Just installed new RAM. When I opened the package, and the backplate of the lappie, I was kind of at a loss of what to do. Since there was no instruction, and I couldn't find anything useful on the lappie manufacturer's website, I really didn't know how to put the RAM into the slot, but luckily, I think I got it right -- there's no smoke coming out -- so now this metal box here seems to be running a little faster than before. *happy*
The RAM was a little expensive, but hopefully it's worth it. Once I get my junk out (burn off), I can probably put more non-play things on here to help with job/work-hunting. :) But of course, this doesn't beat getting a new computer, but since I don't foresee myself having the $$ to get one soon, this will have to do. :)

Monday, November 27, 2006 - 02:15 p.m.
It's that time of the year again! Hehe. December is here in a few days, and that means I'm seeing things I want everywhere! *think it's also time to update the wish list :P* And then it's also the time to work on a new layout. I don't know what to do for next year yet. So hopefully, it wouldn't be like the beginning of this year, where I put off posting until January was nearly over. ^^;;
Going back to my original point, :P, I went to Vaughan Mills Mall yesterday... that place is just way too big; you can pretty much spend the whole day there (window) shopping. There were a lot people, even though it isn't even December yet. But I suppose it would be even more crowded and busy in two weeks' time. And since it isn't December yet, maybe that's why I couldn't find many deals. That's good in a way, because I wouldn't have to spend too much $$. :)
While there, I played one game of the tennis game on Wii. Hehe. :P The wiimote would vibrate when you hit the ball. It was kind of fun actually, although I hit the Nintendo rep once accidentally when I was swinging the wiimote. :P I think you need a big screen TV and a lot of open space for this thing if your game is of the big body movement kind, otherwise, you or the person you're playing with/against will get hurt/hit. Haha. The Wii is pretty small thou, I kind of expected it to be bigger, but then again, my gaming knowledge/experience is VERY limited, so I don't know what the standard is.
Hmm hmm... maybe I'll go back some time closer to Christmas to see if there's any good deals to catch. :)
Phone
Wednesday, November 22, 2006 - 04:07 p.m.
I know what phone I want. :P Nokia 7373 in Powder Pink, or Nokia 7370 (in gold/amber) -- the official version available here. The reason is almost all because of how it looks, and how _different_ it looks from all other phones out there. Compared to it, imo, other phones are just plain. :P Hehe, maybe I exaggerated a little bit, but it's really pretty!
I saw it in pmall, but they didn't have the model number displayed (on a side note: that store says it also has PS3 for sale, but that's not my concern), so I went and search for it just now. It's pink but it's not hot pink, kind of a metallic dull pink. Pretty^3~~~~ I found an
online store that sells it for around 400$, which is kind of less than what I expected. :O Coz the money sucker that is Rogers wants almost 3/4 of that if I were to upgrade to a newer phone AND it will tie me to a 3 years contract. No, thank you! For an unlock and no contract phone, and a new (i think) one at that, I think it's a pretty reasonable price... If only I have the money for it... :P
Movies
Tuesday, November 21, 2006 - 11:51 p.m.
There are two movies I want to, or rather, am interested in going to see, if I have $$. A) Casino Royale, and B) Happy Feet.
A) Because it looks like it'll be exciting? Plus DC as the new 007 looks okay to me~ :) He isn't as good looking as PB, but in some angles he sorta looks like SC. :D I'm not too keen on the poker reference that'll be in it thou, since I don't understand any card games...
B) Because I watched March of the Penguins. :P And it looks like it'll be a fun family film. :)
Eh!
Tuesday, November 21, 2006 - 06:15 p.m.
Ehhh... seeing that there hasn't been much activities around here, I might as well blog one of my recent rants.
This is regarding China's new policy of one dog per household. I'm not sure if it is enforced already, or if it is just a suggestion. But, just reading an article in a Chinese newspaper made me fumes. It said that because of this policy/rule, people are starting to abandon dogs on the street. The article described that someone dropped the dog off at a public square(?), and just left. The poor dog managed to follow them for quite a distance as they were going around, trying to shake him off (so to speak) until IT gave up following. When I read that, I was... quite disgusted -- at people, and their(our?) capability in cruelty. There are two things wrong here, I believe. First and foremost, the policy itself is.. both sad, unfortunate, and in my opinion, flawed, or incomplete. I think, if they wanted to control the number of dogs in a household, pleeease just exempt the current multiple-dogs owners from this policy, but just don't let them own another dog, and do enforce it strictly on any new dog owners from this point on. As well, if not already done so, add in a dog owners registry thingy too. So, people wouldn't have to do what I've read from that article. Yes, dogs are animals, but I do believe they have feelings too; they are not inanimate objects that can be tossed at one's will. Whenever you own a pet, I believe there is a two-way bond between the two parties. I can't believe how people can be so heartless and have no guilt over doing this and the government is forcing them to be this way. This is the second wrong.
Yes, the "law" requires or forces them to be like that, however, couldn't they have found a more responsible way of letting go of their pet? Perhaps, they could find a dogless family and give away the dog? Depending on how you look at it, it probably still isn't a good solution, but, at least you wouldn't have to leave the dog out on the street and have it be infected with diseases and die. Which brings me to my original point, current dog owners should be allowed to keep their dogs without penalties, and only penalize when they fail to comply _in the future_! I know the original point was to stem the growing rates of rabies in dogs, but at this rate, there will just be a lot more infected stray dog walking around infected the _kept_ dogs. If the people there failed to enforce vaccination for the _kept_ dogs before, I doubt they would make a decent effort to help the stray dogs get clean. The only outcome I see, is that the strays, infected or not, will be left to die, and after a generation or two, all dogs still alive and kept would have a better chance at not catching rabies from other fellow doggies.
Another reason this irks me, is the unavoidable comparison to China's one child policy. My immediate question to this situation was: Did the same happene when they started applying the one child policy? Meaning, do people just abandon their own child on the street because the government says you're only allowed one child from now on? Unfortunately, I do believe people are capable of and have done something like that; people -- sometimes -- are just ugly like that. To some, you may argue that dogs and people are not the same, you can't equate the two like that. However, sometimes, in terms of the emotional investment both the person AND the pet have put in, they can be the same. In my point of view, this whole thing is just very inhumane, and is just another step towards furthering their people's irresponsibleness. People who've talked to me about my views of China and the Chinese people would know that I'm not very fond of the civil education or awareness (or the lack thereof) of some Chinese people, so I am bias and tend to be quite critical and often expresses myself in an angry/frustrating tone. So do please excuse the heated way I sometimes expresses myself.
Final note: I do have to say that I did let go of my turtles many years ago, but they were placed back in their natural habitat and shouldn't have problem finding food (since they were used to fishies as food) and continue living. And trust me, I would have brought them here if I were allowed. As well, I do confess I don't know all the details of the policy, so if they are allowed to keep their extra dogs, then all the more better, and please just ignore my post. And if the government is already doing the best they can to minimize the inhumane-ness of this policy, then, again, please continue making the effort and hopefully some good will come out of it.

Hershey recall
Wednesday, November 15, 2006 - 02:07 p.m.
Yea, about that.. remember that I bought chocolate in Walmart last week? It's documented down here on Nov7. And then remember that all choco I bought were Hershey's?? o__O;; I went and checked
here and found that luckily, my whopper box and hershey kisses bag is okay, since the date codes on both start with 63XX. So that leaves the reese peanut cups I ate right after I bought it. :T
I have no way of checking the date now, since immediately upon getting home, I threw the wrapper away to the recycling bin. So.. I may have consumed a recall product..... >_< But then again, I don't have any of the symptoms described on the website, of salmonella, so I think I'm okay.. for now.. I actually don't even know what that is. >.> Maybe I'll go pay a visit to the doctor or something....
slight pain
Monday, November 13, 2006 - 03:27 a.m.
I was bored and wanted to know how high I could jump to, so I went like a frog and jump the hardest I could. I jumped a few times, had some fun, and never thought much of it after. That was yesterday. Today, when I woke up, I felt a bit of muscle pain around the rib cage/abdomen area and was wondering the whole day why the sudden muscle strain in such a strange area? o_O;;; Then, by dinner time, it finally donned on me that it must be due to the jumping yesterday... *rolls eyes*
Soo.. what have I learned? Jumping can cause muscle pain too. Not in the legs, but at the abdomen. o_o; Not what I expected, but it's the truth, in my case. Or, perhaps I just wasn't jumping properly? Who knows.... ;T
Zune
Wednesday, November 8, 2006 - 12:33 p.m.
The new Zune desktop theme (for winxp) by Micro$oft is sweet! I never thought I would say that for a dark theme.. but I'm using it now and I *heart* the glassy glare effect. Granted, I know Media Centre had a Royale Blue glassy theme and if I so wanted, I could have easily found it freely available online. But, I have always strongly disliked the windows "blue" (it hurts my eyes), so I never got it.
But now, this new theme, just recently released, I persume, just in time for their Zune Mp3 player... *__* It's black and it looks really nice. download link could be found:
here or directly:
here. Note that the direct link is from Microsoft, so there's nothing to do after download, just doubleclick the msi file and it'll install itself. :) Too bad it doesn't come with Zune screensaver thou. Hehe. Right now, I'm still getting used to seeing the taskbar in a different light, but I'm sure I'll like it down the road. Now, if only they would make a silver one.... :P

Tuesday, November 7, 2006 - 02:47 p.m.
I forgot to mention this, but a while ago, I was spoiled through my bro on the ending of The Lakehouse. XD Haha. So I guess now I can wait for this to be on television. XD
And, I just went to walmart, and came home with chocolate. :9 I missed the halloween chocolate buying period, so when I saw these various little bags and boxes next to the entrance, I went browsing. :D I ended up getting a bag of Hershey Kisses and a milk carton of Whoppers. XD The Hershey Kisses has a festive gold and red wrapper. I'm thinking maybe I'll leave it in the family cow (moooo) as snacks...
The whoppers, is the North American version of Maltesers (
wiki) which I've mentioned (offline) recently. I was wrong when I said it was made by Cadbury, but it's actually by Mars. I'm pretty sure they taste slightly different, but one can hardly find Maltesers here, so there's no way of actually buying a bag and compare. :)
Oh, and I also bought a bag of Reeses cups, but that quickly went down the stomach, and it was very.... filling, in a way. It reminds me of why you shouldn't eat too much of it though. Anyway, here ends my candy talk. Happy Christmas gift shopping! XD Walmart has lots (or as my cousin says, loads) of Hershey stuffs. ;)
:X
Monday, November 6, 2006 - 01:42 a.m.
The water boiler broke, and yours truly here was forced to take a cold shower... in winter. And let me ya, it is NOT fun. That must have been the quickest jump in and jump out of tub time I've ever had. Was shivering very involuntarily and has taken a whole 10-20minutes to warm back up to normal body temperature. T_T I guess that means I'll never be one of those people who swims in cold water in the winter...
New found knowledge: Cold shower in summer is acceptable, but is definitely a NOT in winter. All that while, I kept thinking that this must be a very inhumane form of torture.... >.> Don't mind me, I tend to have weird train of thoughts....
kuu is obviously a creature born sometime ago.
Its exact date of existence amuses itself greatly.
But kuu itself deems this unnecessary information for the prying public.
Hence will forever be unknown to the unknowing.
This writer likes to point out that kuu has an alter ego over
here at CocaCola.
kuu's nature is rather mean, but does pretend*ahem*attempt to be nice most of the time.
It is made of water, mostly blue, and has orange spots.
It is also short and round with a big head.
Too bad the head size does not correspond with any kind of smarts.
kuu likes colours and pretty things, and dislikes all manners of messyness.
As always, it needs to clean its room and do well in school, but things just don't always work out the way it wants it to be.
kuu is not reachable for comments by any normal means, unless you have special knowledge of its other virtual or real selves.

The "family" (haha!) above is from Tada Kaoru-sensei's last manga
Itazura na Kiss. An excellent excellent source of information regarding the manga can be found
here. As well as the reason why this is the last manga from the mangaka. I tend to treat this manga with respect because of that. And althou it's end is like that, I am glad it is able to end with a world of possibilities.
Tada-sensei's drawing style isn't the prettiest. In fact, it looks to be from such an early era that one may even be turned off by it. However, I simply just adore the story. It is probably the first manga that brought me to tears just by reading the synopsis.
It is very much a typical shoujo story, with a guy who is quite a catch, and a less than average girl pining after him. XD But the best part is it didn't just end at the usual happily ever after. What happened after is much sweeter than the first half. How I wish there is a Naoki for me. :3 Through laughters and tears, you can't help but like/love everyone in the story. Hence the reason why I didn't single out anyone in the picture.
Itazura na Kiss, or ItaKiss, as I tend to call it, ended its run in 1999. It has 23 volumes, both JP and Chinese editions are out. Do give it a read if you can find it. :)
