I have been doing nothing all day. Actually I have been doing really nothing all weekend. I need to update the SnK site, but I've been sitting here umm...reading Harry Potter fanfic. ^^;;
I really didn't mean to get into the fandom...honest. I didn't think the books were incredibly good. I mean, yeah they were good, and J.K. Rowling's writing style improves very noticeably and dramatically from the first book to the fourth...if this keeps up, I'm excited to see what she has in store for the next couple of books. But it was the fandom that really got me. I think someone said that before...but I can't remember who. *shakes head*
I think part of the reason is that I haven't read good fanfic in so long. When I first got into anime I'd sit up all night just reading fanfiction. But what I found is that after a while there's not really a whole lot of GREAT fanfic out there. Most othe fanfic is mediocre-to-good, or downright crappy. I guess I've spoiled myself enough on good fanfic to not be able to appreciate regular fanfic. Or something.
Anyway, the Harry Potter fandom has fanfiction like it should be written, and that's probably why I can't get out of it now. Authors who really care about their stories, not just looking for a way to add their names onto the 1000000 fanfics out there in existence. It kind of makes me sad, because the HP fandom is already going downhill too...whenever a series hits the limelight, the quality of fanfic decreases (example: Gundam Wing or Weiss). It's not a pretty thing.
I recently discovered the little blurb on WB's so-called "Harry Potter Porn," and even as someone who doesn't regularly look for yaoi/slash/whatever language you want to call it fics, that highly offends me. Writers should be able to write what they want, and what's the point of bannning two well-written, in-character, grammatically correct HarryXDraco fics when there are are horrible quality fanfics out there featuring just as smutty renditions of heterosexual parings? It's those authors who write unreadable crap that need to be banned. If you want to ban yaoi, ban all that horrible crap coming out of the GW fandom before banning HP fics. (Not to bash GW fic authors...I am one, and my favorite GW fic happens to be shounen-ai.)
Anyway, enough ranting. I think I am going to go see the HP movie over Thanksgiving with my brother and check out the new Star Wars trailer that's supposed to be coming out on it. There are so many good movies coming out in the next couple of months...it's going to be awesome. ^_^ I'm pleased that people are actually getting some ideas in their heads of what makes a good movie, instead of churning out mass-marketed movies which rehash the same old plot elements. I'm especially excited about the Lord of the Rings movie.
Actually, I should be doing my homework, not ranting about Harry Potter. I might be on tonight, I might not. I might be looking for my HP fics. XD I think the Harry/Draco pairing is getting up there with DuoXWufei on my list of good yaoi pairings.

Today it rained. ^^;; Actually, it was yesterday now. It'd been drizzling off and on all day and it just so happened that right as I got out of class and had started walking to my car that it started pouring. It took me an extra 15 minutes or so to get home since the traffic on the highway was pretty much not moving. ><
So I got home and got into dry clothes (do you know how uncomfortable a wet uniform is?? ^^;;) and decided to write something for SnK. Unfortunately the power chose at that moment to go out, so I decided to take a nap. I thought, "well, I'll wake up at about 8 and then finish my work and go to bed."
At 2 AM I woke up and looked at the clock and said "It can't be 2 AM!"
Well it was *dies*
So that is why I'm awake now. I'll probably go back to bed in about half an hour or so, but I need to get something to eat cause I'm hungry. XD

Sorry I haven't blogged in a few days. And sorry for that...inscrutable entry below. I was in a weird mood on Sunday night and pretty much just frustrated with everyone around me. I'm better now though. ^_^ And feeling pretty damn accomplished. I've managed to get my homework for every class done for every day this week BEFORE 10 PM. *looks proud*
AND I got an email tonight from someone. XD I don't want to say more than that, but just say it was a pleasant surprise. Neesan and QS know who I'm talking about XD. He really does surprise me to no end...
Ah, damn PT. *grumbles* Due to my having to wake up at an ungodly hour of the morning tomorrow, I'm heading to bed. Oyasumi ^^;

I feel the changing seasons The long-awaited layout has finally arrived. >< I was actually gonna put it up last night but the pitas server was down from about 5 PM to sometime this morning, so I gave up. But I did it this afternoon! *looks proud* I've been trying to finish Idoru for a long time now but all I have time to read is about 2-3 pages a day. And it's not exactly a short novel...it's the only novel that has kept me interested in it for any amount of time lately, however. Maybe it's the Macross element. XD Neesan...*squish* Ganbatte ne? ^_~ We have that 24 hour POW/MIA run tonight, which marks the beginning of POW/Alumni/Dining out day.
