patients! YAY!
Then Monday night, last night, I went carolling with Ivan, Francis, Erin, Kenneth, and Mona. That too was fun! We went out to dinner afterwards and were served by Nick's sister, which made for a lot of conversation. Fun fun fun!!!
Just..outta nowhere...I just took a quiz..and I am THIS happy bunny:

you suck, and that's sad
you are the "you suck, and that's sad"
happy bunny. your truthful, but can be a bit
brutal.

which happy bunny are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

YAY!!!!
And I think you should listen to Some Girls (Dance With Women) by JC Chasez. =)

Saturday, December 20, 2003-05:18 p.m.
GOOD times.
The past three days have been some of the best ever. And I mean, EVER! Shall I recount the events backwards, à la Seinfeld? ...I'd probably mess that up. Fowards it is!
Wednesday, December 17th: First, in Religion, we watched Finding Nemo due to Little Prince Day. That should have been a surefire warning of a good day to come, but at the time, I thought nothing of it. Then, during second period, Dani and I went to go help collect Christmas Baskets for Luke. Suprisingly, Greto:[ let us go! w00t! But since the collections had been going on since first period, we were done in just about fifeen minutes. Now, rather than going back to Calculus like good little girls, we decided to go to the Council Room to study for our Chemistry test that day. So we take out our books and are talking about polymers, and someone says "Homework, eh?". We look up. We see Mike. MIKE! We talk to him for just about forty-five minutes, though Danielle is somwhat silent...and it just rocked!!! Definitely a highlight of the day. Nextly, we had the Chemistry test. That was the low-point of the day, seeing as I had been talking to Mike instead of studying like I was supposed to. I don't think I did TOO badly, though...I still got to see Mona from the door! I don't think she saw me, though. THEN, when we went to French, there seemed to be a small crowd of my friends around one person....Ivan! Yay!! Ivan! He spent all of French class with us! Ohmigawsh, it was great. Definitely another highlight. =) Then I went shopping after school with some cool people like Spencer and Chris and Jessica and Erica and Sally and Dani. Didn't get much done, but I saw Erin! And so ended Wednesday.
Thursday, December 18th:In Religion, we watched the beginning of Pirates of the Carribean, another signal of a good day. Really good movie...unfortunately, afterwards, we had to suffer through Calculus and Greto:[. I hate that man. Strong words. Strong feelings. But! At lunch, I went to the library to print something out, and Ivan came to see me! He came to see me in the library! A highlight, once more. =) And he'd come with Francis. So I went to go find Erica so that we could both go find Francis. I couldn't find her, but I found Virginia's really good brithday cake and Francis and Ivan! Francis is so cool! I love me graduates! Then I went to French and the fun ended there. We had the easiest test imaginable and then I went to dance, where we had a "journey" class. That was interesting. It was all..."Breathe in the positive energy...and breathe out the negative energy..." and I realized that I am so incapable of that stuff. Like, I couldn't decide on a "peaceful place" and, when she said to imagine that we were layng on a beach and that the water carries us out into the ocean, I just started freaking out due to my hatred of the ocean and fear of sinking and drowning. But we Secret Santa-ed and I got a pretty gift from Kelita. =) Then I went home and went to sleep.
Friday, December 19th: Ah yes, the last day before Christmas Break. The day where rebels fill the malls, and nerds fill the classrooms. And I, I am one of those nerds. Regardless, it was a pretty good day! Religion, we watched most of the rest of Pirates of the Carribean and we went to Blue Sky during second (because wild horses couldn't drag me to Calculus), which was fun. Then we went to Chemistry. Là, we took many a-picture...many a-picture....and listened to VanGinneken's stories of his scarred childhood. Then in French, we were six people: Ellen, Andrea, Aky, Dani, Joan, and I. Then Ellen left and Joan, Dani, and I went to the teacher workroom to bother Mme. Issawi. THAT was fun, but I left my jingle bell in the room. =( Apparenly, Robyn was at school, but we didn't see her! And then I went home. At like 7:30, I went to Sallie's house to hotpot! Hotpot was interesting...I think I like other stuff that I've had at her house better, but it wasn't too bad. The whole raw egg thing freaked me out a bit, though. Anyways, we watched A Very Merry Muppet Christmas, which is, by far, my favourite Muppet movie ever. Then I called mommy, who told me an interesting story: Someone called my house, and she thought that it was me, so she answered with a very silly "Ho ho ho! Merrry Christmas!!". But no! It wasn't me. It was Ivan. Let's think about the pros and cons of the situation, shall we?
Pros: Ivan called me, and Ivan's just too cool.
Cons: Ivan called me and I wasn't there; he's probably awfully scared of my mother.
So yeah...that's just great. The cons outweigh the pros. Just peachy. ANYways, I started feeling sick at Sally's and the feeling continued all night and into this morning. That was the low point of the day.

This brings us to today. Today, I went to the doctor and got my flu shot. Then, my mommy proceeded to whack me in the arm right where I got the needle at least three times today. Thanks, Mom. Thanks. =) Then we went to Giant Tiger, where I saw Matthew Sartor! Like, whoa! Been so long, man! I didn't say anything to him, though...Other stuff that's been going on...went to the Luke social a week ago...Darren had an emergency appendectomy...and...uh...yeah! That's about it!! Merry Christmas!

Friday, December 12, 2003-05:51 p.m.
The AGO!
Wow...today was the greatest field trip ever! We went to the Art Gallery of Ontario with our French class. Mme. Issawi was cute as always, and Mlle. Spagnolo came with us too! Don't exactly know why...but she told us that she has a beige bathroom. And, ya know, that's all that matters. That we know what colour her bathroom is. Right.
So we first went to Religion, but left real early ("Why are we leaving now? We still have lots of time before we have to leave class!" -Liane. Well...I'm paraphrasing, but yeah. I mean, everyone knows I'm a nerd, but I'm not that nerdy.) so we could go sit in the caf for twenty minutes or so. I bought a bottle of water that so obviously did not fit in my purse, but hey, whatever. Then we got on the bus and Jessica, Dani, and I talked about weird names the entire time. Then! We got there and we had about forty minutes to do anything, so almost the entire class went to Second Cup for some caffeine. I just got hot apple cider though, which lacked cinnamon, but was good anyway. Then, since there was no room in the store, we sat outside on a stoop. A city stoop. How picturesque. There, we made up life stories for those that passed by us. Quite an enjoyable pasttime. i think some people stared at us, but I'm used to it. =P
Which brings us to the time we were expected at the gallery. So we went there. On the way, we saw posters! City posters!!! One advertised a showing of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon to The Wizard of Oz, another advertised a showing of thirteen uncensored Warner Bros. cartoons, another advertised a showing of banned Salvador Dali movies, and yet another advertised a documentary on Hitler! Like, whoa!
Then we actually got into the gallery. I realized that I ws sickeningly in uniform. Apparently, I was the only one that listened to the teacher telling us that the day would not be civies. Whatevah. The Degas exhibit was really cool! So many dancers! And horses (which I didn't really like..) and bathing women! Just a question here...if you owned an extremely nice sculpture of a woman in a bath, where would you put it? I personally vote for somewhere where people would see it, but Issawi and Spagnolo voted for in the bathroom. In the bathroom!! How often does one go in their bathroom for periods long enough to actually appreciate the sculpture?! And how often do one's guests go into their host's bathroom for periods long enough to appreciate the sculpture?! Not all that often! Anyways, that sculpture was nice. As was the Little Dancer there...and Dancer Looking at the Sole of Her Right Foot or something like that. Very pretty.
Holy moly, Jessica was going out of her mind with all that arty stuff around her! 'Twas so funny! She even initiated a reading of the French plaques out loud. And there was another school there with the most annoying teacher ever! Like...she rivaled most of our supply teachers. 'Twas crazy. Finally she dragged us out of the Degas stuff, at which point we dragged her into the gift shop. I bought a print for my mommie, and so did Jessica, and Dani bought a poster of Dali's Les Montres Molles or something like that...the one with the melting watches.
Then we went to go eat lunch. We were like whoa in Chinatown, so Jessica and I were feeling for authentic, look-at-the-cockroaches-in-the-store Chinese food, but on the way, we were side-tracked by these really pretty city houses, Laura's first Toronto moose, and Chinese dollar stores!! Dani ended up taking a lot of pictures, and Jessica and I bought Chinese parasols for fi-dollah! We finally found a Chinese bakery, where we bough cha siu bau and the like. I...liked mine, but I couldn't actually think about what I was eating as I ate it. Like, the chicken just looked gross. Truly gross. I left a little bit, because somehow, that made me feel better and not think about the fact that I'd just eaten nine-tenths of the thing, and that that one-tenth I left was going to make the difference between my getting sick or not. We ate on the bus!
Then we got back to school and the day continued as normal. We went home. I talked to Mary Eleven, who got a chihuahua! Er...is a chihuahua's auntie! Yeah! So cute! And I talked to Bex and JoJo and....that's about it. And that was my day!!! Now I'm gonna go to the mall avec ma maman, and then I'mma go to Sally's for a little bit...and then I'm going to sleep for a very long time!!

Thursday, December 11, 2003-11:18 p.m.
I have become...
Nocturnal. Like...seriously. I have so not been sleeping! It's some crazie stuff! At the earliest, midnight, every night. How insane is that?! For me, at least. I remember in grade eight, people would call me at 9:00, and I'd be in bed. Good ol' Sleep-Early Laura. That was my name. Yup. Anyways, other than the tiredness, this whole sleeping-late-thing has caused a lot of hysterical laughter and almost drunken homework completion. It's absolutely great! =) Sigh..anyways.
Today, Dani, AY, Mich, Joan, and I went to the mall. I chose a present for someone! Yay!! AY helped me....and I realized that he's actually a funny guy. I enjoyed my time with him. *shudder* But it's true!
But the best part of the afternoon was the yearbook meeting that we went to beforehand. Benton, the crazy/funn/strange guy on yearbook was so entertaining!! We spent like an hour talking about Passions before he rushed home to go watch it. He has these crazy opinions...like Beth should be with Luis...and Charlie and Alister are the same person. This last one blew me away. Like, dude! They're different sexes! And...one's old! And..one's a lesbian!! And..one's Sheridan's father! So I came home and told Mary Eleven about it and here we go:
L a u r a says: (9:34:34 PM)
he is a full supporter of Beth and Luis
L a u r a says: (9:34:38 PM)
   AND!
~ME~ |97 skool days left| says: (9:34:40 PM)
   EW
L a u r a says: (9:34:49 PM)
he thinks that Charlie and Alister...
L a u r a says: (9:34:53 PM)
   are the same person.
~ME~ |97 skool days left| says: (9:35:14 PM)
   they are!

Gah!! They are!! Are you aware of how much we've missed?! it's crazy!! What with Little Ethan having six birthdays in a single year and all..I mean, he's almost at puberty. He was born like...six months ago. That show is messed.
Anyways, speaking of Luis...long story short, I and others get TWO free posters from the guy himself and an emaiiiiiiil. Like, whoa!.
I just realized how teen-age-y-soap-opera-y-fan-y i I sound in this entry. AGO tomorrow! Yay! Oh! And...

You are NEMO!

Can you say homework?
Wow. Homework is just pouring out of these teachers! Insane, man. I don't even know why I try.

Monday, December 8, 2003-04:04 p.m.
a;sm,.fasd.
if only i could breathe what you breathe...if only i could see what you see...
Mleh. I am so tired. Sleep-deprived. So much. I even skipped Luke. Luke. Luke is my weekly dose of happiness. And I skipped it. I probably missed the yearbook picture too. Sigh.

Friday, December 5, 2003-04:35 p.m.
99 Luftballons...
Alrighty, so guess what? That German pop song "99 Luftballons" has a political message!! Like, whoa! How weird is that?! And it's applicable to today!! Holy moly!! So I'm thoroughly weirded out by that...The English translation is as follows:

You and I in a little toy shop
Buy a bag of balloons with the money we’ve got
Set them free at the break of dawn
Til one by one, they were gone
Back at base bugs in the software
Flash the message, something’s out there
Floating in the summer sky
99 red balloons go by.
99 red balloons
Floating in the summer sky
Panic Bells it’s red alert
There’s something here from somewhere else
The war machine springs to life
Opens up one eager eye
Focusing it on the sky
Where 99 red balloons go by.
99 Decision street
99 ministers meet
To worry, worry, super scurry
Call the troops out in a hurry
This is what we’ve waited for
This is it boys, this is war
The president is on the line
As 99 red balloons go by.
99 knights of the air
Ride super high tech jet fighters
Everyone’s a super hero
Everyone’s a Captain Kirk
With orders to identify
To clarify, and classify
Scramble in the summer sky
99 red balloons go by.
99 dreams I have had
In every one a red balloon
It’s all over and I’m standing pretty
In this dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenir
Just to prove the world was here
And here is a red balloon
Just to prove the world was here
And here is a red balloon
I think of you, and let it go

Thursday, December 4, 2003-09:35 p.m.
Empty pockets...
I have no money. I have no money. No money! It's so sad...and I have lotsa presents to get people! I have to start making money. Somehow...actually I won ten dollars from a bet with my mom. ^_^ I'm so evil. >=)

Wednesday, December 3, 2003-08:16 p.m.
Shazam.
Check it out. Shazam. Red. Red like whoa. Jessica reminded me that I'm less than perfect in HTML so she told me I'm bad at it and kindly agreed to make me a layout. Be happy it has nothing to do with Barbie.
Perhaps I'm not that kind to my life. It serves me well. It's no cliffhanger. But it'll do.

Wednesday, December 3, 2003-04:31 p.m.
Meanie.
Jessica's a meanie. But a helpful and kind meanie. Thank you, mean Jessica!

Tuesday, December 2, 2003-10:32 p.m.
Well, bugger.
The blinking HTML won't work. Er...I can't make it work. Anybody got any suggestions as to how the table on the bottom right could be moved up? Yes? No? It'd be helpful, much. But, you must all applaud my trying. Because everyone knows I'm a lost cause.
Since I'm fixing up my blog, I may as well blog. So. Today I went to confession and forgot half my sins when I got to the priest. I think that that, in itself, is a sin. And then, when I got back to class, I swore. Well, the word I used was a minor profanity....(the opposite of Heaven)...but I got mad at myself nonetheless. And I proceeded to use the same word many times throughout the day, especially during the blinking titration in chemistry. Sucks to the titration.
=(

Tuesday, December 2, 2003-05:02 p.m.
Black. White. Blah.
Alright. So now my blog's black and white. And blah. Much like me these days. Somewhat depressed. Meh. Doesn't matter.

Thursday, November 20, 2003-04:16 p.m.
Hm.
Yeah..so I kinda think I should be entry-ing maybe a bit more regularly. But guess what? I haven't got a very interesting life.
Nothing's happened in the last few weeks. Almost dropped calc. Didn't drop calc. Had a grade ten like me (hee hee). Got him to stop liking me. Got a good report card. Yay. And that's it.

Saturday, October 4, 2003-03:48 p.m.
Sigh.
Well, it's been WAY too long....nothing has been happening. That's becuse I lead a darn boring life. Seriously. There's nothing to tell. Sigh.

Sunday, September 14, 2003-07:50 p.m.
Guess who's back...back again...
Well, I think it's all better now. My diary was somewhat screwy, but now it's all back to normal. YAY! I know you were all dying without hearing from me.
Anyways, I had a summer filled with the Rolling Stones, physics, Montreal, and New York. 'Nuff said.
I also watched one heck of a lot of movies, so since I'm terribly bored and have nothing left to say, I will review all that I have seen since June.

Two Weeks Notice - This movie lacks an apostrophe somewhere in the name. It also had absolutely no swearing or sex. How did they make any money? Semi-cute, though.
Vanilla Sky - You spend the entire movie thinking that you have to pay attention because all this confusion must habve one heck of an ending. Then the ending is horrible, and you want to kick yourself for wasting brain power on it.
The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys - Crazy movie! Really, very good. Kieran Culkin stars. *drool*
The Panic Room - Pretty good...nothing too amazing, but good.
Amélie - Absolutely the best movie ever! Ever! I loved it. So much. Ohmigawd. I loved it.
The Banger Sisters - *gag*
What A Girl Wants - So predictable. Holy moly. But funny to make fun of. Even Paula, who idolizes Amanda Bynes, said it was horrible.
Punch Drunk Love - Very artsy. Artsy to the max. But really, very good.
American Pie, American Pie 2 - Fourteen-year-old guy humour.
Notting Hill - An old favourite.
Moulin Rouge - I thought that it'd be all Moulin Rouge-y songs, but NO! The sang Nirvana, Elton John, Madonna....crazy stuff, la.
Igby Goes Down - Kieran Culkin. *drool* But other than that, not that great.
Adaptation - Artsy, too...but good. Strange, yes, but good.
Brigit Jones's Diary - I'm sorry, if you go back in to put your shoes on, you take the time to put your pants on too! It's common sense, man!

And that's all I can think of at the moment....ooo! Yesterday, Paula, Erica, Sally, Dani, and I were at Erica's house to watch movies and make smoothies. So then Sally was pouring the smoothie into a cup over the couch, when the lid came off and allowed it to spill all over Paula and the leather couch. Yay for Sallie! Anyways, good night.
