Disclaimer: This is all Laurelgand and Moonsong's fault. If not for them I'd never be writing this stuff on this page. Blame them and especially Laurelgand for the corpse tea.
version 36: Boromir, son of Denethor II, Steward of Gondor and brother to Faramir, played by Sean Bean. I wasn't too fond of him when I was a kid, but his portrayal in the movie was just brilliant. The Tengwar Quenta script on the top and bottom is one of the Elvish songs to Elbereth, while the script in the background is the Earendil poem by Bilbo, sounded out in Quenta ^^;; Quote from Faramir's lament for Boromir in Ithilien.
"Boromir, O Boromir! What did she say to you, the Lady that dies not? What did she see? What woke in your heart then? Why went you ever to Laurelindorenan, and came not by your own road, upon the horses of Rohan riding home in the morning?"

*waves* Yes, I'm alive! XD Been very busy with school starting and all. I took the PFT today (yesterday?) and we won't talk about what I got...suffice to say I need to work out before attempting to run two miles again. XD
Neesan and I have been on a jrock PV downloading spree....I must have gotten something like 30 vids in the last week. My favorites so far out of the ones I've gotten are X Japan's Tears, Luna Sea's Love Song, Gravity, and Rosier, Glay's Pure Soul Tour Movie, and L'Arc~en~Ciel's Heaven's Drive. I wish I could get Siam Shade or Transtic Nerve vids, or even Aucifer, but I guess they're not too popular over here. I might have to splurge and buy the DVDs or something ^^;;
Other than that, nothing's going on. I love my schedule this semester. So much free time!

I haven't blogged in a couple days *hangs head in shame* so this will probably be a long entry.
First of all, as you know (or should know XD) school started on Monday. I only have one class on MWF, Japanese from 1-2, so it's nice, though my TTH schedule is just as hectic as it was last year. I'm really excited about all of my classes. Japanese is going to be awesome...I can't wait to learn some more grammar. ^^;; I know that might sound odd, but I really do love Japanese, and every night I practice on my own reviewing and listening and reading to make sure I don't forget anything and to read ahead on my own. My two English professors are both nuts, but the classes themselves are fun. I didn't think I'd enjoy either of them, but they're turning out to be really interesting, especially the class on Classical and Romantic texts.
Air Force is going well. I'm support group commander, which means a shitload of work. Already the wing is behind on turning in plans. I had a meeting with my squadron commanders today, detailing my expectations and what I want from them as well as what to expect from me. A group is a bit smaller than a flight and more laid back. I think it'll be a challenge, but a fun and exciting one (of course, ask me again in about 3 months when I'm all cynical XD). I really like being a group commander. If I let myself, I'd sit there and feel overwhelmed with what the position entails, but I always get myself out of those moods before they start. I basically asked for this position when I didn't make wing commander, and I'm glad the COC trusts me with it. I intend to make the Combat TGIF and the POW Reunion the best "unit formal dinners" we've ever had. XD XD
Talked with Captain Wegner today and it looks like I'm going to get both my choices for summer programs. I applied for Overseas Operational Air Force and also CTA at Lackland. Capt Wegner says that my best bet is getting OAF in the early summer and then going to Lackland III, which is awesome, since it leaves a free block in the middle of my summer to do whatever. Of course, there is a drawback, as a month is too short to do study abroad anywhere or even to take summer school. I had hoped to get the fourth semester of Japanese out of the way over the summer so I could take upper division when I got back, but oh well. I'm not complaining.
Overall, things are going quite well. I dunno...I know I started off last semester with pretty much the same outlook on things, and a lot of things happened over the course of the course of four months, but looking back on it, I don't regret a thing. I'm hoping it will be the same with this semester. I can honestly say that I'm 100% happy with who I am, what I'm doing, and where I'm going, and that's saying a lot. I think I've grown tremendously over the past two years...matured I think is of course a good word, but also broadened my horizons, so to speak, and just learned to let a lot of things go and accept things, people, whatever for what they are. My faith in God has been strengthed a lot over the past half year as well, and I'm content to know that there's a plan for life waiting for me.
It's the simple things in life that bring the most joy.
Forgive me for a really sappy blog entry, but I just felt like making this summary blanket statement at the beginning of the semester before all the ranting about school and stuff comes in. ^_^
I love you, neesan.

I don't know if 'tis the season for bands to break up, but it sure seems like it. First Malice Mizer, then Zigzo, then Siam Shade. I didn't particularly care for Zigzo, but it took me a while to get over the loss of MM. And now Siam Shade is going in that direction.
Granted, they aren't officially disbanding until March, and they gave fans a two month warning. But again, there's that odd "last minute" message. They just released a new single...there wasn't any sign or anything at all. Bam.
I'm less of a Siam Shade fanatic than I am a Malice Mizer fanatic, and so I think I'll be ok this time. ^^;;; But in my opinion, Siam Shade was one of the bands - no, THE band - that had the most chance of success at becoming the next legendary jrock band. As the old bands are disappearing one by one, I was hoping that there would be some new ones to take their place. Siam Shade has loads of talent, some powerful songwriting, and just a great dynamic. They've also been around for as long as some of the old bands (formed in 1991, same as Laruku). The only thing holding them back was some weakness in the song style and lack of experimentation. But with their new single, I thought they had finally broken through.
Perhaps it's best to let this just sit and be silent, but I feel like I have to say something about it. I don't know...as neesan said, all bands have to break up sometime, but I REALLY don't understand Siam Shade's reasons for doing so. Malice Mizer, yes, but not Siam Shade.
Their last single was about love and dedicated to all their fans over the years. Perhaps they've been planning this for a while. If so, then it's more than acceptable farewell song. I'll never listen to it the same way again.
And I just did a blog layout on them too...guess I'll have to do another one.

This is probably the earliest I've blogged in a long time (not counting staying up till the magical hour) I just woke up about 20 minutes ago too....
It's very cold in here. We don't really mess with the thermostat here, and I've forgotten how cold it gets in the morning and afternoon because at night I have all my lights turned on and it gets hot in my room. I only have one window and it faces a hedge, so I wouldn't get much natural light even if I chose to open my blinds, which usually stay closed cause I have Star Wars posters on them. ^^;; Yeah I'm weird.
Want to go to the bookstore today and find some good books. I have to mail my cell phone payment too...everything costs money nowadays. I haven't been online much at all this week because there are books and anime I want to finish before the semester starts.
AND THERE'S ONLY TWO MORE DAYS LEFT!!!!! *sob*
OK I'm done now. ^_^

I seem to be listening to this song a lot.
Fanfiction ate me. Not in the way that you think...I'm not obsessing over any one fanfiction or even obsessing over writing or reading fanfiction in general. Sometimes I sit back and wonder why I call myself an author when all I ever do is write and rewrite versions of other peoples' works. Sometimes I wonder where the spark, the fire is within me that others have had to create such works before me. I feel the time slipping away, precious seconds ticking while I struggle to forge my own masterpiece out of the fires of my own heart.
I've started reading again. There was a period - the past two years, perhaps - when I dropped reading altogether. Where I picked up perhaps one book a year. Then there was a period where I didn't read anything at all except for manga, but that really didn't help because I could only understand half of it. And I wondered, what did these authors, these mangaka have that I don't? What drive do the possess that I don't? Why can't I seem to finish anything I start?
I would like to give up writing completely sometimes, but it's an itch in my bloodstream that fuels me, pushes me to the point of pain to write. And I do. With tears and heartsores sometimes, but I need to write, or else I would die. And yet there is nothing of consequence that flows from my pen.
Nothing that I would call of consequence, anyway.
Why do we do it, I wonder?

New layout! This took FOREVER to make and put up, since Pitas was being a pain. >< I hope they fix the server soon.
I just finished The Two Towers today and will be starting Return of the King as soon as I finish blogging. XD It's surprising how much I remember when I actually read it...I found myself stopping at all my favorite passages from when I was a kid and rereading them about 5 times.
Did I mention how much I love The Lord of the Rings? Well I do.Tolkien's prose is just beautiful...so much rich description. It makes you feel like you're actually looking at a painting or even a movie rather than just reading a book. Too bad they can't fit this all into the movies...it would be stunning.
Hmm. Hyde has stopped dying now...I shall be going to get dinner. Jaaaa

On your shore
I swear
Created from inside me
More than love I trust
Wash away your pains
Waves of love
Whichever words
You speak of yourself
Which came from
A song of a god?
We are the children
Of the same rhythm
To know you
To know a part of you
The smallest unit
In the world
Knew we would meet
A thousand years ago
It was in our genes
We are the children
Of the same rhythm
We were together
For a thousand years
