"It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

IMAGE SONG LYRICS!

There's only one thing to say to this...ORE NO UTA O KIKE!!!

MACROSS 7 |:| TOTSUGEKI LOVE HEART
words and music: FIRE BOMBER
sung by: NEKKI BASARA and MYLENE JENIUS

let's go tsukinuke you ze
yume de mita yoake he
mada mada tooi kedo
maybe donikanaru no sa
ai ga areba itsudatte

let's go break through the dream
to see the dawn
but it's still too far away
maybe one way or another
love will eventually come

ore no uta wo kikeba
kantan na koto sa
futatsu no haato
o kurosu saseru nante

if you listen to my song
it's so simple to do
two hearts would cross
and become one

yozora wo kakeru love heart
moeru omoi o nosete
kanashimi to mikushimi to
uchiotoshite yuke

my love heart soars into the night sky
taking burning memories with it
sadness and anger
it's beating them down

omae no kokoro ni love heart
massugu uketomete destiny
nan oku kounen mo kagata he to
totsugeki love heart

there's a love heart in your soul
meet your destiny head-on
through a million lightyears
charges my love heart

let's dance hoshitachi mo utau
isshun datte nagaku dekiru
tsubasa wo futtara rock with me
baby nanto kasaru kara
sono te wo hanasanaide

let's dance; even the stars are singing
as the moment becomes forever
spread your wings and rock with me
baby no matter what you say
I'll never let go of your hand

ore no uta wo kiite
power dase yo
saigo made akiramecha ikenai ze

just listen to my song
and receive its power
until the end without giving up

ashita wo kakeru love heart
makkana kiseki o egaki
tokimeki to hohoemi o
baramaite yuke

my love heart soars into tomorrow
leaving a deep red trail
excitement and happiness
it scatters everywhere

subete no kokoro ni love heart
hibana ga chirisou na telepathy
afureru omoi wa ryuusenkei
totsugeki love heart

with all my soul my love heart
scatters telepathic sparks
the radiating memories overflow
my charging love heart

[ UTENA! :: GETSUYOUBI 3.26.01 :: GOZEN 12:51 ]

Listening to: Shoujo Kakumei Utena, Heizoku Uchuu ni Fuumetsu no Koutei (Miki)

Jen, did you mention that you were missing a few episodes of Utena? I can't remember if you did or not...I wanted to watch Ruka tonight but apparently the Ruka eps aren't on the tapes you gave me. Oh well ^^

Miki's duel song is cool. *_* I never really listened to it the first time, but I think it's the best one I've heard.

I started Darkflight tonight for Act 4 Scene 2 of SnK...wrote about 2 pages. QS, sorry to hear you're having writer's block. I'll keep my fingers crossed, ne?

This is a rather pointless entry and I really should be going to bed. I didn't do anything of consequence today except finish that Relena side, and I'm behind on my schoolwork...I'm so lazy these days. It's disgusting. ><

[ MIKAGE :: NICHIYOUBI 3.25.01 :: GOZEN 3:24 ]

Listening to: Houshin Engi, Friends

So at about 1 AM I decided that I was sick of image editing and Hayashi Nobutoushi's face (Macross WAH) and needed to watch Utena or I would die. *fidget* So I did.

Jen, I had no idea that the tapes you gave me started at the end eps of the Black Rose saga. Boy is that some wacked-up stuff. I mean, I knew all about Nemuro Memorial Hall and Mikage and Mamiya, but somehow actually watching it sends shivers up my spine. It was WEIRD. Especially the last few minutes of the last Black Rose ep.

Mikage-sempai...who REALLY set fire to that hall?

Then again, this is Utena. XD

Oh, and speaking of Utena, is the Utena Encyclopedia dead? ;_; I haven't been able to get to it...anyone else have any luck?

I put up my homepage on mr.org today. Laurel and I decided that a blog-like layout was the best way to design a page that would only ever hold odds-and-ends anyway. It's an efficient organizing system and the layout's easy to change. Anyway, the page is here if you wanna look.

Went and judged for the JROTC drill competition today (yesterday? ^^;;). The Bowie drill comp is always a nice break from the drudgery of the semester, and especially from POP this year. There were some excellent teams, and there were some teams who obviously didn't know what attention was. I mean, really. If you're that bad, why do you bother coming at all? ^^;; I'm not trying to be mean, but some people definitely had not prepared for the comp, and it showed.

Then I came home and slept for about four hours. Felt rather depressed when I woke up, for no reason at all. I hate it when that happens.

I really need to work on my English paper...I can't procrastinate any longer. It was due last Friday. ^^;; and I skipped English on both Wednesday and Friday...I feel bad about it now, but at the time I didn't care. I really need to start getting my act together for school...*sigh* The problem is, I'm so not motivated. None of the classes I'm taking this semester interest me except for Japanese, and that's very remotely since we only learn useful stuff in there about twice a week. And I'm the kind of person that either does things obsessively or not at all. If something interests me, I'll go all out. If I decide I'm not interested, I'll completely drop something. The problem is now that I can't completely drop my classes or my GPA will completely drop and there go my scholarships. Grr. School sucks.

And err...on that happy thought, I'm going to bed. Again.

[ MERVEILLES :: KINYOUBI 3.23.01 :: GOZEN 1:50 ]

Listening to: Glay, Together (orchestra version)

This entry is actually mostly to neesan. I'm glad you FINALLY went to the doctor. *nudge* You've been needing to go for a while. So there.

If there is anyway possible, GET Merveilles. I'll promise you that it's the most...intellectually stimulating...album you'll probably hear out of any rock band. You probably know that already ^^ but I just had to insert my two cents. The booklet comes with great pictures of all 5 members when there actuallly WERE 5 member of MM...those were the days. ^_~ I'd get the CD just for the pictures. Heh.

Eden is a nice CD too. I've had songs off of it for a while. It's actually not that classical compared to Time to Say Goodbye, her last CD. If you can, get La Luna too. I don't like it as much as Eden, but it's got some nice songs in it.

Did you record anymore of Mizerable? XD XD XD

I just finished redoing the first two pages of my enormous, humongous, and unearthly long mp3 list. I'm moving all my obsessive lists to mr.org, and it's taking a lot longer than I expected to reformat. Laurel and QS, I'm using your fansub list format for my mp3 list. I hope you don't mind. ^^;; My list looks a lot neater now since I sto-err-borrowed your idea. XD Anyway, if you want to see my pretty list, click here!

QS, I still haven't written Relena yet. It'll get done sometime...when I get around to it. ^^;;

I'm hungry and of course it has to be 1 in the morning, with no food anywhere. *whine*

[ NAPSTER :: SUIYOUBI 3.21.01 :: GOGO 10:43 ]

Listening to: Macross 7, My Friends

This might get a little rant-ish...if it offends you I'm sorry ^^;;; I know people have differing opinions on this and I'm by no means saying that I'm right...it's just what I think.

By now probably everyone knows what's going on with the Napster thing..about how the company has to block files from being shared. I've long been of the opinion that any artist that protective or their music should not be bothered with. How did this all get started in the first place anyway? A few big name artists were scared they were going to lose some money because people would just download the mp3's and not buy the CD. Oh no. We can't buy our multi-billion dollar houses anymore. We can't buy our expensive cars and our brand-name clothes and designer perfume anymore. Maybe we won't be able to go on quite as many vacations and have so many scandals. What will we do?

Seriously, it's ridiculous. Is the music industry about the music or about the money? Yes, I understand that all artists want compensation for their work. If I were a music artist, I'd want people to buy my CD's because I'd have spent long hard hours working on an album. But any artist that is this worked up about an issue like this has the wrong idea. If I were a music artist, I'd be glad that people were downloading my songs off napster, because it would mean that I had conveyed the message I wanted to convey in my songs. It would mean I had gotten my point across to my audience and that people liked my songs.

The napster injunction is probably not going to affect me or anyone else I know online because, as everyone knows, I only listen to Japanese music, and I seriously doubt that the US court system and record companies are that desperate to start blocking japanese songs. But the American side of it is enough to make me mad. Music is an expression of the soul, and since when did people's souls have a pricetag? It's like saying "pay me and then I'll let you get to know me." If I need to pay for that, then the price is just too high.

And everyone who knows me already knows that I believe that music should be free. And yes, it's idealistic, but in an ideal world, that's how it would be. Too bad that ideal world can't exist.

[ ALLERGIES :: SUIYOUBI 3.21.01 :: GOGO 3:46 ]

Listening to: L'Arc~en~Ciel, Driver's High

Allergies suck. >< My medicine doesn't help me, and the PT we do in the mornings out in the field by the LBJ Library with the ants and the pollen and the grass doesn't either. *sigh* oh well. There are more important things in life to be worry about...I just hate it when my sinuses swell up like they are now.

I updated the members page of MR.org and now the only people we're missing sites for are Jen and Mearl. I also did a little maintenance on some other sites...it's amazing how it is that the smaller and more trivial a particular update is, the more I procrastinate doing it.

Didn't do too great on the Latin quiz I took yesterday, but it was a pop quiz, though that doesn't excuse my performance ^^;; A good thing she drops the two lowest quiz grades, though with this grade it makes a total of 4 failing quiz grades and with 2 dropped, I'll still have 2 failing grades. I wonder what my average is in there. The bad thing about languages classes is there's never a curve, and I'm taking all language classes this semester...

I'm kind of hoping I don't have orchestra practice tonight, because I'm lazy. There's no reason for me not to go, but I don't feel like going anywhere or doing anything productive. It must be the allergies. >< Damn it all to hell.

*snicker*

[ MORE ART :: GETSUYOUBI 3.19.01 :: GOGO 8:44 ]

Listening to: Macross 7, My Soul For You

As promised, here is more crappy art. This is all Macross 7 fanart so probably none of you will know who these people are...but bear with me. ^^;;

1. [Nekki Basara]
This is a frontal head shot of him. I tried to get him as much in his "fiery battle singing mode" as I could. I really like his eyes in this picture, though I think the face could be done better. The caption says "Yoshi! Ikuze!" ("All right! Let's go!")

2. [Nekki Basara #2]
Such creative filenames I have ^^;; A kind of side-ish shot of Basara singing. In case anyone is wondering why all these shots are kind of chopped off, I drew all these Basara pictures on the same page and ran out of room for some of them. In this picture, I ran out of room to draw the rest of his head because it began connecting with the Basara picture #1. ^^;; Anyway, the caption says "Ore no haato" ("my heart")

3. [Nekki Basara #3]
Another Basara. (Well, he is my favorite character in Macross 7, after all!) This is him looking pensive/sad. I think I drew the mouth too low, but I redid this pic about ten times before I was even marginally satisfied with it...

4. [Nekki Basara #4]
A side shot of Basara. I still can't draw side shots worth crap, but this one is better than the last one I drew of him, which I will never post online because it looks...interesting. ^^;;; The katakana caption says "Basara."

5. [Gigil and Sivil]
This is from episode 38 when Gigil sings to Sivil. I had to watch episode 38 about ten times before I could figure out how to draw Gigil, since there are absolutely no screencaps of his true form online. >< The caption on the right says "Sivil...ore no subete." ("Sivil...this is everything I have") The vertical writing are song lyrics to My Soul For You: "Omae ga kaze ni naru nara//Hateshinai sora ni naritai" ("If you become the wind//I want to become the endless sky") Episode 38 is one of my favorite episodes. Poor Gigil...

Err...anyway, since none of you know what I'm talking about, I'll shut up now. XD

~Ger

[ SIVIL :: GETSUYOUBI 3.19.01 :: GOGO 3:58 ]

Listening to: Macross 7, Light the Light

Well, it's the first day of school after spring break, and it didn't go too badly. I got a 91 on my Latin test which I was studying my ass off for two weeks ago. It's rather surprising, actually, because I was SURE I hadn't conjugated any of my verbs right. Well, apparently I had ^^;;

New layout for the week is Sivil, one of the Protodeviln "bad guys" from Macross 7. Sivil sucks the spiritia "life essence" from humans just like vampires suck blood. She's cool ^_~ The song is Tonight and the Rest of My Life, which actually has always reminded me of Duo in Gundam Wing ever since I used it for one of the SnK soundtracks. As always, this layout is crappy in Netscape. Sorry, Laurel. ^^

QS, sorry I've kept missing you...if you're on tonight, I'll be on.

Jen, good talking to you!!!

I need bios from Mearl and Neesan for the mr.org members page.

~Ger
