I want URB magazine. It was recommended to me by my friend Dion last night, and I think he may very well be correct. Yea :)
01:39 p.m., Sunday, June 10, 2001
I saw podular.net today in my referral links. This site is beautiful...very nice layout and interesting photography. AND, to make it all better, this girl's from Melbourne, Australia near(er) to my dear friend Jasmine. And to make it EVEN better, she shares a first name (Peta) with the Aussie star of La Femme Nikita (the USA network show) and she's my alter ego! (okay, so that's a stretch...) Go lookie.

Oo! New Herbert Kornfeld! disclaimer: I do not necessarily believe and/or support anything stated in that article. it's just witty.
09:37 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2001
I don't have the time I thought I would to put together a new l.p...sorry! But I'm happy to have some linkage back here, because I missed reciprocating the love. Please be sure and go visit everyone on there (unless you just came from one of these places).
10:22 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2001
3 classes today...two of which I was so bored I nearly cried. It will be a long summer. My interesting class is (of course) Calligraphy, which is unfortunately at 8am (in true UGA graphic design dept. style). Hello coffee maker...AGAIN. I'm grumpy. Grr.
09:12 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2001
It just occurred to me what taking 3 summer session classes means: no life. No time, no nothing. Ugh. But I get really happy when I remember than in less than 2 months, I'll be all graduated. Mm. I think a nighttime statistics2000 class is worth that.
09:47 a.m., Thursday, June 7, 2001
My friend Dave just made his first website ever for his workplace, Solid Rock Productions (interactive extreme sports) and I gotta say, for a first go, this looks VERY nice. Good job! If you are on dialup, you might wanna skip it because it's all images and no text. Downfall of Fireworks. But still, looks great. :)
03:29 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2001
Woohoo! I'm gettin a haircut today at one. Just in time for classes to start tomorrow. I love to go and have my hair cut...I get all pampered and it's so nice to have your hair washed for you. I can hardly contain my excitement!
09:49 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2001
My friend Afshin showed me the website for Vespertine, Bjork's new album and I gotta say...WOW. I LOVE the album artwork, and the website is...well...gorgeous. I wanna know who the artist is that did that stuff though. Really cool.
10:33 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2001
I found this on Jerry's desktop this morning. Ha.
09:33 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2001
Woohoo! I snagged the department's nice digital camera. I'm going to keep it for a few days. Expect some pictures soon (not of new york), and also a new layout...which I haven't really started...but is in the works nonetheless! Also, just in case you were wondering, I have no intentions of becoming a "photoblogger," but a photo or two every now and then spices things up. Wouldn't you say?
09:26 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2001
Wow, this was so much fun.
08:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2001
Ever want to know what's in that diet soda? Well since I am completely hooked on them, I decided to find out what Aspartame (NutraSweet) was exactly. Like all good things, it turns out it really is too good to be true: it's basically poison. Nice. Too bad I bought 2 12-packs yesterday
. Well it's a good think I'm not pregnant or nursing with a heart condition. I guess I'll have to spend money instead on other, more expensive but natural sweeteners. Or maybe I'll just drink water.
07:26 a.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2001
I had my first Powerbar today. It was tasty, but chewy...and that's just wierd. I think I'll stick with Luna. But what I want to know is when the "power" will start kicking in. All I feel is a burning sensation in my esophogus. Yeeg.
01:22 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2001
It's summertime here in Athens...that means (oh yeah) FRESHMAN ORIENTATION. Now, I'd like to think that I don't look as clueless as many of those folk do, but for some reason as i was walking on campus today, sans-backpack, I felt like people were sizing me up for one. Albeit flattering age-wise, I am a senior about to get her degree, and I'd like to think I don't look like a freshman! A girl walking with her backpack actually SMILED at me, walking by. Do I look funny? Is there some reason for that?? I mean, sure she may have just been being friendly...but I think it was a smile of PITY! "Poor freshman, she looks so clueless! Oh, she has no idea what she's in for..." I WILL have my degree in August, I will! I want to wear a special button or something that says "COLLEGE class of 2001" or something. Paranoid. Me. Yes. Silly. Whee!
01:10 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2001
I get the "I'm a big fat jerk" award for not wishing Miriam a happy bday back on the 31st. AAAHH! ANYWAYS, happy belated 22nd bday to MRM. I hope it was awesome :)
05:56 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2001
I spent a long time reading through the entries at Cubicle Girl's diary. Her and riot718 (her best friend) have quite a bond. Turns out CG is moving to Boston from NYC, and very soon at that...and riot and her won't have much time together. I can say that, to leave your best friend, is one of the most challenging things one can do. But it all works out eventually...you find new outlets. Me? I made friends with my computer! And then there was chat! And then there were more friends!
No, but for real, you get more independent. That's the reality. You get stronger, but not thicker...if that makes sense. So my advice, ladies: stay open, write lots of HAND WRITTEN letters, and get out often. I look forward to reading more of your lovely sites.
06:29 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2001
I was in my car a little while ago listening to the radio, and a 311 song came on. I then looked at the clock, and it said 3:11. The numerical wierdness doesn't stop there! I looked at my spedometer yesterday and it said 78787(8). The last time I looked at my spedometer it said 77777. Straaaaannnnggeee.
03:28 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2001
Yeah, there's lots of foody links tonight, but I couldn't resist this one. I want to eat the Dunkin Donuts website.
10:51 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2001
I gotta say, Luna bars are really, really good. They are so very tasty, and they have vitamins and stuff...for women. That doesn't mean they won't be tasty for men also, it just means that they are gonna want to shave their legs and watch the Oxygen network alot. Sounds good to me!
09:57 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2001
I know there's a lot to load now on this page, but I'm about to archive and redesign, so what the hey: pics from my disposa-camera in NYC. My goal was to never look through the viewfinder. Fun, eh?

08:46 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2001
Oo! A neat site: photogeek.org. The girl has all the content (when will men learn?), and she's very funny and has a real passion for photos (thus...the...domain...man I'm transparent). I really like her weblog's layout...very nice and has everything in one place. Not too crowded, very nice. I need more photos. Whoknows what the next l.p has in store...muhaha...
08:41 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2001
My friend Stephanie just redesigned her pitas site and it looks very nice indeed. This girl is gonna go to Japan this summer to study! And a nice design to boot!
03:56 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2001
Back in the A-T-H. And back at work...double your fun! :) Listening to Mike C's old school rap. Back on a mac..whee!
The drive yesterday was looooooooong, and I didn't get in until 12:30am. And then I slept horribly. But it's all good, because I'm re-energized to be back, and ready to work full blast (on school and other) until the end. I'm also ready to check out these high-connection links I've been neglecting for the past week or so. Oo! Be sure to check out our geek meet I movie. Pure fun. Bryan is such a ham. Thanks Red for this fine piece of videographic fun. :)
01:23 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2001
See yall in Athens!
04:24 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2001
Tomorrow I'm heading out to Athens again...aah...my apartment...will be nice to see it again. But I am so sad, because I have had such a fun time not being there! New York was amazing, being home has been nice..but now I must go and finish my degree.
01:40 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2001
Whoa! Yesterday, laceydotpitas turned one! Lots of bdays...
11:00 p.m., Monday, May 28, 2001
Well, I'm all set up for classes this summer. I'm taking Calligraphy at 8am, 5 days a week for 2 months. Yay-rah. But I'm also taking a first-session history class, and an evening statistics class in the thru session, 3 days a week. In the time when I'm not working, I'll be doing some layout stuff for the Baha'is, some illustrations for a personal project, a redesign on lacey.collab, and some other stuff I can't remember. Should keep me busy enough this summer though...it's gonna fly. Whee! Last semester!
10:44 p.m., Monday, May 28, 2001
Chicago, New York, Chicago, New York...someone please tell me where to live! Not you Bryan, you don't count :)
10:39 p.m., Monday, May 28, 2001
It's my lovely Simon's bday. Check out his redesign! My dad's bday is tomorrow...and with the holiday I almost got seriously confused on the date. So I'm straight now. Happy bday Simon! And dad!
10:29 p.m., Monday, May 28, 2001
Okay, so my grandfather has been in the hospital lately, and so my family and I have been going often to stay with him. Today my brother and I went, and let me just say first that Sunday in the hospital...well there's absolutely nothing to do..nothing on tv..no drama. So to entertain ourselves my brother and I found that the window of the 5th floor room opened about 8 inches (enough to put ones' foot out, we found). We then saw that there was a small patio below, with little tables...and conveniently sitting around these tables were 2 security guards. Perfect targets, no? We were looking for anything to throw on them...my brother tried spit first, then we tried medical tape. All of these attempts were unsuccessful until lunch was delivered...and with it, plasticware, and condiments. Voila! We made a "spoon-bomb" with a plastic spoon, salt, pepper, and whatever else we could find, all taped together with the aforesaid medical tape. Well we sent it sailing down at the perfect angle, quickly shut the window, and proceeded to laugh our asses off. They looked up as if to find us...silly futile attempt...oh my that was funny.
12:12 a.m., Monday, May 28, 2001
That is so sweet!
I saw my friends' new baby last night. It's wierd enough to have your friends (your own age) get married, much less procreate. But she was such a little tiny sweetie. Babies. Cute. Bizarre...
10:06 p.m., Sunday, May 27, 2001
Hopefully tonight while I'm on the dl I can get some reading done. Currently I'm reading Little Altars Everywhere by Rebecca Wells, and compared with the Ya-Ya book it's a little more real. I loved the ya ya book because it seemed like good clean fun, but reading its sister book makes everything seem a little more real. Interesting. Also, I finally finished Microserfs, and I gotta say...it was great. I've never read a book quite like that before. All about nerdy subculture...but it was more about their humanity than anything. Very good read. Next after Altars is The Persian Bride...because for those that know me, you know I have this 'persian complex' thing and I gotta read it. That's all there is to it. Yeah, this post pretty much has no point. I'm just jabbering away. Bla ble blah.
09:43 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2001
Maura and I just went out for Chinese. Our fortune? "You will be fortunate in everything you put your hands to." How insightful :)
09:39 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2001
I keep dreaming about what it will be like to have a "real job" soon. I'm thinking about what my apartment will be like, where I will live...DSL or Cable.......but really, it's fun! I will get me a nice little IRA, get rid of my car, get a "citified" wardrobe because I'll be in the city (somewhere), and (my personal favorite) get a big fat cell phone with no roaming and free long distance and no more land lines! Destroy the possibility of dialup! Sounds dumb, but when you're a broke college student, many little things sound appealing and dreamlike. Maybe I should even get me one of them newfangled Palm doohickeys. Gadgets gadgets gadgets! Woo!
01:02 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2001
Woot! Interview in Chicago soon. Soon like, before next Wednesday. Aw yeah. Fabulous.
No rest here at the parents' house. Between getting job stuff together, trying to keep up on the internet, seeing family...I've hardly had any time to catch up with friends around here. Maybe this weekend will be designated to that.
12:22 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2001
Well, it's finally happened: I drank so much Diet Coke that it's starting to taste like Dr. Pepper. Does anyone else have this problem?
04:19 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2001
Is it really egotistical and wrong for me to want to make laceydotpitas tshirts? I really want to now. I think I'll go buy some iron-on transfer paper and a girlie shirt or two. (hey, bryan did it, why can't I?)
12:54 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2001
I did some MEGA-shopping today. You'd think I would have done this while I was in NYC, the shopping paradise that is is. But I had to wait to come home, and wait for mom's que for us to hit up the mall. Tee hee! OH well, I justify it by saying that this is the last time mom will have to buy me things in bulk...I'll have a job and be out on my own before you know it :)
11:48 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2001
I'm in Tennessee now...I forgot how incredibly beautiful this place is. The drive back from ATL was amazing.
I can't talk long because I've got stuff to do, but I want to thank all the people who have been coming to laceydotpitas lately and logging it, or just visiting. Good to see fresh faces in ye olde referral stats. And the New York folks: I miss you guys already. And thanks for the traffic! Jeez!
02:50 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2001
Haha...I'm logging this from Laguardia airport. There is this free terminal thingie. I've never seen so many bannber ads in my life. It makes me jump randomly around in what I'm typing, too. I suppose I should just be thankful, right?
09:14 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2001
Byebye New York...I'm off to Atlanta now. By tonight I should be in Nashville sleeping on my parents' couch. Mm. Couch...
07:49 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2001
Aah, my last day NYC. We spent most of the day being low-key, went to the seaport in the financial district. Little Italy and Chinatown again, which I don't think will ever get old. We ate Vietnamese. It was amazing.
I will be really incredibly sad to leave NY. It's wierd but it feels oddly like a second skin here. Who knows where I'll be in 3 months. Depending on how things work out in other places, to live in NY is an objective now for me in my life. For some reason, I'm not worried about finding a job at all. There seem to be graphic designer jobs aplenty everywhere. The money factor is the kicker. David Carson actually said to me (and of course I didn't listen) something about it being hard to decide which is more important, the money or where you live. Now I see what he meant. (hopefully I can have both..heh)
Be sure and go visit this site...this is what writing is all about. Go see.
01:36 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2001
From yesterday in Central Park:

03:24 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2001
Wow, this moving guide is really helpful. It's got it all. If you're planning on moving, it will calculate a timeline of tasks for you to do. Also, will tell you how much more/less money it will take to live in your new location. The web is so smart!
02:39 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2001
OH yes, much thanks to Beth for giving the geeks lipgloss! Mine tastes like creamsicle! MMmm...Beth you rule.
11:44 a.m., Sunday, May 20, 2001
This is wierd. I'm logging from Mike C's apartment in Brooklyn...Bryan and I just met a bunch of internet people today (ie Beth, Red, and Mike) and we have had SO MUCH FUN. I have to move here. That's all there is to it...all these nerdy people like me! Oo!
09:50 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2001
Here's a shot from yesterday:

12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2001
OH my goodness...I'm so tired. But here's a new layout anyways. Well not really. New image. Whatever.
02:51 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2001
Okay, not only is Bryan an excellent tour guide, but he lives at the convergence of Little Italy and Chinatown: this means GOOD FOOD. Good is an understatement..pizza elsewhere will taste mediocre from here on out, and oh my goodness, I just had some chinese (I'm not really sure what it was exactly..but it was OH SO great) that was amazing. I think I might have to venture out to get some more in a minute.
Saw the Met, Guggenheim, and MOMA today...they were all amazing. Actually, we didn't technically go through the guggenheim, but we did go in and look up and see it in all its beauty. We took aboooouuut a million pictures today so be sure and look at collab later for documentation.
Oh yeah, I had my interview: the place is amazing, the people are really nice, the job is incredible, but I can't start until August, and they needed someone now. OH well. I would have gotten to travel with this job too...I mean, TRAVEL, like to PARIS and LONDON and DUBAI! UGH! DARN LAST THREE CLASSES OF COLLEGE!
06:57 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2001
Bust out on new collab. So fresh and so clean, clean! This place is oh so much fun.
08:21 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2001
I'm tiiiiiiiiired. I saw lots of touristy things. Time to sleep now.
08:36 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2001
This one's for Sania: less wire, more groove!
11:59 a.m., Thursday, May 17, 2001
Well, it's true: I did take Bryan's blanket (as opposed to using...well, nothing). But I'm not used to this coldness at night! I'm from the south!
Today we ARE going to go be tourists! WE ARE! Definetly going to the Empire St. Building for sure, but hopefully maybe just walk around the financial district. Eeh, maybe not..doesn't seem too terribly exciting over there.
I think I'm nervous about my interview tomorrow! I had to learn how to walk in those shoes. I hope I don't die. Haha.
08:29 a.m., Thursday, May 17, 2001
quasi-new layout. I feel inspired, what can I say? :)
Saturday I'm gettin to meet a bunch of people! Mike, Beth, and more! Whee!
07:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2001
Day 3 NYC: I got an interview from one of those resumes I sent off about a month ago. Wierd that it happens now, eh? So anyways, I'm going to this interview Friday, and of COURSE, I needed new shoes. NineWest in SOHO, thank you for my new shoes which make me over 6' tall. Which isn't too hard to do because I'm already over 5'9". Yeah.
04:41 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2001
I am really liking NYC. I feel surprisingly at home here. I think it's time I really live in a big city...everything about it just seems good to me. Be sure and keep checking collab and bryan's site for frequent pictures. I'm in love with the digital camera. OH yeah, and SIMON is back!!!! We talked to him on the phone last night and he's doing so much better. I feel so relieved to know that he's getting better. Yay! :) And look at what he sent us! hehe
04:04 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2001
Pictures from NYC fresh every day this week over at collab. They are funny.
01:46 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2001
Hi from NYC, folks! I got here this morning, my flight went smoothly. Got the flight I wanted and everything from airtran which was cool, got a cab and here I am at bryan's. To highlight the day, we went walking around and ate pizza and falafel (yummmm) and then we saw LL Cool J and he checked me out. Bizarre. Be sure and check subinev.com for photographic documentation of my vacation. Werd.
06:38 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2001
Eep. SOrry about that last entry. I have had very little sleep this week and have been rather stressed with the show and whatnot. But, I took a nice nap today, relaaaaxed, and feel more sane now :)
Tomorrow afternoon I'm heading out to Atlanta, and then eeaarrly monday morning I'm going to the airport to try and get a flight to New York City. I'm travelling the lovely AirTran using their special "xfares" for folks 23 and under. I think it's $52 one way, and you basically fly standby. Not too shabby. I'll be visiting Bryan and we're gonna do lots of nerdy arty stuff. Woo! Vacation!
11:34 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2001
I'm sad. Graduation was today...Someone cheer me up.
12:53 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2001
Oh, I thought I would mention this: my little brother's Junior prom is tomorrow night. I can't believe my brother is old enough to go to prom! He's 17! He's huge too (over 6' and athletic..sheesh)! I remember how old I felt at my junior prom. Gosh.
10:39 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2001
Well, the show is up and I can now rest. The opening (and closing..) is tonight, and I'm gonna wear silver heels to celebrate. Yeehaw. In the meantime, I think I'll go sit by the pool. Heh heh heh.
10:36 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2001
Lovely new layouts at bryan's place and lipglosslolita. All these photos!
06:59 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2001
I hope it doesn't seem like I've forgotten about laceydotpitas. I've been trying to get ready for my show, and going on extreme lack of sleep at this point. I'm not as bad off as some of my peers (I got 4 hours maybe...most others didn't sleep at all), but we are going to have a good-looking exit show resulting from our hard work. It's really nervewracking at this point, because I'm very humbled by my classmates. Everyone's stuff looks SO good. I feel like such a mediocre designer after seeing all this other stuff. I'm going to take pictures and post them either here or lacey.collab, and I'll put up my work from the show too. But wish me luck...my fate in this program will be determined tomorrow. AAH!
05:49 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2001
Well lessee...my exam went well today. I filled up a blue book with all this juicy information from the lecture and the text, and I think I did pretty good. Then to celebrate my squirliness, Sania and I went and got body piercings. I got my navel done, she got cartiledge. Perhaps this is "TMI" for ye olde website, but what the hey, friends read this right? ANYWHO (that's for you bry), to make a long story short, it wasn't that bad, but afterward I got a little..dizzy? So, needless to say, get your friend to drive you to your next piercing...without Sania I think I'd be comatose on a sidewalk table downtown, leaning back in my chair so as not to agitate my boo boo. :)
05:57 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2001
OOo, pretty.
10:40 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2001
I didn't start the day out very good today: I slept through my alarm and subsequently, woke up 5 minutes before my crit (so did Sania, and she was driving me...wierd!). So naturally, luxuries such as showering had to be replaced with bad words and a lot of scurrying around. I made it to the crit though, everything was cool. I had a funny thought though, when I was in the student center getting a bluebook for my final at noon. There is this clinique counter in our bookstore, and I was thinking it would be funny for me to go over there and ask them if they could sell me a shower. Ha.
10:24 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2001
Oh archive, how big you've grown...
I'm done studying for this final tomorrow...or in 11 hours, 40 minutes by the clock in here. I think I'm at the point where I ask myself, "what more is there to study?" I think I would die if I had a really academic major like chemistry or something. Oh well..only 3 months left of college, then I'm free for life! Free of papers and stuff that is...:)
