"It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

IMAGE SONG LYRICS!

Sometimes we've just got to believe in ourselves because no one else will.

MACROSS 7 |:| ANGEL VOICE
words and music: FIRE BOMBER
sung by: NEKKI BASARA

mimi o sumaseba kasuka ni kikoeru darou
hora ano koe
kotoba nanka ja tsutae rarenai nani ka
itsumo kanjiru are wa tenshi no koe

listen carefully, you'll hear it faintly
listen, that voice
something that words can't express
that you feel always, that is the angel's voice

melody wa kieru yami ni shimi komu you ni
echo nokoshite
shizuka ni oriteku deep blue no aurora ni
ore mo utau ze

the melody vanishes, as though soaked by darkness
an echo remains
falling silently into a deep blue aurora
I will sing as well

shinjite ita mono ga aru
baka da to iwareta keredo
kawara nakatta
ano hi no yume

I have something I believe in
though they might call it foolish
it did not change
the dream of that day

angel voice mitsuketa no sa
chiheisen no mukou ni
kirari hikatta
omae no sugata wa yume janakatta
nagare nagarete yukou
itsuka mata aou ze
hitomi tojireba
itsumo kokoro no naka ni hibiku
angel voice

angel voice I have found it
beyond the horizon
shining brightly
your figure was not a dream
the tears flow on
sometime we will meet again
if you close your eyes
it will always reverberate in your heart
angel voice

kokoro wa kawaru keshiki to onaji you ni
shikata nai no sa
kami-sama nan te doko ka kimagure dakara
ate ni suru na yo

your heart will change, along with the scenery
there is no helping it
because God is somehow whimsical
don't rely on it

hashiri tsuzuke tei you ze
hachi tomaru no wa mada daro
tadori tsukitai
yami no mukou

let's keep on running
it's not yet time to stand still
soon I want to arrive at the place
beyond this darkness

angel voice kanjita no sa
haruka no mune no kodou
rhythm awasete
yatto kono basho de futari de aeta
omae no sono sugata
sono me ni yaki tsukeru
heavy na yoru ni mo
kitto chikara ataete kureru
angel voice

angel voice I felt it
the beat of a distant heart
combine the rhythms
finally we were able to meet here
your face
is burned into my eyes
even in the heavy night
it will surely give me power
angel voice

mimi o sumaseba
itsumo kikoeru darou?
hora ano koe
are wa tenshi no koe

if you listen carefully
you hear it always
listen, that voice
that is the angel's voice

[ WAI! :: DOYOUBI 3.10.01 :: GOZEN 4:06 ]

Listening to: Houshin Engi, Friends

I swear, someday I'm going to start going to bed at a DECENT time. *thinks* .......NAHHHHH

XD XD

It's 4:30 in the morning and I'm as genki as hell (and no, I still don't understand where that expression got started, Mearl, but I like using it ^_~) so I guess I can begin by giving some of that individual blog feedback I've been meaning to give...

Neesan, I completely agree with you about Gackt's solo stuff vs. his Malice Mizer stuff. All the MM stuff was and continues to be "experimental" in sound and nature and really takes some getting used to. There are a few MM songs, such as Au Revoir and Le Ciel which have somewhat of the "easy listening" quality, but I'd even hate to say that with those two. I dunno...I guess I like my music deep. ^^;; Regarding the Illuminati video...*looks evil* sorry to have subjected you to so much of that, but hey, I absolutely love that video. I mean, what could be better than sex, bondage, blood, gore, and great music all rolled into one? ^^;; (don't answer that)

Lyra, so sorry to have had to cancel the vid, but I was trying to do about 10 things at once and it wasn't working. ;_; I'll try again tomorrow and hopefully we can get the rest of that 30% finished.

Mearl, still haven't gotten to your story ^^;;; I'll do it first thing tomorrow, promise!

QS, I missed you today! I got your message but I was away watching Houshin Engi...anyway, I see that you've gotten on schedule and posted 4.1 on the ML. ^^

Laurel...you ROCK. That Atsuki sketch is really good, no matter if you believe me or not. It still is really good. I'll take WHATEVER fanart you want to send me, guaranteed. ^_~

Jen...where are you? ;_; Hope you're having a great time in TN! (with your Glay...heh)

Houshin Engi is addictive. Who would ever have thought that I'd be obsessed with a series containing flying purple hippos? But seriously...I wish that all 26 eps had been fansubbed. Now I'm going to have to wait for the stupid commercial release....ARGH. The art is the best I've ever seen for any shounen series (except for maybe Kenshin...that's debatable) and the comedy is hilariously funny without taking away from the punch of the drama. Truly worth a watch.

Following Laurel's lead, I was innovative last night and made a Saionji/Touga bg for my computer off the Tokyo Babylon Girl on Film artbook page. Except, of course, this bg is Boys on Film. I'll upload it tomorrow (today? o.O;;) along with some of Laurel's stuff that she sent me. ^_^

And now it truly is past my bedtime...oh the horror *dies* But hey, it's Spring Break so I figure I should get some leeway, right? XD

[ AIR FORCE :: KINYOUBI 3.9.01 :: GOZEN 11:29 ]

Listning to: Hide, Ever Free

I just woke up. ^^;; As a result, I am in quite a weird mood, and reading Mearl's blog only put me in more of a weird mood. ^^;;

I think I define myself in terms of people and things and institutions, somewhat. I think it's impossible for anyone not to. People have this inner desire to do things that they like, that they hope other people will like, and to gain recognition for their work. I think I do. I hope my reasons are not entirely selfish. And, as stated before, I am a very arrogant and probably selfish person as well, so that's very hard. I know I'm a good writer, and people point it out all the time, so I supposed I've developed a "complex." Probably the only non-selfish thing I've really ever done is to join the military. I am in the Air Force because I have a desire to serve something larger than myself...where I am only just as important as every single other member of the team, and it doesn't matter if I do a good job; everyone has to pull their own weight to make it happen. True, I am told I'm a good cadet as well, but somehow that has really ceased to be a matter of arrogance as much working harder to make the entire detachment the best it can be.

That sounds idealistic, but I tend to believe that most people in the military are very idealistic and arrogant people, like me. Joining the military takes, I believe, a certain amount of idealism, believing in outdated codes of honor, believing that you can change the world through your actions, knowing that a wrong decision can mean death for millions of people, believing that there is no such thing as the gray area between right and wrong. In war, you can't afford to give the enemy a second chance. Doing so, you might be signing your own death warrant. It's kill or be killed. I appreciate fiction such as anime (Gundam Wing) telling us that war is certainly not black and white and there are repercussions for all around. And I certainly agree. But somehow when you're actually in in the position of the soldier and staring death down its throat, that can't be an issue. It's sad, I suppose, but true. That's how the military needs to work to be effective.

I don't claim to understand it, and I have reason to believe that the above discourse might even offend some people who aren't part of the military. I don't blame them for being offended. It's harsh, and probably puts the military in an unfavorable light. But that's how the military works, and I am only one member of it among thousands of others who are willing to give their lives for one cause alone. I spoke of outdated codes of honor, and they truly are outdated. Our honor code is "We will not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate among us anyone who does." Our Air Force Core Values are "Integrity first, Service before Self, Excellence in All We Do." Tell me, do most people in the world truly believe in these things anymore? I think not. In our "modern" society, it's every man for himself, take what you get before someone else gets it and hope they don't find out if you cheat, do only as much as you can get away with, and BS the rest. In the military, it's not like that. Every man for himself breaks the team apart. Take what you can get results in faulty communication. Wonder what will happen if a mechanic decides that he's done enough on someone's plane, and even though it's not quite fixed, "it'll be ok?" Lives hang in the balance, both civilian and military.

I'm not ranting to offend anyone, and I hope I haven't. But quite frankly, the military is probably the only organization that I myself have found to still believe in some of the things I believe in. I am in the military because I want to protect the United States because I am a citizen of this country and I love it enough to be willing to sacrifice my life for it. I might be young and I might be idealistic, but I think being this way is a hell of a lot better than being someone locked in a office from 9-5, earning a million dollars, and living in a huge mansion with nice cars. There's something beautiful in what I do that seems to be slowly slipping from the world's grasp, and in this age of cynicism and impersonality, it's going to be hard to hold on to.

But, you know, I try, because I love what I do and I believe in honor and integrity and service and excellence, because I am a member of the United States Air Force, and "no one does it better."

You have no chance to survive make your time.
Ha ha ha ha.......
Take off every 'zig'
You know what you doing.

For great honor.

[ GACKT :: MOKUYOUBI 3.8.01 :: GOZEN 1:16 ]

Listening to: Macross 7, Dynamite Explosion
Desktop: Heero Yuy, Gundam Wing

Neesan, I'm glad you've uh...discovered Gackt. ^^;; Gackt has got to be one of the best jrock/pop vocalists around today...perhaps THE best. He's certainly my favorite in terms of voice quality. Though I agree with Lyra that his new teenybopper look just screams "BSB REJECT!" I enjoyed his Malice Mizer look a lot more. I think I used the word "intense" to describe his days in MM, in chat. If you listen to his MM or his early solo work, you can hear that intensity. I don't know wny other word to describe it...it just seemed he was really into the music. Now, it doesn't seem as much about the music as it is being commercialized. *sigh* Happens to the best of them, I suppose.

Tin, I love your new layout! ^_^ That's one of the characters from the Miracle Merchant, right? Or am I mistaken? ^^;;; That's a great story, by the way. Very...surreal ^^;;

QS, ain't TB addictive? ^_~

Lyra, I wanna see that Gackt picture!

Mearl, I'll have your story critiqued...after I finish studying for my Latin test. Gomen! I had a lot more to study than I thought. It'll get done by Friday, if not sooner, since I get out for Spring Break then. ^_^

Jen! Glad you got your CDs! A word of caution...if the CD player in your car is an older model, the CDs might not work. Just warning you before you get disappointed. If you have any questions about any of the tracks, just email or IM me or blog. ^_^ One note: Missing You isn't actually in the Heavy Gauge album...I just stuck it in there. I should have put it in the "singles" section on the CD, but too late now, eh?

I think I said this to everyone already, but I'll repeat myself. If any of you Midnight Revolution folks have done any computer desktops and you haven't sent them to me, I'll gladly take them. I'm making a desktop site for MR.org to house all of our efforts on, and if you want yours to be displayed there, I'll put it up ^_^. The site is Midnight Revolution Desktops, and I'll put up a link to MR.org as soon as the stupid server decides to acknowledge its existence. ><

Well, I must be going. I have PT tomorrow, which sucks because most of my flight is going to be ushering at the Boys' UIL basketball games at the Erwin Center. I woulda gone but I have Japanese at 9:30 and I wasn't about to miss my test. Which I haven't studied for. Though I can now decline hic haec hoc for you and conjugate Latin verbs in the fourth conjugation through the perfect tenses. Ha ha ha *falls over*

Semper ubi sub ubi! ^^;;; Hmm...Vanilla is on. All better ^___^

~Ger

[ BLURGGGG.... :: SUIYOUBI 3.7.01 :: GOZEN 2:10 ]

Listening to: Hamasaki Ayumi, Evolution

Blurg. ^_^

ChaoticEmpire.org has a new layout! Angsty Heero makes his appearance once again (sorry Laurel ^_~) It's actually a pretty good layout...I should have made the actual text frame a little larger, but I was sick of image editing by that time and didn't feel like starting over. CE.org contains actual descriptions of my sites now.

Laurel, tell me when I can upload to anc.com again, so I can get working on mr.org. (ooh...so many acronyms...)

QS, I don't know when your CD's will get there since you're having such crappy weather over there. Hopefully soon.

Hamasaki Ayumi's latest (well, I guess it's not latest anymore...she has a new one out now, but it's still new) single, Evolution, has got to be one of the funkiest songs I've ever heard. It's FUN. You've gotta hear it to know what I'm talking about...there's really no melody and all of it is basically a fast dance beat with random notes, but it's...FUN! Err...Blurg.

That's my sleep-deprived noise. Blurg. Blurg. Blurgh with an h!

...no, I'm not sleep-deprived at ALL *wanders off to look for polar bears in the refrigerator*

[ NOSTALGIA :: KAYOUBI 3.6.01 :: GOGO 3:59 ]

Listening to: Glay, Be With You

I was walking home from returning my long overdue library book this afternoon ^^;;; and I saw two friends of mine from high school whom I haven't seen in forever. It was weird. They still look pretty much the same; I knew them from band. They both played trombone and I was drum major with one of them. Both of them are in the university marching band now, and it was just rather...odd to see them again after this much time. We didn't have much to say to each other; it was just the "hey, what's up?" type of thing. Daniel asked about his ex-girlfriend Susan, and we talked about her for a while (innocent stuff of course ^_~), and then we went our separate ways. I probably won't see them again for another half year or so.

I suppose that's weird, since we go to the same university, but it IS the largest university in the nation, and rather difficult to find people even if you're LOOKING for them. But it was...awkward. And definitely...different. *sigh* I don't even really know the adjective I'm looking for, so I'll give up...

Jen, arigatou!!! I'll include a note next time, I PROMISE. I always mean to include them, I just keep forgetting. ^^;;

Laurel....REALLY. *hides*

Mearl, congrats! ^__^ Isn't it a great feeling to be published! I haven't been published in anything as big as a city-wide literary journal, but getting anything published is just a huge step, and it makes you feel like you must've done SOMETHING right. Ne? You're such a great writer...I'm proud of you!

QS, I'll be writing Relena tonight. I have plot all sketched out. Man, we're just whipping through part 1 this week! (now I'm starting to sound like Mearl...dude. ^^) Maybe if I finish early I can start on a side or two for next week.

Be With You is the greatest Glay song ever. I don't know why. The lyrics are rather cheesy and sappy, and the melody's nothing great...but for some reason I simply love it to death. It's been my favorite Glay song for about half a year now, and every time I listen to it it just gets better and better. Though the single version leaves something to be desired...*mutters* FLAT, TERU, FLAT!!! But who can resist a single CD containing Be With You, Doku Rokku (HELP ME GOW GO A HEY! ^^;;; honestly, that's what Teru's singing), Strawberry Shake (Jiro singing...*cringe*), It's Dying~It's Not Dying (otherwise known as improvisation of We Live In Universe), and Be With You karaoke? The karaoke is really the only good thing on the single, but...hey. I like making fun of all the other songs. ^^;;; Ok, so I'm weird...we've already established this fact.

Hmm...well now Be With You has ended and Malice Mizer is playing and I need to go cram for my Latin test ><

Hee.

[ STUFF :: GETSUYOUBI 3.5.01 :: GOZEN 11:55 ]

Listening to: Goo Goo Dolls, Long Way Down (SnK Soundtrack)

I've been on an English music kick all weekend, and it's rather scaring me. I guess SnK has really driven me insane, huh? ^^;;

Jen, if you haven't gotten my email, I don't have your mailing address. If you'd send it to me ASAP that would be GREAT. ^_^ Hopefully everyone's CD's will be in the mail by this afternoon.

Minna, that was a good chat we had last night. I hadn't even realized how much stuff I needed to get off my chest about my..."relationship" last semester, and it really helped. *sigh* It hurts, yeah, but life goes on, ne? It's time to put my life back together...I'm going to class today, and I'm going to study and not waste my time staring at the computer screen feeling sorry for myself, tempting as it may be.

QS, I replied to the girl who wrote us at snkauthors this morning...can't remember her name ^^;;;

My roommate keeps walking in and out and slamming the door. I can't figure out if it's rage or if it's just a habit. I should ask, huh? *scratches head*

Well...I guess I could go be productive and do something. Be on IM later.

~Ger

[ SnK :: NICHIYOUBI 3.4.01 :: GOGO 6:47 ]

Listening to: Armitage III, Phantom World

So did I mention I hate my ROTC flight? *grumbles* Yeah, so we didn't all show up at the flight meeting, but that's no excuse to send an email to the flight cursing at them for being absent. That's one of the biggest mistakes any commanding officer can make, and I don't think anyone in the flight will suddenly start attending meetings because they were cursed at. I mean, really. ><

Retarded kids.

SnK is now eating my life once again, as this whole weekend I have been doing nothing but updating various and sundry parts of the page and/or html-ing the fic part. It really is turning into a monster fic now, though QS and I have set the length and various other details that don't need to be mentioned as of yet. ^^;; I'm hoping to have it finished by next year? *dies*

Mearl, it must be your breath. Geez. You stinky breath girl. ^_~

~Ger

[ FOOOOOD :: SATURDAY 3.3.01 :: 5:47 PM ]

Listening to: Glay, Strawberry Shake (live version) o.O;;
Desktop: Amiboshi and Suboshi, Fushigi Yuugi
Eating: a giant burrito ^^;;;

*cringes* I love Glay to death, but Jiro ABSOLUTELY CANNOT sing. *cringes some more* Oh, the horror of his voice...>.> Though this song cracks me up, especially when Jiro starts shouting to the crowd "MINNA GENKI? UH UH UH UH!" ^^;;;; err...well it amuses me, ok!?!?

And Act 3 of SnK is DONE! Stayed up till 3 in the morning fixing HTML, but it's done. I'm quite proud of it, to say so myself. Especially the soundtrack...the soundtrack to Act 3 is in my opinion a step above the ones for Acts 1 and 2. Maybe because I just like the songs on it better. ^_~

Jen, I've burned your CD's for you and hopefully they will get there in time for your drive! ^_^ There are four of them and I'll include the track listings with the cases.

Laurel, FANTASTIC layout for Freedom Launch. Though Garrod gave me a start for a second...he looks exactly like Heero in that picture except with diff colored hair and eyes. ^^;;;

QS, *FLYINGTACKLEGLOMP* You know what that's for! ^____^

Neesan, your blog scares me. ^^;;;;; hee hee hee

All right so I'm genki, I'm bored, and I'm talkative. Which is a very very dangerous combination and only happens once every several thousand years or so for me, so take advantage of it while you can, people!!!!!!!!!!

[ NEUROMANCER :: THURSDAY 3.1.01 :: 10:37 PM ]

Listening to: (what else?) Glay, Neuromancer

Ok, so it hasn't been quite a full week, but I get sick of my blog layouts easily. So sue me. ^^;;;

Honestly, I wasn't planning on changing this, but walking home from class this afternoon I had the Neuromancer song stuck in my head and I got inspired. I've never actually read William Gibson's novel, but I promise I'll get around to it one day. I do have it at home...just haven't actually decided to get un-lazy. I haven't really read read a book in forever. For those of you who don't know, William Gibson was the first person to ever use the term "cyberspace."

Satsuki's one of my favorite characters in X. I mean, who could not like a girl who singlehandedly built the most powerful computer in the world? Plus not only that, but she's hostile and she is obessed with her computer. ^__^ Before I watched Macross 7, Satsuki was the only female character to make it into my top 10 favorite anime characters list. The "don't need emotion // everything is an imitation" quote from the Glay song really fits her.

Enough babbling. QS, Catherine is done and ready to be posted. Tell me how far you've gotten on your other sections. And NO, your writing has NOT been substandard. I should know. I write with you. Stop putting your writing down. You are a GREAT writer.

Off to study Latin...and maybe play a little FF8 ^_~
