MACROSS 7 |:| STARLIGHT DREAM
words and music: FIRE BOMBER

Nakitai hodo
Suki toutta hoshi sora
Kirameku machi
Toosagaru sawameki

This lament has passed
The limits of the starry sky
The walled city
Is fading in the distance

Hitori kanashimi o
Kaze ni makase
Yureru omoi o
Kanjite itai

In the solitary sadness
That blows in the wind
I want to feel
The shaking memories

Hikari to kage
Kousa suru reality
Ginga no nami
Oshi yoseru energy

Light and shadows
Examine reality
Waves of the galaxy
Gather energy

Sora ni afureru
Kagari nai ai o
Sou sa uchuu ni
Subete ni kaesu tame ni

The sky overflows
With love
Everything in the universe
Changes for me

I can do it, I can do it now!
I can do it, I can do it now!
Tomadoi mo mayoi mo sutete
Kono shunkan kake you
Come on get up
Remember Starlight Dream!

I can do it, I can do it now!
I can do it, I can do it now!
Throw away disappointment and loss
Bet on this moment
Come on get up
Remember Starlight Dream!

Harashi no mama
Kake nukeru omoi de
Itsu no ma ni ka
Utsuwari o oboeta

Breaking through memories
From afar
Before I'm aware
That remembered it

Mune no itami
Kakushite mo afure
Dare mo shiranai
Seiza no mukou ze

Cover up the pain
In your heart
No one will tell you
About those stars

Kagami to yami
Hoshi mo itsu ka kiete
Inochi no kagi
Ai ni umare kawaru

When they disappear
Into a mirror of darkness
Love is born
To change the key to life

Neru kodomo tachi
No yume no naka ni
Sou sa hitotsu ni
Mugen ni kagayaki dasu

From the dreams
Of children
Come a person's
Light and eternity

I can do it, I can do it now!
I can do it, I can do it now!
Tozasareta kokoro no koe o
Kono shunkan tobasou
Come on get up
Remember Starlight Dream!

I can do it, I can do it now!
I can do it, I can do it now!
I locked the voice of my heart
But I fly into the moment
Come on get up
Remember Starlight Dream!

v23 || Somewhat...different from my past layouts. I think the picture turned out nicely, though the area around the letters lost some quality while saving/uploading >< Featuring Ohtori Akio and Himemiya Anthy, Dios and his goddess in their own right. Lyrics are from Vanilla by Gackt and Beauty and Stupid by Hide, very appropriate for Akio. XD

Is it okay to love, too?
In the shaking night
It’s good as it is
More...deeper...
As the almost maddening lips
That I'm used to melt together
I am...your...vanilla

transmission :: the I doctor
date :: suiyobui 08.1 5.01
music :: Fastball, Out of My Head (Sainan no Kekka Soundtrack, Act 5)

So today I went to the Eye Doctor. Again.

*sigh* I suppose I might as well start at the beginning. A couple days before I went to Japan I went in to get a new prescription for my contacts. I had wanted to get contacts earlier using my old prescription, but they so nicely informed me that I couldn't use that prescription anymore because it was more than a year old. So I had to get an exam.

I waited there for almost 2 hours before they finally saw me and gave me the exam. My contacts would come in while I was in Japan, so they said my parents could come in and pick them up for me. All well and good, right?

Apparently not. The optical assistant who was at the desk when my mom came in to pick them up last week informed her that I needed to be present to try the contacts on. So I went in yesterday to try them on.

First, the assistants couldn't find my file. They looked up and down and all around and under the computer and in the trash can (seriously!) and still couldn't find it. So they quit looking. That was the first thing that pissed me off. So when the little chubby assistant came out and started typing away happily on the computer, my mom and I said "Are you still looking?"

Assistant: Oh, of course! (quickly stops typing and starts looking).

><

When they FINALLY found the folder, then she had to go look for the contacts. And surprise...she couldn't find them. The contacts were located after about five minutes, at what point she then informed me that no, I didn't have to be present to try them on after all. They'd fit fine, she assured me. So we went home. And I tried them on.

Of COURSE, they didn't fit. The right eye's prescription was wrong. So I had to make another trip today.

I waited another two hours to get my eye re-examined, found out that the first doctor had given me the wrong prescription, and told that it would take another week for my new contacts to come in. I'm leaving for Austin in 2 days.

The moral of the story is: DO NOT GO TO THE EYE DOCTOR

Heh. I'm sure there exist good eye doctors out there somewhere. This one just wasn't one of them.

Anyway, I am sorry for having been nonexistant for the past couple of days, but between packing and going to the eye doctor and buying stuff at Wal-Mart, I haven't had time to do anything but check my mail. I am going car shopping tomorrow, and then might have the chance to get online tomorrow night. If not, then don't expect me on IM until Saturday night, after I get my computer hooked up in the new apartment. I hope my phone line there works. ^^;;

music :: Utada Hikaru, Final Distance

I finally got the two new singles I wanted today. Both of them are slow ballad-type songs, though obviously of different styles. Utada Hikaru's song Final Distance is almost classical in its style - no drums, just orchestra and some piano. Very different from the usual R&B stuff she does. This song has a story behind it- originally an upbeat song entitled Distance, Hikaru changed the pace, title, and lyrics of the song after the death of a little girl in Osaka who was the victim of a school stabbing. The girl was a big fan of hers, and Hikaru dedicated the song to her, saying that it was the "most meaningful things I've ever done."

The B'z single Gold doesn't have such a great story behind it, but it's still an awesome song. In the traditional style of B'z piano/orchestra ballads, it's epic, dramatic, and Tak Matsumoto is a kickass guitarist. XD Yeah, a lot of B'z songs sound kind of the same and this one really isn't any exception, but there's something very...grand about it that seems to commemorate a band that, in this age of one-hit-wonders, is one of the last great bands of our time.

I went to Chinatown today to stock up on food for my apartment. My parents got me a rice cooker *wicked laugheter* Now I can make onigiri! ^_^ Though I have to learn how to cook first...*ponders* That might be harder than it sounds...

Very late and I should have been in bed hours ago. The soundtdrack for Act IV of SnK is FINALLY up, and I hope to complete Act V tomorrow. I also still need to pick my CDs for the CD order. Minna, it seems I missed most of you on IM again today...hopefully everyone will be on tomorrow!

Blah.

So I am home. The plane ride was utterly exhausting. 14 hours from Hong Kong to Newark, 2 hours' wait and customs in Newark, then 4 hours from Newark to Houston. I got in about 9:30 PM. My dad and brother met me at the airport and I managed to get up enough energy to give them a brief account of the trip. I guess I was on that second wind that you get after you don't have any sleep in two days or so. Scary to think that I spent almost a whole day on the plane ><

I. Hate. Customs. ><;;;;; enough said. Hong Kong customs is the worst. Japan's is just screwy. US customs is ok, except you have to declare everything you need to pay duties for. You don't have to do that in Asia, apparently. Anyway, the bottom line is that customs is bad.

I guess I missed everyone online cause by the time I got home it was almost 11 PM, and I had to give my family their presents from the family in Hong Kong and call my aunt and grandparents to let them know the plane didn't crash on the way across the Pacific ocean. Or something like that. I then unpacked. A larger pile of stuff I have not seen. I told my mom I had bought 13 Jrock CDs and she just about freaked out. She hates Japanese music. *evil grin*

Anyway, right now, that dead tiredness and depression is settling in and I feel rather dull and lifeless right now. Plus I have a headache and my fingers hurt from using the mouse. ^^;; But here I am, cause I finally made a new layout.

Yes, Squall and Rinoa are gone, replaced by...Akio and Anthy. *thinks* I don't know whether that's good or not, but I've had this layout bouncing around in my head ever since I got back to Hong Kong. Plus, the version of Beauty and Stupid on the Hide Tribute Spirits album inspired me (in which they yell BABY LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU LIKE AN ANIMAL!!! till it drowns out everything else ^^;;;) Hmm...anyway, I really like this layout, even if the subject matter is a bit...questionable. *hides*

I really miss Hong Kong, but that's to be expected. I kind of had culture shock walking into the Newark airport and not hearing Chinese and seeing all these American people around me. ^^;;; Will take me a day or two to adjust, I suppose. I'm in Houston until Thursday, whereupon I depart to take care of my apartment business and hopefully will be successful in bugging the apartment people until they let me move in. *sigh* I hate moving. And I hate buying furniture. The good thing is I'm getting a car. ^_^

Enough blogging for tonight. I'm exhausted. Minna, and especially QS, hope to catch you tomorrow. Moonsong-tachi...you up for a chat tomorrow night or so? Neesan, if your computer is working, that is. ^^;;;

My aunts and my uncle really want me to go back to Japan/Hong Kong next year. I didn't promise them anything, but my schedule looks really full next summer. First of all, I want to apply to study abroad at Oxford for a month. That sounds fun. Also, I wanna go back to SLS (obviously), and then there's the matter of trying to get a CTA spot for any Lackland encampment. Finally, there's AX, which I REALLY REALLY wanna go to. ^^;;; Trying to fit a trip to Asia in between all that is going to be...interesting, to say the least. At least, the CTA spot and the Oxford trip might or might not happen, so I'm crossing my fingers to see how it all turns out. XD XD More jrock!

Laurel, I thought you meant something else yesterday when you were talking about your "first Fire Bomber CD." You must have meant that Live Fire was the first one ^^;; gomen! I actually have Live Fire ^^;;; (Live Fire isn't only LIKE a concert...it IS a concert. ^_^ "Fire Bomber" the group put on two concerts following the completion of the Macross 7 TV series and Live Fire is a recording of the first one. The group consisted of Hayashi Nobutoushi [yes THE Hayashi Nobutoushi...Basara's seiyuu], Sakurai Tomo [Mylene's seiyuu], Chie Kaijura [Mylene's singer], and Fukuyama Yoshiki [Basara's singer]) The CD I'm looking for is the first Macross 7 OST, Let's Fire, which has a really awesome acoustic version of My Soul For You straight off the TV series which was used in some really cool scenes. I've been looking for it forever. The acoustic version that YOU had (and deleted) was the piano version from Radio Fire that I sent you. (there are like 20 different versions of most of the Fire Bomber songs so for someone who hasn't seen the anime, it gets confusing ^^;) Anyway, I guess I will continue looking...I saw the Let's Fire CD in a CD store yesterday in Kowloon but it was $205 HK...way too expensive for me. Umm...by any chance, is the version of My Soul For You on the Galaxy Network Chart a version with Basara singing and ONLY an acoustic guitar accompaniment? If so, that's the one I'm looking for...

Neesan, I hope you feel better. ^^ Hang in there...watch Macross! XD XD (my solution to everything, these days...funny thing is, it works ^^;;)

Lyra, I'm so sorry to hear about your little brother's friend...that's terrible. I hope his family and your family can get through these tough times...and if you ever need anything, I'm here, as usual. *glomps not-a-spleen*

Exar, went shopping yesterday. Saw Aucifer's BEATrip CD, but err...I didn't have enough money for it. ^^;;; So I got you the Kokodewanai Dokokae single (Glay) instead. I'll burn you some stuff when I get home. =D

QS, hurry up with that Zechs side! And I'll be glad to help you with those reviews when I get back. XD XD

That collective CD order thing is really cool. I just looked through the catalogue (this public computer is so much faster than my aunt's ><) and already have about 10 CDs I want and can't afford. Must narrow list down ;_; Hee hee.

I went and got Glay's new single Stay Tuned yesterday because I saw it on sale...I wasn't planning to like it. I haven't really been impressed with the stuff Glay has turned out lately, but I decided to get this anyway. Was surprised when it turned out to be a very nice song. It's not one of Glay's very best, but certainly a really cool single with the trademark Glay "Happy" sound. Worth a download, if any of you guys are interested. ^_^

I might or might not blog again before I leave for Texas...if I don't, I will see you guys when I get back! Asia is awesome, but I'm ready to go home. ^_^ Sayonara!

This entry is gonna be short because we have to leave to go to Kowloon in about 5 minutes, but just wanted to update with some interesting tidbits before I jet.

I turned on the TV yesterday afternoon and lo and behold, FY was airing on channel 2. Of course, it was dubbed in Cantonese, but still, it was FY. XD XD I think it was episode 44...whichever ep it is with Mits ;_; I forgot. My aunt looked at me funny when I started singing to Wakatte Itahazu and Tokimeki no Doukasen. ^_~

Neesan, go watch some Macross 7. It will make you feel better.

QS, I got you the COOLEST thing yesterday. ^_______________^ Ever heard of SD Gundam? I got you the Wing Zero model. It's so freaking CUTE. If you know me, you'll know I HATE using that word for anything. In fact, I never use it. But this Wing Zero model is CUTE. ^^;;;;;;;;; Also, I finished a Noin side a few days ago that goes after Act 6. I'll send it to you when I get back home.

Erm...Exar, I am off today to see if I can find you some Aucifer or Glay or Ayu. ^_______^

That is all. Good day, folks...or I guess for you all, it's good night. XD XD

OK, this is going to be one of those posts that has messages addressed to various people. If you're not one of those people, it's going to be very boring. Just a warning. ^_^

NEESAN: SURE!! ^_^ I'd love to get a copy of Psychocommunity, and I can burn you Dahlia. I guess the reason I bought Hide Tribute Spirits instead was I already have a lot of Hide songs on mp3 already. ^^;; But I'm glad you're discovering Hide now...I remember when I tried to get you to listen to him a couple months back, but you were on your Lareine/MM/Klaha kick (gives neesan a little shove) XD XD. oh and BTW, on your last entry ^^;; in the "Ever Free" section, I think you made a little mistake...the "come on baby" lyrics are to the beginning/end of Rocket Dive, not Ever Free. The beginning and end of Ever Free have Hide chanting "get free, let me free, let me out." ^^;;;

LAUREL: WAI WAI WAI!!! MACROSS 7 CDS!!!!!!!! Actually, I have a little question ^^;; The "first Firebomber CD" you're referring to...is that "Let's Fire?" If it is, what tracks are on there? I know it's a SonMay copy, but if it has the acoustic version of My Soul For You, can you PLEEAAAAAASE make an mp3 for me??? *_* I've been looking EVERYWHERE for that version of the song...the Acoustic Fire version is different from the one in the anime. ;_; As to Galaxy Network Chart and Dynamite Fire, I love both of them, but in my opinion, the best Macross 7 albums are either Ultra Fire (duh...best of Fire Bomber) or Radio Fire, the drama CD/bonus song CD. *_* Err...but of course, I'm a Macross freak. XD XD XD XD

LYRA: Yeah, that artbook's the one. ^^;; I guess I won't be giving it to you then. OK, the Utena Movie Artbook is now up for grabs to anyone in mr.org (preferably Jen, Mearl, or QS) You want it, email me, or else I'm going to be doing rock-paper-scissors or something and mailing it to some random person. ^^

JEN: I dunno what's up with you, but just read Laurel's blog. Hope you feel better, and I'm thinking of you! ^_^

EXAR: anything else besides Aucifer you want? I'm going back to Hong Kong today to do a little shopping. Maybe some rancor feed? Or some drugs for the new RERM? XD XD Oh! Or maybe I can get you something for the borps in the chimney. Unless the PCE cat ate them ^^;; since it seems to have expanded its choices of food.

ENITAPLAP: I dunno if you read this, but I got you a CD player and Siam Shade V. Plus a whole bunch of other jrock CDs for me that you'll wanna listen to when I get back. ^_^ I hope you haven't broken my guitar yet.

Ok that ends the random message to various people. Nothing going on...as I said, I'm going to Hong Kong today and looking for some stuff to buy.

I saw an episode of GTO yesterday (the dorama, not the anime) and it was REALLY cool ^__________^. Of course, it was dubbed in Cantonese ^^;; I'd love to see it in the original Japanese...I'm going to look for some manga or something today. *_* Anyone have some GTO stuff that they can spare? ^_~

I gotta go...have a ferry to catch at 12:15 and I still have to pack. See you soon!
