Current version features our well known seductive Professor Snape at a screencap from Chamber of Secrets, the second Harry Potter movie of the saga.

Not many are the moments when you can catch him semi off guard like this, and only makes you wonder how strong your impression must have to be to cause such British monument of refined taste to break his walls down.

Ms. Rae's character, Edward Hawthorne, suceeded into this extraordinary mission, in the humble vision of this blogging  girl. And that's why since that very first moment his eyes met his lover's, the parfum of the Hawthorn flowers followed Severus anywhere he'd go.

- Layout:

The flowers used as background of this composition are photographs of Hawthorn flowers. This beautiful and delicate blossom means 'Hope' in the flowers' language. They have a long history of use as a gentle and effective health promoting tonic. It is also well known as a strengthener of cardiac and circulatory system functions, and being a slow-acting herb, it may take four to eight weeks to show its effect on heart and circulation health.

Winamp making time! *chuckle* Yeah, I'm trying more and more on this winamp creating process, this time, editing the pictures more. Allowing myself to be a bit more free with the sizing and stuff. I've made these three for some of Ali's fanlistings: The Mia Tyler fanlisting (Bello), AAWF, the Mr. Winkle Fanlisting, and The Roost, the Dixie Chicks fanlisting. So she can offer something else to her fellow fans <3<3<3<3

This is he Mia Tyler one. PINNNNNKSSSSSSSSSSSSISHHH X_X But turned out pretty nice. My intention was to make a caleidoscope effect using the fabric of her shirt, but at the end it was too much and made me dizzy @_@, so I took these soft colors.

Mia Tyler

This is the Mr. Winkle one. I asked Ali which was her favorite Mr. Winkle piccie to make a winamp with. She liked this one (which myself consider pretty cute XDXDXD) so here it is. The picture reminded me of baby plushies, so I used pastels in blue shades. <3

Mr. Winkle

And the third one is with the Dixie Chicks. These girls have a realllly good photographer. I was tempted to use this picture but... I simply did not trust my graphic skills with it ^^;;;;;; Dunno. Being the image with such an important contrast, I needed to make it carefully and make it match with the winamp so no face could be kept under any button >_o or at least, one I could not "disguise" as I'm doing with many of them. Maybe next time ^^;; still, I love this picture in black and white <3 brushes used are a bunch of EmpireBT swirls edited by me and grungey roses to combine. Also, the image needed some sparkles to light *points final result*

Dixie Chicks

Ah! If you want to download any of these skins, go to the respective fanlistings. Ali might probably add them soon under an "Extras" section. ^^;;;;;;

In other news, I talked with one of the librarians of the University of Louisville about their technologies, their work and some interests and it ROCKED! XDXDXDXDXD *giggle giggle* *pika pika*

*goes suspicious mode* Why is it the maths are not working for me? 128 + 128 = 256 - 40 (from the video card)= 216.

Sunday, November 2, 2003

Well, I had a different Sunday. Mom and I got on the car to Rosario city, much more lively than ole' San Nicolás and with a higher level of enthusiasm in the 'city' wise attitude. First stop was Libertad shopping center, where I purchased some interesting items. First, a Cloud of Sparrows / Takashi Matsuokapretty good book named "Cloud of Sparrows" ("El honor del Samurai" in Spanish [The honor of the Samurai]), a novel situated in the Tokugawa era (Let: *MOANS*), my favorite, after Bakumatsu and Meiji, in that order. I would have given my retinas to play soccer with, to be a swordsmistress in the Bakumatsu. *le sighe-age*
Back to topic, this novel is pretty different from Memoirs of a Geisha. It's amusing, really. Pretty funny but yet not so 'convincing' as MoaG was for me. I'm pretty sure a good bunch of things are mistaken, just details, like a Geisha living in a simple cottage and dressing simple country clothes while ACTUALLY working as geisha, for example. The writing style is even simpler and open, making the reading process faster, and the situations move without much dramatism. The idea of the book was, obviously, to show the different views on the same situation from all the points of view: from the Daimio (Feudal lord) of Edo named Genji, from the samurai, from the Christian Americans coming to evangelize Japan, and from those with the view from the old Empire of the sun. I've read four chapters so far and it caught my interest. Most certainly because I love stories from those complicate eras of Japan.
Softly With These Songs: The Best of Roberta FlackThen, I bought a CD. "Softly With These Songs: The Best of Roberta Flack". Not bad. I had to really have something from this woman and I've been listening to it while reading the book I talked about previously. I was debating myself in between this one and "The Misseducation of Lauryn Hill". Weird combination, hm? Finally, the price decided me to get the present album. *chuckle* I also found a new album from Natalie Cole, but again, they were trying to cut my head off with the prices. Darn it ><'
Almost leaving the shopping, I found a good sale of children's books. They were hard cover, so I bougtht 3 for the school library, one with 6 classics (Robin Hood, Cinderella, etc) and 2 with one story only. Gorgeous illustrations and pretty stories. *nod*
We left and took a ride to the Independencia park, pretty famous in the city. It's a beautiful place with a lake, romantic bridges, boats, duckies, many games for the kids and a lot of green spaces. Very similar to the Palermo lakes in Buenos Aires city. A typical victorian hang out, in a pretty ancient city. Not as old as San Nicolas, but close. Talking about this, I commented to mom why Rosario developed itself more as a populated city than San Nicolás, and she told me that it was because of the commerce by the river. I asked why, since both cities have commercial ports and she said that because Rosario is more to the north in the same river and took all the move from the interior of the country. Still, if you ask me where I'd like to live, I'd still choose San Nicolás. Rosario is too dirty.

We took a walk around the lake, drink mate and had some sun. Nice, nice. Now all that healthy crap delivered into a laringitis I'm suffering right now. Next time I'll make a comment to mom about "This is nice. It's a pretty day", I'll shut my mouth out. I can't talk, my throat hurts as if there was someone digging a knife across my throat and the worse is that I have to work tomorrow, therefore, use my voice. Crap. Crap. Crap.

Let's hope my voice will be normal by tomorrow morning. *sighs*

Yesterday I did not have a good day at all. And to make it today, mom decided to go for a drive to Rosario city and have some fun. *gasps* Fun! On Sunday! Instead of locking ourselves at grandmother's house. Must be a paralell universe.

So for anyone who wants to reach me on AIM, I don't know at what time I'm coming in the late afternoon/night. Ja, mata.

*claps hands* Many good things are going on in my life.

Isn't that the best way to start a bloggie post? ^_~ My work is going over heels, there's a lot of people from all ages who want to help and cooperate to improve just... everything! And there are so many projects, ideas and there's such a lunatic kick-assey imagination around me, that I don't know how many clones of me I'll need to fulfill everything ^o^o^o^o^!
The work at the school library is über-fabulous. The kids are learning how to use the library, the different materials and they are also discovering the different kind of books, authors and topics. Some are learning to even help me in the librarian activities (such as ordering the books by collections, taking place in the technical proceedments of the borrowing and devolution of books, suggesting others and teaching them how to find what they need, etc) and the teachers are in such awe as myself am with the results of the visits to the library.

I mean, come on! A 9 YEAR OLD KID READING FOR PLEASURE! Without anyone forcing him/her to do it, and asking you for more! The extraordinary of this, is that it's not a matter of 4-6 *rare* cases in an entire class. It's actually the COMPLETE classroom with the same attitude. In their different levels of taste, difficulty and interest, but sitll, they *all* are in the reading belt.

This made me beam so much that when I left from work, I crossed the street to visit my aunt (who, BTW, is a librarian too. The world is so small ^^;;;;;;;;) and tell her about this. Next year, we are going to make a coordinated exchange work of reading activities with both schools. How much will that rock?

*claps hands* YES, I so love my profession XDXDXDXD <3<3<3<3

Some really late and delayed social now X_X

Each single day that passes by, you amaze me. How in the bloody hell you get that patience to compress that Harry Potter video to something decent looking, and how you get the coolest software without spending insane amount of money makes me do this: *bows on knees* I praise yew, oh Film/TV goddess XDXDXDXDXD!!!!!!!!!!! *SMOOCH* The song ROCKS. I'm going to work this afternoon. Yesterday, mother told me the son of the school principal asked her how I was /feeling/. That is, by all means, insane. That guy is a piece of ice who doesn't care about anyone at all, and asking indirectly to mom how I was feeling gives me the creeps, because it only means that the principal must be boiling now. I was thinking into working at morning too, but I'm not so trusting on my organic defenses, so I'll just go at 1:00 pm, and then to the other library.

Speaking of which, those really amuse me. Monday, one of the Librarians threw me a drama about his functions as professional there, that he cannot be in the remodelation works of the library controlling what's going on and attending the public at the same time. Man, if you are in charge of the morning turn, then it's part of your responsability. He raised his voice pretty much but it didn't bother me, because I know how they are. Well, yesterday he phoned me home to let me know of the latest progresses of the construction and whatnot. *blinks* We *desperately* need a head in there.

*green of envy* I so wished to have straight hair like you to wear a haircut like that. I looooove it *_* Lucky bitch. XD

*scratches head* Para tanto era, che? ^^?

Ammie, I believe RoD is pretty much the Librarian dream XDXDXD Spy-esque adventures finding rare books and devouring books with no end. Gotta love Yomiko <3<3 *lesighe-age* When I can save enough money I'll get a VHS copy of it (if I can T_T)

* Search for yourblognamehere.pitas.com at Google.com and then click the "show google's cache of.." link

* If they have indexed your page since the most recent backups you'll be able to cut and paste your newer entries from there.

* When you hit "Add a new entry", change the date up there from the current one, to the one where the post was supposed to be (you can check that at your cached page).

Here. I made it. The poor faerie seemed to grow a pair of "Open file(s)" and "Next track" breasts, but besides that, it looks pretty decent. On the next I'll play around with, I'll have to get more patience to make the equalizers match with the combo and make some buttons dissapear. But, well, her's my first try:

The Weaver. First attempt to make winamp skins

In case you are wondering, yes, art comes from Amy Brown's art. You can read that at the "readme" file I added to the mix. And yes, this has been inspired on Rae, who not so long ago told me one of her favourite faerie tales: "What should I dream of?" (or something like that. Forgive my shortness of memory), which is about a Prince who requests his dreamweavers to make pretty dreams for him and none reaches a good result, until he dreams by himself. It was a pretty story and the mental image of the dreamweavers caught my attention, I believe ^^ If you wantt o have this crappy first try, here's the file:

>> Download "The Weaver" (117 kb)

Oh, and if you don't know what's winamp or you don't know how to get it, here's the official site where you can download this MP3 player for free, so you can use the skin. ^^;;;

Tuesday, October 13, 2003

Last night and this morning I've been feeling like a punching bag. As much as this post is going to be taken as a direct point to someone, please understand that no. IT's just me.

I always have and always had this terrible image of a big mother up there looking down at me and shaking her finger, smirking and saying "No, no, no, no, no. Not today for you". And it's been like that. All my dreams, hopes and wishes were just illusions that someone BIGGER came and stepped on them, pulling them down. In every single way, in every single matter of my life, in every single moment of it. Always there. /There/.

This morning I woke up decently fine but since I didn't want to keep things in my head alone, I spoke them out. One thing sent the other, another button was pushed and I exploted in a fist of frustration at the kitchen, punching my fist against the table (getting hurt, simply because I'm out of training) and letting my mother in frustration tears also, for she cannot offer anything else to me than $7000 saved for any emergency case we need them. I went to the bathroom, cleaned the blood from my hand and sat on the couch at the living room. Later, she and I talked again.

And there's nothing to be done. I have to get my fucking ass out of my poorty and get my dirty fucking money with blood if I need to. But I don't want to depend on 2 jobs where I'm being paid practically illegally, nor I want to go in stress every time I need something and I have to ask my mother about it. Everybody have their lives but me, and that is simply no fun. No sir.

I'm going to continue working my ass out and get my, ////MY//// fucking money to live, goddamit. No matter how much it takes, no matter how many heads will dare TRY step on me, and no many how many asses I'll have to kick. I have my dignity and I won't let myself down. The fight has JUST started.

I'm going for lunch.
